So, childcare bubble, support bubble, separate Christmas bubble, changing your bubble, travelling to see your "bubbled" household etc.

All allowed. All have highly technical fine print probably read by very few.

Impact on Covid rates.

@Oblomov20 I've seen the same,big groups in the playgrounds etc. Everybody thinks it isn't them causing the increase in cases.

Bubbles if used properly are fine.
The problem is a minority of people taking the piss with multiple bubbles.

DP and I went for a walk on Boxing Day in our local country park (tier 4). Everyone else we saw were in groups of 5+ adults, one were at least 10. Absolutely no way they were from a single household or 1 household + support bubble.

Yet our local FB group currently has loads of people insisting you can't now leave the house to meet anyone at any time!
