People who have had Coronavirus , how do you think you caught it?

I someone say on the restrictions thread someone asked for details on common transmission on Coronavirus so just wondering how do you think you caught it?

I'm a teacher and I think I probably caught it at school.

My DH caught it from someone at work in a small office. We all then caught it from him.

I'd like to know the logic behind where people think they caught it too - if they weren't aware of someone having covid and therefore less able to pinpoint

I caught it in work - I hadn't been anywhere else but work and DH and the kids had been at home as it was the end of half term. I am a midwife.

I think my family had it last January, but can't be sure, obviously. We went to a large London multicultural event about a week before.

Dd caught it in nursery. We were informed on Thursday that a girl in the nursery room had tested positive. Dd tested positive yesterday.

I’m a nurse and either caught it in a shop where I used gel on entry and exit and only handled what I bought. Or at work where I’m in full PPE at all times working with non-Covid patients (clinic setting) and am extremely cautious. It surprised me as I have taken every possible precaution so showed me how easily it can spread. Still suffering 6 weeks later.

My friend’s daughter must have caught it from school. Two other close contacts in her form tested positive and then she did a few days later.

She hadn’t left the house other than to go to school and the rest of the family were WFH so it’s the only possible place.

My relative caught it from her work (weekend job) at a online retailer’s distribution centre warehouse. Quite certain as she hadn’t been anywhere else at all in the 2 weeks before that as she was at home revising for exams. Everyone else was working from home. No body else in the family caught it as she stayed in her room for the duration of her isolation, she used the family bathroom but this was cleaned regularly and the towels were removed from the bathroom, so there was no accidental sharing of towels.

At work. HCP and had done a couple of visits where it was suspected. No idea how though as I was wearing the magic PPE. my plastic pinny, rubber gloves and paper mask really let me down 🤔

Not sure the mask helps when you are in the same place for a long time. She wore a triple layered mask for the full shift.

From school , I left work on Friday and went straight home. First positive case on Saturday so all isolating, over the following week 5 more of us tested positive.

This is why it’s so frustrating when people say it’s rising because people are breaking the rules.
I am willing to bet most people are catching / spreading this from things that are allowed.
Work / education / health. Will follow this thread with interest.

We haven’t had i,t but sister’s family have. All working from home apart from DC who go to school. So they definitely caught it from secondary school unfortunately

Work, from a colleague who caught it from her daughter who more than likely caught it at school.

And yes, I followed the rules

It would be so much worse without all the limitations.

The hope and intention of all the restrictions was to slow transmission enough that we could have schools open and people at work.

The new strain hasn't helped as it seems to be a bit of a super spreader.
