She manages to get to the point and be down to earth.

She's from such an ordinary background and is so clever, excellent state education and is a very good politician. She is on my dream dinner party list for sure!

CayrolBaaaskin · 19/12/2020 17:41

Me too - she’s great

Babdoc · 20/12/2020 14:21

I beg to differ. I can’t stand the smirking whining irritating little shit.
And she and her party have made an utter mess of Scotland on every front. We have the lowest rate of new business start ups per head of population in the whole UK, Scottish education has crashed so far down the international league tables that the SNP have pulled us out of them to hide the embarrassment, they’ve wasted millions of British taxpayers money on the ferries debacle, Bifab, free university tuition for foreigners from Europe (while denying it to English students), and free prescriptions for millionaires.
They bungled the handout of UK furlough money and then whined for more, while pretending we could survive if independent.
And she lies about Scotland being eligible to re-enter the EU in future, when our deficit is three times over the EU limit for new members.
As a retired doctor, I also deplore her taxing Scots doctors over £1500 a year more than their colleagues in England, hitting recruitment.
Anyone who falls for her propaganda and tv presentations needs to look at the crap record it conceals.

user1471519931 · 20/12/2020 14:52

Wow @Babdoc quite a few misunderstandings there... university tuition is RECIPROCAL! Scottish students have to pay to study in England so English students have to pay to study in Scotland... Scottish students could study for free in the EU so again it was free vice versa

user1471519931 · 20/12/2020 14:55

No mention of achievements - infrastructure projects have gone ahead under leadership, there has been some land reform, building of new schools and new hospitals, increased support for parents in terms of free childcare...Trying to pass legislation to tackle sectarianism, alcohol abuse, etc etc

opinionatedfreak · 20/12/2020 14:56

@babdoc it's not the tax that keeps doctors away.

It's the punitive 9:1 contracts, unpaid job planned time (much worse for my colleagues in Lothian, than my London trust) and parochialism of Scottish medicine..

Merename · 20/12/2020 14:58

Me too, she’s great, human and real - but you will find many MNers that strongly disagree, these threads tend to end up pretty depressing.

EnPoinsettia · 20/12/2020 20:37

Me too. Don’t share many of her views politically but she is a competent leader.

Baycob · 20/12/2020 20:42

Her husband is the fucking CEO of the SNP if that isn’t a conflict of interest I’m not sure what is ?

Agree with @Babdoc every single God Damn word.

The woman is a deluded separatist and I think many people are confusing good leader with good auditor.

TokyoSushi · 20/12/2020 20:43

Yes I like her. She's very clear and does seem to actually care. Whenever we get a ridiculous announcement by Johnson, I often wait to hear what she says as it's much easier to understand.

Baycob · 20/12/2020 20:46

Forgot to add, earning 150k a year? here are some free tampons to go with your free paracetamol prescription and baby box which also doubles as a dog bed!

Means testing? What’s that ?

herecomestheSon · 20/12/2020 20:47

@Babdoc I can’t stand the smirking whining irritating little shit.

Can we swap you for Boris please?

We could throw in Rees-Mogg, Cummings and Priti Patel for free.

Deal?

Baycob · 20/12/2020 20:47

@TokyoSushi

As I said good auditor does not equal good leader.

FloorLamp · 20/12/2020 20:52

Google Nicola Sturgeon and Govanhill. Open secret in Glasgow for years. Only now catching the mainstream media and getting attention due to one guy in Glasgow called Alex Cairnie.

Sad but true.

TiddyTid · 20/12/2020 20:52

She's bitter. I'm English so flame me but I also think she's been incredible throughout covid but I think her bitterness has had something to do with it. In that, she goes a step further than Boris just because ( but Boris should've done it in the first place) as an English bod I don't like her, she's all about segregation

CheeseIsMyVice · 20/12/2020 20:53

Check out the latest statistics on drug deaths.

She’s a very good public speaker.

dementedma · 20/12/2020 21:00

Agree with Babdoc. She is despised by many but as she controls the media she manages to avoid proper scrutiny. Alex Salmond enquiry anyone????

lyinginthegutterstaringatstars · 20/12/2020 21:03

I don't know much about her tbh but she can't be any worse than fucking BoJo.

Shopaholic100 · 20/12/2020 21:17

I don’t know too much about her policies but she always sounds genuine and more believable.

Tinseltastix · 20/12/2020 21:19

I like her, she’s not perfect but has handled things far better than Boris!

willsantausesantatize · 20/12/2020 21:20

I'll a huge fan (don't live in Scotland, sadly)
She's much better than Boris Johnson.

newhousestress · 20/12/2020 21:22

Why are the SNP doing so well in the polls if she is so awful? 🤔

ThatsNotYourPassword · 20/12/2020 21:23

She’s very good at public speaking.

But she doesn’t have complete responsibility and can blame any problem she likes on Westminster.

DieSchottin93 · 20/12/2020 21:24

She manages to get to the point? Confused took 15 minutes of her waffling to finally announce the move to tier 4 last night 🙄

ThatsNotYourPassword · 20/12/2020 21:24

@newhousestress

Because the rest of us are spilt between Labour, Tory and Greens.
