She manages to get to the point and be down to earth.

OP posts:
willsantausesantatize · 20/12/2020 21:25

She is 100 percent better at this than Boris Johnson is.
Not perfect , but who is?
I wouldn't be for sure.

Kilpitlees · 20/12/2020 21:26

She is better than BoJo and that is it ... not sure there is anyone worth voting for .. shower of shite

willsantausesantatize · 20/12/2020 21:27

I'd rather have Nicola than Boris any day of the week!
At least she makes sense.

Scottishskifun · 20/12/2020 21:31

@Baycob

Forgot to add, earning 150k a year? here are some free tampons to go with your free paracetamol prescription and baby box which also doubles as a dog bed!

Means testing? What’s that ?

There are plenty things in Scotland which are means tested such a the best start grant. The baby box is fantastic and I don't believe it should be means tested we still regularly use things from it and have also shared items to friends who would have otherwise struggled with some of the costs such as a baby wrap which if you don't know if you will get on with £30/40 is a lot! its also voluntary you don't have to fill in the form!

There are some aspects which Nicola has handled very well and she does explain things a lot better than Boris. But some aspects I don't agree with - latest being announcing that ELC settings will also be shut til the 18th of Jan via twitter being one of them! Xmas Angry

I also don't agree with a second referendum or even discussing it when the country is on its knees and needs stability for the next 3years minimum

Elvesaremagic · 20/12/2020 21:31

‘Better than Boris’. Not a high bar there!

Elvesaremagic · 20/12/2020 21:33

People like her as she spouts the same magic money tree shite that Corbyn did but without the v dodgy anti Semitic view and student grade socialisim. But there is still no magic money tree.

Witchend · 20/12/2020 21:34

Don't worry too much.
I expect there's a support group for people with the same affliction.

goldenharvest · 20/12/2020 21:35

Not forgetting a shocking rate of deaths from drug overdoses.

If she spent as much time and energy on running the country as she does on pushing for independence, the country would be in a better position.

Cheesecake53 · 20/12/2020 21:35

Me too, she is fantastic!

moraymint · 20/12/2020 21:36

Being better than Boris isn't that great an achievement.
The education system here is a shambles, our drug deaths are horrific and the way our care homes were treated during this pandemic is shameful.
Telling us last night that the schools are closing till 18th Jan after the holidays but still expecting my DC's and their teachers to attend school this coming week. Makes no sense at all.

jocktamsonsbairn · 20/12/2020 21:39

@Babdoc

I beg to differ. I can’t stand the smirking whining irritating little shit. And she and her party have made an utter mess of Scotland on every front. We have the lowest rate of new business start ups per head of population in the whole UK, Scottish education has crashed so far down the international league tables that the SNP have pulled us out of them to hide the embarrassment, they’ve wasted millions of British taxpayers money on the ferries debacle, Bifab, free university tuition for foreigners from Europe (while denying it to English students), and free prescriptions for millionaires. They bungled the handout of UK furlough money and then whined for more, while pretending we could survive if independent. And she lies about Scotland being eligible to re-enter the EU in future, when our deficit is three times over the EU limit for new members. As a retired doctor, I also deplore her taxing Scots doctors over £1500 a year more than their colleagues in England, hitting recruitment. Anyone who falls for her propaganda and tv presentations needs to look at the crap record it conceals.
This plus she asked us to judge her on education. We have. She failed.
PapsofJura · 20/12/2020 21:45

She built hospitals, just remind me when the sick kids in Edinburgh is opening? What about the new cal Mac boats that are rusting away.

Being better than Boris isn’t such a great achievement. Boris has a press who holds him to account, the Scottish press are mainly silent on the very many failings of the Scottish Government who are rarely held to account and no government is perfect. Dissent is not allowed. We are only just beginning to see more questions being asked but not enough.

Sexnotgender · 20/12/2020 22:09

You’re welcome to her. I wouldn’t vote for the SNP if they were the only party on the ballot.

She’s closed childcare in Scotland again. Just going to have to shove my toddler in the airing cupboard while I try and work and not have a nervous fucking breakdown.

cravingthelook · 20/12/2020 22:19

I agree with @Babdoc and everyone else that agreed with them.

She spins a good yarn about Scotland doing great but she'll destroy Scotland with her obsession for making herself a name by doing anything to push independence through.

It's time people realised we are all human with a big mixed pot of DNA in us and it's time we worked together instead of always trying to do one over on someone else due to a perception of nationalism.

I'm tired apologies if that doesn't make sense

OhioOhioOhio · 20/12/2020 22:19

I think she's making Scottish schools fail and she's sabotaging Scottish business opportunity to make everyone dependent on the state and therefore end up voting for snp and independence. I also think she's a lying toad who is loving this magnificent power that is has.

cravingthelook · 20/12/2020 22:21

Strangely it seems people in England like her... is this because they don't have to live with the consequences of her fucking nonsense and see only the very cleverly spun media image? Probably

Baycob · 20/12/2020 22:32

Well if you can’t afford it- don’t procreate.

Or how about she actually creates some jobs so Scot’s don’t have to rely on the Government.

RasberryRoyale · 20/12/2020 22:35

I hate her with a passion.
Judge her on failure with Scottish Education, judge her on Scotland having the highest drug deaths in Europe, judge her on Govanhill- her own constituency which is a right mess not to mention very many other unpleasant things.
Judge her on not having the balls to lockdown Glasgow when it needed it because most of her fans are there and we can’t upset them can we? I judge her on the handling of Covid and the many care homes that were impacted by it, I judge her by allowing a Nike conference to go ahead knowing fine well Covid was what it was.

I don’t agree she is a good public speaker, she takes 20 mins to get to the point. Saying she is better than Bojo shouldn’t be an achievement.
People vote for her, but she doesn’t have a majority and for the first time in a long time the Tory party did well in Scotland in some areas they previously did not. The Unionist vote is split.

Beenaboutabit · 20/12/2020 22:38

I really like her.

Has anyone else noticed she has not had a day off since we entered the first lockdown?

She's hard working and principled - two things missing from the current cabinet in Westminster. I can't think of a better person for FM in Scotland atm.

ssd · 20/12/2020 22:41

You aren't allowed to like Nicola sturgeon on mn.
She called some amount of names, I sometimes wonder if a man would get called similar. Even boris has less name calling.

I know the SNP have done some stupid things.
But I dont recognise the shit hole Scotland is made out to be on here. We are working class and so far we've done ok..and kids got a good education. Both at uni.

But hey, let's not get actual experience get in the way of a good slagging.

OhioOhioOhio · 20/12/2020 22:41

Well said pp.

slipperywhensparticus · 20/12/2020 22:47

@Baycob

Well if you can’t afford it- don’t procreate.

Or how about she actually creates some jobs so Scot’s don’t have to rely on the Government.

Bit fucking late now to not procreate
OhioOhioOhio · 20/12/2020 22:47

As in that she's awful.

CayrolBaaaskin · 20/12/2020 22:50

@ssd yip indeed. Can’t understand the hatred posters like babdoc have for her. But ofc she is very popular in Scotland generally hence why she is first minister.

notangelinajolie · 20/12/2020 22:51

Well you'd want her on your side that's for sure. I'm no fan but I respect her because she doesn't come across as a career politician and I think she genuinely has conviction in what she says. I don't agree with her politics but if you ever needed someone to fight your corner I bet she would do it.
