Just added a link, because no doubt some one will request one!

They'll announce changes to the Christmas relaxation I imagine...

Char2015 · 19/12/2020 13:13

No mixing at Christmas.

Hapixmas · 19/12/2020 13:15

Fucking ridiculous. So fed up. I understand why we shouldn't be mixing. But he literally confirmed Wednesday that Christmas bubbles are still on. Why change it 3 days later. He knew what the situation was. People have spent money on food, travel etc...
I wonder what they'll do about people who will be alone?

Hapixmas · 19/12/2020 13:15

Also why don't they ever give a time?

SophieB100 · 19/12/2020 13:17

Last time they gave us a time on a Saturday, Boris rocked up two hours late!

Talisin · 19/12/2020 13:18

It’s at 4pm

Char2015 · 19/12/2020 13:18

4pm

tootyfruitypickle · 19/12/2020 13:18

He’s got to cancel the bubble idea. It’s madness.

ILoveMyMonkey · 19/12/2020 13:19

Daily mail -I know, I know, I’m sorry- are suggesting that they will ban travel for tier 3 people in south east Sad

Matilda03 · 19/12/2020 13:19

I'm guessing they'll really stress this new strain and how it now means that tier 3 areas are being put under a travel ban. Some people I know have already started their Christmas mixing so not sure they can fully cancel it.

100% agree.
SophieB100 · 19/12/2020 13:21

So, 4 pm but he's meeting with his Cabinet before then - so it'll be more like 7 Grin
Chris Whitty and Patrick Vallance also.

Gonna be grim.

Considering they shouldn't be mixing right now as not within the relaxation guidelines, they sure can fully cancel it.
poshme · 19/12/2020 13:22

I don't think he should cancel bubbles.

Some of us have begun carefully self isolating & reducing contacts so we can see family in 4 days.

Some of us have been following the rules to the letter and are desperate to see family.

If he cancels bubbles people will just ignore the rules.

Let's hope it doesn't delay Strictly again. Grin

I hope he’s factored in the strictly final!

(Yes, I know, need to sort my priorities.)

SophieB100 · 19/12/2020 13:25

Postpone the final of Strictly!
Boris wouldn't dare.

Hayeahnobut · 19/12/2020 13:26

@poshme Unfortunately the virus doesn't follow rules. Most people that catch the virus have also been following them.

Exactly. I won't break the rules so this will just sky rocket my mental health because I've been so careful leading up to Christmas.
poshme · 19/12/2020 13:28

How would I catch the virus when I'm not seeing anyone?

The people coming to visit me have been at home- going nowhere for 10 days so far. No shopping, no visits, nothing.

How are they a risk?

nosswith · 19/12/2020 13:28

I expect he will turn up late. He cannot even pull out in time!

Seems he is panicking. If he had acted after the SAGE recommendations of 21 September within a week, there would be thousands fewer cases now.

OverTheRainbow88 · 19/12/2020 13:28

Some of us have begun carefully self isolating & reducing contacts so we can see family in 4 days.

Unfortunately that wasn’t an option for most of us

Whattimeisdinner · 19/12/2020 13:29

What the hell now.

Remmy123 · 19/12/2020 13:30

They just want to shit people up enough so that they won't mix - people hang off the government's every word dont they.
