@chri55ie Ultimo memento again! I was just coming on to post the same; I've been checking his Twitter feed regularly too as he's been pretty reliable so far.

I'm very intrigued by the mysterious Christian Martin. His Twitter feed seems to be mostly sports journalism with occasional vaccine news.

CornishYarg · 30/12/2020 00:40

Momento not memento!

Mynxie · 30/12/2020 07:01

It’s been confirmed by BBC!!

TeaInTheGarden · 30/12/2020 07:05

Thanks for being a lovely thread in the midst of all the doom.

FourTeaFallOut · 30/12/2020 07:09

Brilliant! GrinGrin

ChristmasinJune · 30/12/2020 07:10

Hooray!!!! Turned the news on as soon as I woke up. Great news, now let's see how fast we can get it to people.

twirlbite · 30/12/2020 07:13

Thank you so much!Smile

TeaInTheGarden · 30/12/2020 07:15

Matt Hancock on sky news saying they will get it into people's arms as quickly as it can be made. He’s confident that the most vulnerable will be covered by spring...!
Also great news about the 12 week gap, and that one dose is “highly effective”!!

mrshonda · 30/12/2020 07:15

Hurray!

MarcelineMissouri · 30/12/2020 07:16

🎉🎉🎉

tootyfruitypickle · 30/12/2020 07:19

They’re giving one dose initially to all vulnerable , rather than two doses before moving onto next group. So speeds up getting all vulnerable protected

GrumpySausage · 30/12/2020 07:19

It's been approved! Breaking news on BBC! Oh the relief!

GrumpySausage · 30/12/2020 07:20

Oh sorry, everyone else's posts hadn't loaded. I thought you were all quiet! 😁😁

TheChineseChicken · 30/12/2020 07:27

Fantastic news, especially the plan to get one dose into as many people as possible

FourTeaFallOut · 30/12/2020 07:33

One dose is enough to protect from illness and reduced hospitalisations to 0 in the trial, it will be amazing if they can start rolling this out en masses quickly.

chri55ie · 30/12/2020 07:34

I am actually enjoying watching the news this am. Well done everyone for keeping positive! So happy!

Deliaskis · 30/12/2020 07:38

YIPEEEE! I've not posted on here much because I've felt a bit gloomy in recent weeks and so tired of trying to counter the doom that seems to be everywhere (although still i knew we would get to this day eventually), but I've been reading this thread and am so happy for today's news.

Fantastic news, especially good fodder for you good news people!

TeaInTheGarden · 30/12/2020 07:43

40 million doses by end of March.
So if what Matt Hancock says is true about being limited only by speed of manufacture, does that mean we (adults) could potentially all have a first dose by March/April?!

tootyfruitypickle · 30/12/2020 07:48

I think that just doing the vulnerable with one dose will take til Easter. But that’s enough to protect the NHS and ease some restrictions . I think they then need to give second dose and move on to the rest of us but not absolutely sure on that. It does mean next winter will not be like this!

FourTeaFallOut · 30/12/2020 07:49

66 million in UK - 18.9% of under 16 = 53m - 20% those who don't want it = 42.4m (Ish)

Pomegranatespompom · 30/12/2020 07:53
