I know I am not alone in this. It's just another shitty day in this bloody nightmare.
BlackPetunia · 01/11/2020 00:44
I agree!
Glitter and tinsel and a bit of turkey won’t make things any easier
Peppafrig · 01/11/2020 00:45
I hear you it will just be even more depressing when Christmas is over and there is nothing to look forward too. January is usually depressing enough .
imtired1234 · 01/11/2020 00:45
This lockdown is absolutely pointless and especially since there not closing schools... My baby is due before it will end I better not have to give birth alone I am fuming also my partner lives far away so won't be able to see him until the baby is like a few weeks old
Quaagars · 01/11/2020 00:46
I do.
I like Christmas, and I want us to be able to go over to my Mum and Dad's.
What with them and us, that makes 6 I'm happy with that if that can go ahead.
SeverusSnape1 · 01/11/2020 00:47
Me neither, but watch out op, the stasi mumsnetters who can WFH in their cushy jobs will run in here to tell you how important Christmas is for them...
HotToCold · 01/11/2020 00:47
@imtired1234
Parents can still see there children
TheFairyGarden · 01/11/2020 00:47
This lockdown is absolutely pointless
Why is it pointless?
BlackPetunia · 01/11/2020 00:48
Rule of 6 has gone for now hasn’t it?
After 4 weeks of this light lockdown I think it will be no change of stats so further lockdown and schools closed til jan
AnyFucker · 01/11/2020 00:49
The "carrot" of Christmas. I'd like to shove it where the sun don't shine.
BigPlanes · 01/11/2020 00:49
I’m not arsed either. I know several people who are super bothered but I’m already bored of all the Christmas chat.
Quaagars · 01/11/2020 00:50

Yes, rule of 6 gone for now - the lockdown says no mixing at all indoors and outdoors from Thursday I think.
BlackPetunia · 01/11/2020 00:50
Why is it pointless? Because it’s not lockdown with millions of kids teachers and associated families all in a covid fog spreading it around
It’s a very light lockdown. Til dec2, when I think the big one will come
My opinion and thoughts only
TiddyTid · 01/11/2020 00:50
With you OP. Bigger fish to fry this year. Always next year to make up for it
ineedaholidaynow · 01/11/2020 00:50
Why does your partner live so far away if you are having a baby @imtired1234
mrshoho · 01/11/2020 00:51
I like the day but not the excess of it all. I agree the 'let's save Christmas' message is stupid.
AnyFucker · 01/11/2020 00:52
I hate Christmas every year but having it dangled tantalisingly like some wonderful gift if we all behave is really pissing me off
AnyFucker · 01/11/2020 00:54
I would like to swop this Christmas, and every Christmas, for Covid to never have happened. Wouldn't that be swell ?
DeRigueurMortis · 01/11/2020 00:54
I hate this idea that we are doing this now to "save Christmas".
We doing to save lives and frankly I'll be furious if the restrictions are lifted to an extent that hundreds of thousands of people will be travelling round the country, mixing households to celebrate one day.
The truth as I see it is that life is going to be restricted until we get a vaccine.
There's no point sugar coating it.
imtired1234 · 01/11/2020 00:54
@BlackPetunia it's not a "light" lockdown there shutting all shops except supermarkets there closing pubs there closing everything like how it was in the beginning apart from schools which to me is stupid because ... do they think it's some sort of safe place... do they think children are immune... are the parents who drop them off and pick them up immune... are the teachers immune..🥴🥴🥱🤦♀️ No. I understand education is important but doing a lockdown because it's apparently necessary and not closing the schools aswell is just pointless and dumb. Borris said once again people should not leave there homes unless it's to get essentials or go to work and is encouraging people to work from home just like before. There's nothing "light" about it.
BlackPetunia · 01/11/2020 00:54
Let’s save Christmas sounds like a promise
Save Christmas = family get togethers = new year lockdown til spring
BlackPetunia · 01/11/2020 00:56
I think it’s ‘light’ lockdown because the schools are still open
Close the schools and then yes, it’s full lockdown
mac12 · 01/11/2020 00:57
Yup, it’s like we’re kids they need to tempt with a treat after we’ve taken our medicine. Just want some honesty & fucking competence from them. Let’s sack off Christmas this year, other religions sacrificed their big days, and let’s focus on sorting out this shitshow. I also think the whole Christmas thing is v bad taste this year when so many families are going to be on the breadline by then.
AnyFucker · 01/11/2020 00:58
It sticks in my fucking craw
toiletpaper · 01/11/2020 00:59
@SeverusSnape1
I'm a nurse and likely to be working Christmas Day or at least the day before or after. I absolutely love Christmas and I want it to go ahead as normally as possible.
lollipoprainbow · 01/11/2020 00:59
I so agree ! It's just one day.
