Where the hell is Boris?

London has been in tier 2 for two weeks today, rumors of move to tier 3.

Numerous other areas moving into tier 2 or 3.

Furlough ending tomorrow.

Surely there should have been some kind of update or announcement from this sorry excuse for a government?

‘Responsible Prime Minister’ what’s that then? Not a concept I’m familiar with...

He's probably speaking to his own back bench MPs. The likes of Graham Brady, the backbench 1922 committee - who pushed so hard for him to ignore the advice of the medical and scientific experts because of their shortsighted false economy.

The rise in the 45-60 age in hospital is noticeable. That age group makes up a sizeable proportion of the workforce. Many with young children too.

Furlough extended

Didn’t get what is happening with furlough plus other scheme

Report
nancy75 · 31/10/2020 19:16

I think it’s the original furlough extended - not sure if it’s gov paying full 80% or some gov & some employer (employer is paying 20% at the moment)

Did he say over 60's to stay home from work?

It's not a lockdown.

Just another incompetent false economy no lessons learnt fudge. A fudge that will cause this to drag out for far longer than necessary.

Borders wide open, schools, etc.

Putting the livelihoods of hospitality workers and businesses at risk....for nothing.

If only they listened to Professor Sridhar.

Are support bubbles still a thing? Am I about to be alone with my kids for weeks again, including the anniversary of my husband’s death? I’m pretty much suicidal now anyway, so I don’t suppose it really matters any more.

Just had a look at the government website and it doesn't mention the one person outside so not sure about that, but the bubbles are definitely allowed.

He definitely said one person outside, but him saying it doesn’t mean it’s right

From the guidance as published today:

"You can exercise or visit outdoor public places with the people you live with, your support bubble, or 1 person from another household"

www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november

It does say there will be more detail to follow in parts of that document, but it doesn't lookmas if the main parts will be changing, oies it?

@tunnocksreturns2019 it does matter. Please do not be on your own on such an important anniversary xx My DM is pretty suicidal with DF in a care home. Boris can sod off if he thinks I'm going to leave her on her own mid lockdown.

I hope you are ok. Have you got a support network around you who you can contact if you're feeling alone? Can't imagine how you're feeling but you do matter Thanks xxx

Oh that's good @AuntieStella I knew he said it but wasn't sure if it was right. That will be helpful for people who are feeling lonely.

Strange that they are so keen for us to exercise & yet are closing things like tennis courts - you don’t get much more socially distant than tennis!
