With a link to the previous header for all the great links to data -

And with a polite plea to keep the focus on data and analysis if you please.

thanks all

If they managed to get watched threads and bookmarking working properly on the app, that would be something.

AnyFucker · 10/11/2020 17:30

I am not using the app and watching threads is unwieldly, IMO.

No more derailing. Back to the important business (but thanks to those who thought that poster was a tad rude).

CarpeVitam · 10/11/2020 17:37
@Ijustcantcope the reason I am placemarking and not simply bookmarking is to keep the thread on Threads I'm On instead of constantly losing it off the bottom of active threads

I don't have anything useful to say but am appreciating other people's great contributions

On such a fast moving thread, I really don't think just skipping over the odd "." is really as onerous as you say
Exactly! 🙄

Piggywaspushed · 10/11/2020 17:37

I have a thread I actually started and it is constantly dropping off my Threads I'm On because we revisit monthly. I might start putting the odd . to regenerate it. Hadn't thought of this genius really before until people started casting aspersions on anyfucker. Top tip.

Ijustcantcope · 10/11/2020 17:45

Well if we all did it every thread would just be one long . Hmm

NeurotrashWarrior · 10/11/2020 18:01

@ancientgran

How will the LAs allocate the 10%, does anyone know. I wonder if it is just going to be a first come first served thing or will it be planned.

I was told by someone who had received a letter in a professional capacity that locally, they're testing hpc staff twice weekly.

RedRedRobinBobbin · 10/11/2020 18:05

I like watched threads and using a web browser you click watch and it comes to the top of your watched threads whether you were already watching it or not.

Can you see it from this link? I’m not sure if they’ve released it from the paywall or I’m logged in so can see it...

I could read it, thank you.

@AnyFucker I'd always assumed your .s were morse code and the gap between your . posts represented any necessary -s. I've had a team of analysts on it for weeks to try to decipher the message.

😆 @boys3

WhyNotMe40 · 10/11/2020 18:18

Sorry to derail, but is it me, or is there no update for today yet?

MissAHannigan · 10/11/2020 18:19

Not yet. Data is getting later.

Choux · 10/11/2020 18:21

21,350 positives today and 194 deaths.

Is the wait 15 mins as data is updating q thing of the past now?

Choux · 10/11/2020 18:22

I think those are yesterday's

20,412 cases and 532 deaths.

Deaths have jumped up.

Augustbreeze · 10/11/2020 18:24

Cases definitely plateauing at least?

Racoonworld · 10/11/2020 18:34

Deaths are always up on a tuesday because of the weekend lag. Cases definitely plateauing which is good.

Cantaloupeisland · 10/11/2020 18:39

Do we know what hospital admissions are looking like? I'd say that's more important in some ways than case numbers as a vast majority of those 20,412 won't be particularly ill

And I'm about to do the same as it keeps disappearing for me too.

Sorry in advance for future tiny dots Smile

1366 admissions (either with or for covid) 13617 in total in hospital now with or for covid.
ancientgran · 10/11/2020 18:57

Sorry in advance for future tiny dots Not sure why tiny dots are such an issue.

QuentinWinters · 10/11/2020 19:01

I think the cases appear to be plateaued because of a fall in nations apart from England. England looks like its peaking now maybe

MRex · 10/11/2020 19:02

We talked about Slovakia's mass testing. I can't help but notice the big mass of cases don't seem to be added to their stats. Does anyone have a theory or actual knowledge?

herecomesthsun · 10/11/2020 19:28

We are missing a large number of the positives. 2 or 3 weeks ago, the numbers tested daily with new infections were 20k or so, but the surveys were suggesting there were in fact 50-100k or so new cases daily in the community.

So the national survey figures are key as they may reflect the true incidence/ prevalance in the community more accurately. We will have higher deaths for a while reflecting the 100k figure (500 deaths would be the equivalent of 0.5% dying if 100k were infected).

Qasd · 10/11/2020 19:36

I think that the picture is very mixed in England, London seems to be level and north west actually in decline, but the south east outside of London seems to still r going up sane with the south west so the picture generally mixed but def not doubling nationwide every week so better generally than where we were.
