Anyone NOT know someone whose had it?

I've obviously heard stories of someone who knows someone whose tested positive but I don't know anyone personally whose had it and no cases so far in either the primary school or the secondary school my DC attend.

I'm fully expecting this to change any day now with the cases going up but just wondered how many others don't know of any cases close to them.

I'm in the SW in case anyone's interested.

South East, don’t know anyone who has tested positive.

Paddingtonthebear · 16/10/2020 16:12

Don’t know anyone, south coast but cases rising rapidly here

I think I must be super unlucky. My grandparents got it just as the UK locked down in March. Then we got it because DP brought it home from work (funeral company, 30 of them got it and one died). Then DP's sister's family got it, so her, her DH and their son.

They're the confirmed ones. Obviously there are a lot who 'suspect' they had it - many of whom don't realise just how many viruses with similar symptoms there are out there!

In the first wave I knew one person from work with it. I know too many now, all in the last 2 weeks.

My mum, currently in hospital, caught it while in 😢
13 positive tested in one of our companies factories, personally know 2 of the people.
2 people from our offices (both WFH so not related infections)
My sisters bridesmaid, my sister is now isolating
Several people at one of our local suppliers. 1 someone I know.
One of ds's friends parents I've known since primary
One of the coaches at ds's old football club

(also 2 guys in our offices in India, one recovered, 2nd headed into hospital on Tuesday)

I know loads as well. About 7 personally, know of quite a few more, and about 30-40 at my DPs work. All flu like, cold like or asymptomatic.

Jrobhatch29 · 16/10/2020 16:28

We actually think if you tested all of my DPs work there would be loads - factory.

East Berkshire - I do not know anyone who has had it or known they had it. I do not have kids nor really know people who do as I know a few local schools have either closed completely or closed some years.

EnglishRain · 16/10/2020 16:38

I have a friend who's friend's baby had it. That's the closest for me, and they don't live nearby.

Attictroll · 16/10/2020 19:02

SE here know loads of people v I'll in March who think they had it but no one was being tested then. We know one friend of a friend whose 94 year old father got it and survived 😊

Littleposh · 16/10/2020 19:17

Well I bloody jinxed that, sister in law has just got a positive result today 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ said she has a tight chest at the start of the week but she suffers from asthma so that's common for her and she felt a bit off. None of the big 3 symptoms as yet

pettyprudence · 16/10/2020 19:33

I am in Cardiff, I do not personally know anyone who has had it here, nor any family or friends across the UK. There still haven't been any known cases in my childrens primary school which I think is pretty good going. My brother has been tested twice but negative both times. I feel very lucky as, like many, I am worried for some immediate family and friends.

loulouljh · 16/10/2020 19:36

In the South..don't know anyone who has had it!

TheFormidableMrsC · 16/10/2020 19:44

Until this week I didn't know anybody who has had Covid. Now one friend who works in the NHS has been tested positive this week. I'm in Herts.

redvest · 16/10/2020 19:45

My skating coach, and her dh. I guess she was in contact with a lot of people in March

Feellikedancingyeah · 16/10/2020 19:58

Don't know anyone in our friends or family. A close family member is a school caretaker who worked right through lockdown.

Flev · 17/10/2020 08:28

I don't know of anyone - and I'm in Nottinghamshire, and know loads of people in Nottingham.

BiddyPop · 17/10/2020 08:35

It’s only this week that I know someone who has it, and that’s someone I knew from school, haven’t seen in over 25 years and lives 2.5 hours away from me.

nighttrains · 17/10/2020 08:37

I don't know, or know of, anybody who has had it.
