Ocado tips, hacks, Toblerone and Christmas

Still no email about the Christmas slots.

Not had a single offer of shortbread!

At my final(ish) edit for tomorrow I've been offered.....Ocado Life. [I think my orders get fulfilled from Avonmouth]

AND they've stopped selling protractors (and geometry sets). The buyers clearly don't have careless teens who like breaking things in lockdown.

You can get (aargh) pink or blue themed multipacks with geometry sets in, but they can't be found unless you search for Helix or Oxford - searching for geometry or maths doesn't find them.

Rats, I didn't think to look for Helix etc. I should have thought of that.

Luckily (if somewhat unfairly for the booksellers and toy shops) our local WH Smith had loads. I've not seen it as busy in years!

Is it just me or is everyone else finding out they can't add another tub of yoghurt to their order in 6 weeks time as you've had the last one? I'm starting to feel grateful that I did put nearly I wanted in my basket when I booked the slot - I get that I can't add more yoghurt to my reserved slot this week but 5-6 weeks time???

Jumped ship and have a Sainsburys order coming this morning. Only one (sensible) sub, dates are out for when to book Christmas slots, substitution refund policy is clear. Fingers crossed for actual delivery.

I've had no emails from Ocado re:flash sale, nothing on my last order about shortbread or other free gifts. I think they've forgotten me.

Just had the fabulous idea to check out next weeks order for the free biscuit.......
......And I still haven't got them.

I wasn’t a chosen one for the toblerones or the shortbread it seems.

Just after saying Ocado were back in my good books I was a victim of the "warehouse technical difficulties" today. I only got one from every "2 for" deal so had to send them back rather than pay the inflated single price item. Plus no bread. Wouldn't you assume that for a loaf of white sliced bread, any brand would do? So much for trying to avoid going shopping.

In fairness they tried to call but I was in the garden and didn't hear. So I also got a passive aggressive email saying they would have liked to have helped me if only they had been able to contact me...

There's no bloody mincemeat at all before Christmas apparently to make mince pies!!!!

Relieved I started gathering Christmas cake ingredients at the end of Summer.

Shame about the sherry. They seemed to have plenty of port yesterday - was weird to see the M&S offerings amongst them.

My love affair with Ocado is waining since the M&S switchover. I didn’t think I would miss Waitrose products too badly but I’ve found the quality of some of the M&S substitute products doesn’t match Waitrose. And worse, the seem to stopped selling some other brands, not just Waitrose own brand. Trying to do my Xmas order and found no Dickinson & Morris pork pies and no John Ross smoked salmon - largely replaced with M&S own brand products.

And there is a shocking amount of Christmas produce that’s out of stock already, in mid November.

Think I may switch allegiance to Waitrose in the new year...

I mean seriously Ocado, know your market.

To have no mincemeat and sherry mid November is suicide

Off to look up dickinson and Morrison pork pies.

Just did an order off the back of the promise of short bread. Nothing.

My only option for a free gift was an Ocado magazine :(

Oh! Just remembered, editing my order earlier today I was offered 50p off a tin of shortbread.

Thoroughly put in my place ...

No free gift here either.
@PoulePouletteEternellement I do t want to burst your bubble but I noticed in my local M&S food hall earlier the stag tin of shortbread is being sold at £5 (not an offer) rather than the Ocado price of £5.50!

Just had a look at mincemeat.
Not only is it out of stock, but what a disappointing supply if it was in stock. Only a couple of jars. I’m willing to bet I could go to Aldi and have a choice of a dozen different varieties; extra brandy, extra cherries, luxury, basic......

This Christmas offering is not good enough.

Only choice of 3 mincemeat for me a 2 out of stock.

My Ocado has enough sherry to sink a ship - about a dozen varieties. Only one variety of mincemeat, but I see another was on offer at half price and now out of stock. I wonder if they are trying to shift longer life seasonal products quickly, so they can restock the warehouses with other goods pre 1st January.

Theres lots of sherry but no cream sherry which is the one I like to sink with a mince pie . All of that is out of stock unless you pay over 20 quid for half a bottle of pedro ximinez.
