So Hope Hicks tested positive on Thursday. Trump knew he’d been in prolonged close contact with her with no masks and carried on travelling about after he knew about her positive test. Seems irresponsible.

“ Trump then continued with his schedule Thursday and traveled to and from his Bedminster, New Jersey golf resort to take part in two campaign events. He flew back to the White House this evening”

That’s a worrying thought that actually this could be used for a positive spin for him. Might help him get more votes. People here felt sorry for Boris when it looked like he might die.

Yep agree 100% I think if he has super mild symptoms this is going to make his attitude towards it so much worse

Yes, but he’s totally promoted a culture of limited mask wearing for the people around him. He hates masks and tells others to take them off.

I saw a video Yesterday of him Telling one of the press house reporter pack to take his mask off when he was asking Trump a question. Trump was claiming he couldn’t hear him as he was too muffled. Which seemed like bullshit as he was perfectly audible. The reporter refused to take the mask off and Trump was not happy.

I wondered that too. The timing of it, during the election period, a cynic might say (if it does pan out to be mild) that it might be a very politically astute move to have tested positive and kicked it. And the only way to guarantee that is with a fake result. Obviously we'll never know, unless it turns out to be a genuinely serious case. So sad when you have that level of distrust in to level politics.

(I still seem to be surrounded by people who think their mask protects them, and as they're ok with taking their chances they think it's ok to go without and never mind who else they are putting at risk; so I do tend to leap in based on that)

We don't know if he is symptomatic, do we?

If he's well but isolated, he can carry on as president (online), if not then Pence steps in.

But what happens about the election? What if Biden gets it too? What happens if lots of politicians and officials come down with it in the next two or three weeks?

He's more fortunate than most 74 year olds in that he'll receive every available treatment and have 24 hour medical attention if needed.

I can't help but feel cynical also about the timing. I can't believe it took this long for him to catch it after the way he's been carrying on this year.
