what does this mean when it shows up on the NHS site. I am in the Manchester area.

Literally just kept refreshing on the Drive through test page and 114 slots magically appeared.
Keep at it people!
Thanks for the advice everyone.

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 11/09/2020 10:22

Heathrow has just come up with 80+ slots but as its 60miles away, I'm not prepared to travel that far (especially when there is a test centre 1.5miles from my house)

UnalliterativeGeorge · 11/09/2020 10:22

Did you get confirmation it had booked?!

Bezzyk7 · 11/09/2020 10:24

I've just had the same problem. Think I have booked as it asked for my car registration but then took me back to the first page.
Has anyone had email confirmation?

CoffeeandChocolateplease · 11/09/2020 10:32

Bezzyk7 same problem here. I managed to get a slot and put in the reg number, I thought it all went through. No confirmation email - last time we had a test it came through immediately, so I have no idea if it's booked or not. My son has an asthma cough, which has worsened this morning, so sure it's not covid but of course school want us to be sure and I don't blame them at all. It's so frustrating.

Quail15 · 11/09/2020 10:36

I haven't had a confirmation either. I took a screen shot of the time and location. I'm going to drive there for the appointment. I'm not sure what else to do.

Sharpandshineyteeth · 11/09/2020 10:37

Booked my tests now 😊

user1471530109 · 11/09/2020 10:45

@Quail15

I haven't had a confirmation either. I took a screen shot of the time and location. I'm going to drive there for the appointment. I'm not sure what else to do.
Can you redo it? I had this issue and panicked and redid the booking. I then got 3 texts (3 tests) and 3 emails with instructions in. You need a QR code etc to enter site. I think that's why some people were turned away in front of me yesterday.
DanceWithYourBalloon · 11/09/2020 10:52

I got a text and an email confirming our appointment

Bumblesbumbles · 11/09/2020 10:53

Same here- no confirmation and I got to stage of putting in car reg. this is crazy!

ginberry4 · 11/09/2020 11:00

People whose screens went back to the beginning- this happened to me last night & I didn’t get any sort of confirmation.

I’ve just successfully booked at my local centre for this afternoon & have had email confirmation of appointment with a QR code so if you don’t have that I’d assume you weren’t successful this time. Keep on trying!

ChaChaCha2012 · 11/09/2020 11:01

Please can everybody send their experiences to their MPs. Hancock is still in denial that there's a problem, despite so much evidence to the contrary. It only takes two minutes to send an email, tell them he's talking shit and there is a problem and it's wrecking our working lives and our children's education.

CoffeeandChocolateplease · 11/09/2020 11:12

I have tried phoning 119 to check if my booking has gone through but theycouldn't tell me, so I will keep on trying and see if I need to make another booking. I will email my MP, I can't be going through this every time his allergies/asthma flare up. I completely support the school, but this system is not working.

MummyFriend · 11/09/2020 11:15

These are currently available in case anyone is looking in these areas:

Heathrow (drive in only)

E2 Staff Car Park, Eastern Perimeter Road, Longford
Hounslow
TW6 2SQ

28 slots available.

Former Tower Ballroom Car Park - Mobile Unit

Former Tower Ballroom Car Park, Osler Street
Edgbaston
B16 9EU

16 slots available.

Unfortunately they are nowhere near me so we're still trying! 😫

SistemaAddict · 11/09/2020 11:16

I've emailed my useless MP. I doubt he will get back to me but I tried.

Bumblesbumbles · 11/09/2020 11:20

Heathrow ones aren’t real- if you click on it says no time slots available

DisorganisedOrganiser · 11/09/2020 11:31

Just emailed my MP. He is conservative and always follows the party line so am not expecting any acknowledgement of the situation.

Jaxhog · 11/09/2020 11:34

I've had that in Bucks too. I tried refreshing several times during the day and still get the same message. And they've just shut our only drop-in centre not listed on the Gov list) and the other 'temporary' testing van didn't turn up at our other (also unlisted) site.

I do wonder exactly who IS getting tested? Is it the same people over and over?

Bumblesbumbles · 11/09/2020 11:36

And this isn’t even the start of winter when Even more chaos will ensue!

Quail15 · 11/09/2020 12:01

@user1471530109 thank you for your advice.

I tried to re book after no confirmation from my Gatwick slot but no more available.

However I have just managed to book an evening slot at Rochester and got a confirmation email. What a crazy and stressful process this has been.

Good luck everyone else who is still trying to book x

DisorganisedOrganiser · 11/09/2020 12:02

Why is this not headline news? This is catastrophic that it is incredibly difficult to get a test as we approach autumn and winter and schools have just gone back.

MayFayre · 11/09/2020 12:31

Some tests showing at the moment in Edgbaston but too far away for us to get there in time.

Agree, this should be national news. I’m planning to tweet and pester news networks this afternoon.

MayFayre · 11/09/2020 12:44

Where is the Daily Fail when you need them?

elfycat · 11/09/2020 12:48

Trying to get DD2 checked (woke this morning with a probable cold, cough, temp, etc etc). In Suffolk. Nearest appt after many refreshes was Rochester. They say 60 miles. More like 100 and the other side of the Dartford tolls.

A 4 hour round trip with an ill 9 year old. Nope. plus it went in seconds

But it's 14 days if we don't get her tested. Nightmare.

DisorganisedOrganiser · 11/09/2020 12:51

MayFayre sadly it’s in bed with the Tories! I don’t think this fits into it’s usual style of NHS bashing as it appears to be the organisation of the system and the lack of processing capacity at fault and not individual members of staff.

I’ve emailed BBC breakfast too to ask them to please cover this fiasco.
