Its been so confusing and I actually didn't know what the current rules were. I don't know anyone who didn't go back to almost living life normally since like July 🤦🏻‍♀️

I will listen and stick to 6 people as thats clear and shows a clear message of what might happen otherwise.

Will have to as we had an event for 30 people organised in a function room in 11 days time. Nightmare as it is people travelling from all over the country and everyone has paid for hotel rooms.

Yep, we just this weekend put plans into place for DDs 18th after waiting and waiting and now these are not possible. We’d only planned a meal out but we’d be 7 people which isn’t allowed now. Seems unfair that 6 different households is fine but 7 people made up of 2 households isn’t.

Yes Shane because ending the two household rule means it’s illegal to meet up our family of four with sil and her family of four or my brothers,wife and kids. It feels very harsh as it stops for many meeting family which the two household rule did not

No - well, we have a delayed lunch for my DF's 70th planned for the end of the month and there will be 7 of us (including one year old DS). We might just do it anyway on the basis that my DPs will have been quarantined for two weeks (after holiday) and the rest of us will have been WFH or on leave. Other than that, no plans to change. I was rather hoping they'd make the limit even smaller so we didn't have to see the in laws for a while but sadly not.

Not sure. Was planning on having a bonfire with another family in a field. Seems mad to cancel it seeing as it's outside - but it would definitely be breaking the rules.

It was only supposed to be up to 6 people outdoors anyway, unless only 2 households were mixing, so I don't see how it's much different? Also, I guess this means you can now have 6 people from different households meeting indoors which previously wasn't allowed?

It all feels like semantics, but I guess it does at least make it easier for then to count and see who is breaking the rules.

Was this allowed under previous rules? It all seems so unclear to me.

Well it's looking like we will have to cancel the meal we were having to remember my FIL, who died in April. Couldn't have a meal or anything then due to restrictions. Was planned for beg October on what would have been his birthday - us (though Dd will have moved to student flat so possibly not even our household at that point?!) and mil, plus bil (who currently lives with mil over lockdown) and his two girls (I assume they count as his household although they live with their mum but visit dad - it's a fairly new arrangement hence bil staying with mil.) but that's 7 people, not 6. So another important way to remember FIL May now be cancelled - it's just awful, again.

So I can spend a full day on and out classrooms with 90+ young children in a day but I can't go and remember my FIL with 6 other people - ridiculous really when you actually look at it.

Supposed to be going to a wedding as well in September - was rearranged from May.

DH will be happy he can't come with DDs and me when we visit my parents (my brother lives there too). Wink

We had just arranged a halloween party, which would be 8 from 2 households. Will see how that goes.

You've used a lot of risk 'budget' during the classroom exposure, so no you can't then use more budget mixing with other people.

Weddings are exempt I think, and hopefully by October and the meal you have planned it will have changed so you can have it.

It will have a major impact on the recreation company I work for as at the moment we can have 2 households playing together.

We get lots of families and students so often have more than 6 people all within the guidelines.

Our already hugely reduced margins will effectively be non existant on groups of 6 only, plus I doubt we will get many bookings as it's a group activity.

There is a list of exemptions. I hope government will be providing support to them then, especially as many have invested a lot of money in becoming 'covid safe'.
