My DP is, I can't say exactly what he does as it would be outing but he works in motorsport.

bigchris · 28/06/2020 16:49

I've got a couple of friends who work in academia, university admin, they've been furloughed until October

My sister in law works in a nail bar and is still on furlough, same as her sister who works in a gym

I think our local leisure centre, the life guards etc have been furloughed according to the local paper

RyanStartedTheFire · 28/06/2020 16:51

Still furloughed in lower retail management. Just about to start a new job though as I think my old role will be made redundant in the next few months.

Duckfinger · 28/06/2020 16:51

My friends son is a kitchen fitter and still furloughed. Presumably because people don't want strangers in their homes at the moment.
Can ask why you said not teaching? I'm a TA and none of us or the teachers, office staff etc in school have been furloughed we have worked all the way through about 6 or 7 of the worst weeks in every other day but for a month or so now everyday.

ginsparkles · 28/06/2020 16:51

Retail. I'm on part time furlough

ArriettyJones · 28/06/2020 16:54

STBXH is. He works in the media. He is looking for new roles, though, as he doesn’t expect to go back to that one. Unfortunately everything is dead in his sector ATM. It’s complicating our divorce.

CamomileTease · 28/06/2020 16:54

I work for a charity which is keeping us on furlough as long as possible. I'm desperate to go back as I love my job and team, but I suspect it'll turn into redundancy in a couple of months.

AllsortsofAwkward · 28/06/2020 16:54

Swim teacher do I'm I'm furloughedm just aswell I got the job before lockdown as I'm also self employed swimming teacher.

MaverickDanger · 28/06/2020 16:55

A number in our business are on furlough - we work on construction projects. Some areas are still very busy (utilities, rail) and others are dead (aviation, commercial property) so we are doing our best to spread the workload.

I work in HR so very busy currently & a colleague has been off since March due to lack of childcare. His wife is a key worker so they have a childcare place, but didn’t want to take it. It’s causing many, many issues, particularly as we are topping up to 100%.

Paddingtonthebear · 28/06/2020 16:56

Admin for a sports activity. Still furloughed with no return date yet

SierraHotel · 28/06/2020 16:56

Me, going back on Wednesday. I work in childcare, I've really missed the little people!

Monkeytapper · 28/06/2020 17:00

I’m still on furlough, part time receptionist , Engineering

CurlyhairedAssassin · 28/06/2020 17:05

I was wondering why not teaching too? I am support staff in a secondary school which was closed to pupils until the beginning of this month. Only the lab/DT technicians, reprographics, kitchen staff and TAs had no work to do at all while it was shut for a few weeks, and they have been in FT since 1st June. Before that Office and cleaning staff were in on a rota, finance staff worked remotely all day and of course teachers have not been on furlough either, working all day from home from the start and in now on a rota.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 28/06/2020 17:08

People are forgetting that just because a certain school is closed to YOUR child/ren doesn’t mean to say the staff are sitting at home doing nothing!

Nix2020 · 28/06/2020 17:11

I'm airport staff, I went back Friday on PT furlough. My partner also airport staff different airport is still furloughed

CurlyhairedAssassin · 28/06/2020 17:11

Judging by the number of men in Lycra on bikes I see on my way to work at 8.15 and more people walking in groups or cycling that I see on the way home again, it looks like a lot of people are still on furlough, although the traffic has gradually got busier since the beginning of the month.

123456abcd · 28/06/2020 17:14

I am - charity

Flippinfurloughed · 28/06/2020 17:14

Me - admin in security for construction companies. There’s been a lot of people made redundant last week so I’m relieved to have missed this round, but incredibly nervous to see if that will stay the case.

rooty123 · 28/06/2020 17:41

Me- factory

Torvi · 28/06/2020 17:42

Me. Bookkeeper in the leisure industry.

luminette · 28/06/2020 17:45

Me - charity.

makingmyway10 · 28/06/2020 17:53

I am still furloughed and likely to be until September. I work in an independent school as a Receptionist.

AudacityOfHope · 28/06/2020 17:53

Me. I'm in marketing. I expect/hope to be made redundant by the end of the year so I can hopefully retrain to do something a bit more useful.

Qasd · 28/06/2020 17:54

I have returned, charity but about a quarter of our team still is.

GreyGardens88 · 28/06/2020 17:57

Me, I'm looking for other jobs
