Only know one person who's furloughed, she works as an accounts manager for a small long company. Off until October. I'm currently Working more hours than before but for a lower wage. How fun.

No one in teaching was ever on furlough.
Toomboom · 28/06/2020 18:04

I am. Work in a private school. No idea at the moment when I will go back, looking like September at the moment.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 28/06/2020 18:05

I presume she meant ‘not teaching or hospitality’ because it’s well publicised that though industries aren’t to and running yet. She was probing for more niche jobs.

My brother still is, he works at pinewood studios.

fififorgetmenotforgot68 · 28/06/2020 18:17

Retail...Been on furlough since the beginning of April...Work part time for an high end chain store...Just hope I have a job at the end !

Mightymurphy · 28/06/2020 18:17

Me. Office work. All rounder.

MiniMileyMoo · 28/06/2020 18:20

Me, since May now extended til end Aug. Project management in consultancy engineering - not a lot of work coming from clients and most of my existing projects can't take place at the moment due to social distancing etc. Suits me due to childcare but not totally confident on having a job to go back to, but comms from work have been pretty positive 🤞

JessesGirl · 28/06/2020 18:23

I’m still furloughed - charity retail and not looking like we’re going to open for another month at least.

Blondieg · 28/06/2020 18:24

Me - dental surgery

EnglishGirlApproximately · 28/06/2020 18:27

I am, account manager in the travel industry. Likely to be back part time in August. Looking forward to going back but I know my job will have changed so much it will be a huge learning curve.

missyB1 · 28/06/2020 18:29

I was furloughed, then unfurloughed for 4 weeks, now furloughed again. I work in a private school, They unfurloughed me when the kids starting coming back, but term ends at the end of this week so I'm furloughed again.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 28/06/2020 18:30

I am until July 31 then I'm redundant. Luxury leather goods (think handbags).

imsooverthisdrama · 28/06/2020 18:30

I am I work in finance but it's impacted in the hospitality trade .
I've just been told from July will be flexi furloughed as they hope more work will be available now the industry is starting up again .

acocadochocolate · 28/06/2020 18:31

I am still furloughed from my leisure centre job.

CremeEggThief · 28/06/2020 18:32

Me since March. Clerical work and no return date yet.

Smileyoriley · 28/06/2020 19:13

Charity here too. Talk of some of us going back part time at some point, but who knows?

Kitcat122 · 28/06/2020 20:00

My husband in Engineering.

Lunar567 · 28/06/2020 20:34

If you work for a private school how can you be on furlough if parents still pay school fees as children do distance learning?

JoeExoticsTiger · 28/06/2020 20:43

Me, been furloughed since the beginning. No date of return yet, I’m middle management in the travel industry.

lucysmam · 28/06/2020 21:08

Me, from my second job in school kitchen.

I'm not even sure I'll be able to go back as school re-opens fully (or not) as I do breakfast club but there's no-one I can drop dd2 off to at 6:30 in a morning to be there for 7am (usually she comes with me but we're not allowed to use the little room she usually sits in atm). & I suspect school will keep breakfast 'in house' for the foreseeable future. I definitely won't be going back if it's part time schooling either 🤷‍♀️ just waiting to see what happens over the next few weeks before I hand in my notice.

gingajewel · 28/06/2020 21:35

My oh is furloughed and his manager has said probably till September! He works in manufacturing and I don’t think he will have a job to go back to, however as he has been there a fair few years he needs to hold out for redundancy pay so can’t start looking yet. A catch 22 situation and so uncertain at the moment.

BunsyGirl · 28/06/2020 21:41

@Lunar567 Because private schools have loads of staff other than teachers and many of them are not required when the schools are not open, or not open fully e.g. after school care staff, tennis and swimming teachers and some other sports staff, security - the security team at my DC’s school direct traffic so the full team were not required,
receptionists, cleaners, boarding house staff, dance teachers, lab technicians...

BunsyGirl · 28/06/2020 21:43

@Lunar567 Also, most private schools are not charging full fees. They had to furlough staff to save money.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 28/06/2020 21:45

I am, along with the rest of our team, as we supply to theatre and live entertainment Industries. We have no idea when we will be able to start up again, it is very daunting to have absolutely no control over the future of our business.
