Welcome all. I'm sad that many of us are still here but at least we have each other. The other thread is full, hence this new one.

Welcome anyone else who is struggling with a long recovery from COVID. They're a supportive lot, here.

@Egghead68
Glad the ECG was normal. Hope you’re managing to get the rest you need to recover from the cardio

@Fedupofbed
That’s hilarious – as I was looking through today’s posts I thought “Oooo Vitamin K, haven’t heard of that, maybe should give it a go? Shortly before realizing I have literally nowhere to put any more supplements in our kitchen… plus we have no more money for them.

@TheWooisStrong
Thanks for checking back in again, it’s so lovely to hear when people are feeling better. Congratulations and long may it last!

@Whatnext2018
My worst neuro symptoms were about a month ago, a had 2 weeks of blinding headaches (I never, ever have headaches), brain fog, worse memory. The latter two I still have, but not as bad. The nerve pain I get is in my arms and hands, and I still also get ice block feet even when I’m warm. I would like to get seen by a Neuro for some basic tests I think.

Swollen veins on hands – YES I have this now! It looks really gross. Though not painful.

@Mintypylonsfryingsurplus
Thanks for picking up the sword on our behalf - I'm too exhausted at the moment to have these arguments online, but it does need to be done. Flowers

Moodgie · 09/07/2020 13:57

Yay @TheWooisStrong! So pleased! Please could you let us know what the last things to go were?

Whatnext2018 · 09/07/2020 14:10

@TheWooisStrong Fantastic news! I can’t wait for the day we’re all able to report the same here and move on. Yes, final symptoms please! Did it gradually peter off or you just felt better one day.

@fedupofbed Yes to the veins, I’ve had it a couple of times, aching where my veins were and really bright blue ones when I’m not a veiny person at all (they’ve always struggled to find veins) I got excessively thirsty at the same time, was really odd, but it passed-for now at least.

People with chest pain, how long did it/has it lasted? What is it? Did anyone get it late on-13 weeks plus? I’ve had it for a few weeks now and it’s starting to worry me. Sore in chest and below armpits and round my back, got period today sorer than usual.
Hurts if I sing or even talk too much.

Whatnext2018 · 09/07/2020 14:19

Also (trying to find positives here) is it true that it’s unlikejy we’d be infected again if already had it and recovered? I think I remember that nice medical guy on Youtubr, John? saying it’s unlikely?

AndsLee · 09/07/2020 15:54

Hello all!

@fedupofbed Aye I'm a Scotty! How are you doing bonnie lassie?
@Moodgie Thank you for asking after me...:) xx
Sorry for not replying sooner, your mentions went into my spam folder!

Well, hello all. Hope you're improving...?xx

I'm doing OK. I had an appointment with a CPN and Nurse Practitioner last week, had RAKES of blood taken, all of which have come back fine...of course. I've been referred for an ultrasound for my stomach. Be interesting to see, though I feel my stomach is much better.

Symptom check: Still have this weird struggle with breathing. I am not short of breath, but I still have this snoring sensation, and sometimes feel like my chest is empty and the air isn't going anywhere. I wonder if it's AF...? I am also wondering if it's to do with my glands, which still seem to be "on", though not as frequently or as noticeable now.

I would also love to know what this "throat thing" is, and also have noticed my right nostril is blocked each morning... I had a wee bit of a bleeding nose yesterday, which I have put down to getting back to life. My nose is probably not used to the grime of daily living! I wonder if we have developed nasal polyps??

I think symptoms are definitely connected to periods. However, I am currently on my second proper period since March, and it hasn't been nearly as brutal as the one in May. The one in June didn't really materialise.

I don't seem to have gone into the "cycle of symptoms" again, which is great. So, to summarise...

 • Still have breathing obstruction
 • Empty chest feeling
 • Glands still grumble though not as frequent
oh...and NO RASHES! :)

I have returned to work, and am managing but tend to have a headache at the end of the day. I do get tired. I expected that, not complaining. 85% back to normal I would say. I still just, don't feel..."right"...?

Re my gorgeous guy, he has not fallen ill, and he returned on 18th June, so I'm going to go with...he's OK. I reckon that we are not infectious (or maybe he's asymptomatic).

Good to catch up! I have been trying to get back to normal as best I can so I'm not dipping in so much. I'll keep popping in from time to time though to see how you all are. We are getting better you know... :) xxxx Keep the faith...xxx

Kitcat122 · 09/07/2020 15:55

@Whatnext2018 I have exactly the same chest pain with sob. This is my last symptoms and have had it the whole may through. I wish someone could tell me what is was.

@TheWooisStrong that's great news, thanks for letting us know.

Moodgie · 09/07/2020 16:01

@AndsLee Great news! Smile

Whatnext2018 · 09/07/2020 16:29

@Kitcat122 Did you see the doctor about it or have a scan etc? I’ve an x ray on Wednesday so I’ll let you know. I never really had it badly until a few weeks ago, I’d say it’s my predominant symptom at the moment, although I seem to have gone through them all in turn.

Frankiemintz · 09/07/2020 16:53

My symptoms and tiredness are definitely related to my period. I’m due back at work on the first day of my next period, so I’m wondering what I can do to alleviate the extreme fatigue.

Kitcat122 · 09/07/2020 17:21

@Whatnext2018 I had an xray yesterday 😂

Whatnext2018 · 09/07/2020 17:25

@Frankiemintz Yes, I’ve just come on today and although they’ve been lighter, my chest pain feels more today. Looking back, in March the first day of my period was a really bad day for breathing and anxiety, at the time I had no idea and thought I was highly anxious due to lockdown etc. April’s I can’t remember, I think I may have skipped it. May’s was around 9 weeks in and the worst time I’ve had, I ended up at the doctors that day with numbness all over and feeling as though I was having a panic attack-again it was put down to anxiety back then. June’s I think wasn’t too bad, so it definitely has seemed to it definitely seems to improve with time but there is a connection between worsening of symptoms for lots of people.

Whatnext2018 · 09/07/2020 17:26

Eurgh ignore the repetition above!

@Kitcat122 Oh ha ha, guessing all was clear then? 🙏 what did the docs say about it?

LetsBeSensible · 09/07/2020 17:40

Week 16 my GP apparently does have my blood results in but hasn’t read them yet. Maybe next week.

Whatnext2018 · 09/07/2020 18:31

What are you guys testing for in blood tests at this stage?

Kitcat122 · 09/07/2020 19:02

@Whatnext2018 only had an xray yesterday so no results yet 🤞

fedupofbed · 09/07/2020 19:52

Ha @Whatapickle78 I have vitamin K in there. I think supplement buying has become a form of retail therapy - I don't exactly need new clothes, having lived in the same few t shirts and joggers over the last 4 months.

@AndsLee great to hear from you! I'm so glad that you're doing okay, 85% is great, and lovely that your partner has stayed well too. I think it was actually @godhelpusall who was looking for a Scottish person but not sure why.

SunshineCake · 09/07/2020 19:59

@Whatnext2018

Also (trying to find positives here) is it true that it’s unlikejy we’d be infected again if already had it and recovered? I think I remember that nice medical guy on Youtubr, John? saying it’s unlikely?
My friend has two friends who have it for a second time Hmm. Mildly first time but quite poorly last I heard.
SunshineCake · 09/07/2020 20:43

Wrong emoji there, sorry.

Moodgie · 09/07/2020 20:54

@SunshineCake Were they tested positive? Is it definitely COVID both times?

Egghead68 · 09/07/2020 21:47

@fedupofbed thank you - what a lovely thing to write. I hope your vein problem goes away soon and that you are doing OK

Thank you @whatapickle78

@thewooisstrong woo!!!! Amazing!! I remember all your struggle and I am so happy for you.

@mintypylonsfryingsurplus my blood is boiling!!

SunshineCake · 09/07/2020 21:52
@SunshineCake Were they tested positive? Is it definitely COVID both times?
One was a nurse so I think so but I don't know if both tested.

Whatnext2018 · 09/07/2020 22:17

@SunshineCake Oh really 😳that’s the strange thing, how to know if you get it again or it’s the symptoms coming back? When I look back to March I didn’t know I had it at the time, I thought possibly but had no cough or real temperature, which were the only proper symptoms they were saying at the time. I then was just tired but put it down to anxiety about the whole thing. Around Easter weekend I was really dizzy and had a very strange experience in the middle of the night with the strange, hot fizzy feeling inside my chest and tremors etc..I thought was some kind of panic attack. I didn’t really have much until the start of May when the aching legs and all the nerve and really odd stuff started happening and its been like that ever since really.
I so hope we wouldn’t get better then possibly go through it all again.

Whatnext2018 · 09/07/2020 23:00

Has anyone found they have aanemia during all this? My lips are so pale all the time, when they aren’t normally.
And does anyone else feel completely not with it on waking up most mornings? I find I’m in a weird fuzzy daze for an hour or so whilst I sort Dds breakfast etc

isitorisntit · 09/07/2020 23:43

Hello all. How are we? Still here? 😔. I had my lung xray this week. I was told all looked normal. I asked that the GP call me tomorrow as I'm still getting burning windpipe & chest, costochondritis (yeah, that), neck/upper back aches and pains, migrainey head, numb arm and brain fog (and total loss of talk/thinking thread- I mean nada. Gone), still about 20% smell and taste.

What to ask him tomorrow? I think he must be fed up with me now. Bloods normal (except antibodies), xray normal.

What can they do?

Whatapickle78 · 10/07/2020 00:20

@isitorisntit
Ask for a Neurology referral! If the neuro symptoms sound as strong still as you say, then they should be able to run nerve conduction studies (I’ve had these before, it’s very straightforward) talk you through what’s going on, and maybe offer a CT scan.

You could also ask to be referred to ENT to check throat and chest?

I’m so sorry your symptoms are still so bad. Though I’m glad your lung x ray was normal Flowers
