Carrying on from the last Ocado thread that is about to fill up. Still haven’t been given a toblerone yet.

Delivery due this evening but now worried hearing about all the cancellations yesterday. I saw a tv advert for Ocado a couple of days ago which may explain the increased traffic to the website; I have also had the van/queue when I’ve logged on to amend my order over the last couple of days.

Got my free Percy pigs when I checked out the updated order (doesn’t make up for the lack of toblerone though!) Had already got 2 bags of Connie caterpillar on my order mind you. Three packets of sweets in one week seems a bit excessive, especially as they vanish as soon as opened here.

Can easily get a Waitrose and Ocado slot next week. I haven’t decided which to book yet. There is no alternative to my Waitrose Belgian chocolate with fruit and nuts or veggie wellington so I will be going to Waitrose at least once a month. I had tried them a few times when the change was announced and they were offering money off your first 4 shops. Yes the website is clunky and picked from store meaning shorter dates and more likely to be out of stock, but I thought I would alternate. Then lockdown and couldn’t get a Waitrose slot at all so definitely sticking with Ocado in case of another lockdown. Maybe I’ll try Waitrose once a month for now.

Egghead68 · 02/09/2020 05:53

I’m using a mixture of Waitrose, Tesco and Ocado deliveries.

I’ve never had a problem with the Waitrose site and find it less clunky than Ocado. Fewer missing items too.

BentBastard · 02/09/2020 06:52

Well mine claims to be on its way and on time with just a couple of
M&S subs which are totally live withoutable (although disappointing as I was excited about being able to get hold of them).

They're both more obscure items and are now showing as out of stock all through September so I guess those lines haven't made it over to the warehouse yet.

Wolfcub · 02/09/2020 07:00

Shopping arrived on time this morning with no subs no Percy pigs though even though I edited my order after the email came through yesterday evening

Maybe you edited too late. Think the cut off was 2pm (was for me anyway).

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 02/09/2020 08:29

Ocado order received this am- 2 subs.
One fine and one I accepted and now regret.
Why do I find it so hard to just say No to something I didn't order?
Just hate idea of driver rummaging through my shopping...so I guess on balance I accept it.
And I do know No is a complete sentence and am def not known for being a shrinking violet Grin

FurForksSake · 02/09/2020 08:34

I also did not get free percys! However I snuggly accepted my order last night edited only 24 hours before and including a Colin, mini Colin and two bags of pigs. Van driver said he had the smallest load ever and other customers were showing him what they were excited about, cake mainly!

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 02/09/2020 08:42

I have never tasted a Percy Pig.

Happy to remain pure and unsullied, for the greater good.

BentBastard · 02/09/2020 08:44

I also don't eat Percy Pigs but the kids were very excited about the prospect of Percy Pig treats when they get back from their first day back at school. They won't be a regular feature of my order!

viccat · 02/09/2020 09:41

My order is on its way with 4 of the M&S items not available... one missing completely, one sensible sub, one ok-ish and one really strange - they are sending chorizo instead of olives! To a vegetarian household... Hmm Hard to believe they really had no other olives to send instead.

Anyway, I'm glad most of my weekly shop is there as it's just the stuff I buy every time. At least they have a couple of months to sort out these teething problems before Xmas...

Madcats · 02/09/2020 10:57

My next available slot is 8pm on Saturday 12th (Somerset).

I nipped into my local Tesco Metro this morning. They had a rather large pile of big Toblerones they were trying to sell for £4/each. I suppose there is rather a glut of them getting close to sell by dates if the airports haven't been shifting them for the last 6 months.

eeeyoresmiles · 02/09/2020 14:21

Everything arrived for me today, no subs, free pigs offered on the final checkout yesterday.

But did you click the thing to add them? Just before payment details it comes up with ‘would you like free Percy Pigs’ and you click to add them. If it doesn’t ask you that then no free pig!
BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 02/09/2020 16:25

Free Percy Pigs coming in my next order!

I’ve never tried them - they better be worth it, you lot have got me all excited about them.

They made Piers Morgan all upset.* So therefore they are worth it.

*he was all cross because they were all made vegetarian and it wasn’t made public. He got all pouty like a baby because the fruit flavoured pig face wasn’t made of boiled up bones any more.

BentBastard · 02/09/2020 18:08

They're not all vegetarian, they've just added a vegetarian version.

Egghead68 · 02/09/2020 18:16

All Percies and Colins) are vegetarian now:

Wolfcub · 02/09/2020 18:21

Free Percy pigs are in my order for next week. Woo

BentBastard · 02/09/2020 18:30

So they are. What's different about the vegetarian ones then? Confused

FlamingoAndJohn · 02/09/2020 19:10

Nope. The vegi version was about for years. Then they all quietly went vegi which was what put PMs back up.
FlamingoAndJohn · 02/09/2020 19:11

@BentBastard

Different recipe. When they all went vegi the original vegi recipe changed and it was not as good. I think they have gone back to the old recipe.

Also some people are twats about buying stuff marked vegetarian even when it isn’t an overtly meat based thing.

BentBastard · 02/09/2020 19:53

I feel a fool buying the veggie ones for my daughter now. I know for next time at least.

Onceuponatimethen · 02/09/2020 21:14

So far my view on my m&s for Waitrose swaps is a bit mixed.

Loved the pork steaks but not keen on the cheddar or organic veg which weren’t as tasty.

Dp is keen for us to do a monthly Waitrose shop to try to get the things we will miss

Egghead68 · 02/09/2020 23:20

I think the M&S selection seems more limited than the Waitrose one (for the stuff I like, anyhow).
