Carrying on from the last Ocado thread that is about to fill up. Still haven’t been given a toblerone yet.

@Yellowbutterfly1

Proper Greek yogurt contains live bacteria which is good for gut health. Greek style doesn’t contain any, seems to just be a normal yogurt which has been thickened.
The Rachel’s Greek Style is bio-live, as is the Fage one. Interestingly the Waitrose ones don’t make that claim....
AdaColeman · 31/08/2020 10:55

Real Greek yoghurt is thick and creamy because it has been drained, mock Greek "style" yoghurt has had thickeners added to create the creamy texture.

All yogurt is live yogurt I believe.
bruffin · 31/08/2020 12:39

The only difference between normal yoghurt and greek yogurt is that has been strained through muslin (or similar) which gets rid of the whey and makes it thicker. The only difference between greek style and greek yoghurt is the origin

I bit the bullet and have an order coming tomorrow, including some M&S stuff. So we'll see just how many of those actually show up!

Quarantino · 31/08/2020 16:30

@FlamingoAndJohn

I’ve found that some M&S products are not showing up in the correct category. For example if you go Fresh>salad>coleslaw you don’t get any M&S products. Search for coleslaw and there is loads.
If the Ocado website goes the way of the Boots website I will REVOLT

I am a big fan of things being in their proper category. They're already gaslighting me by telling me I ordered M&S items on 3rd June or whatever date!

Quarantino · 31/08/2020 16:31

BTW I was disappointed not to find those individual M&S Eton Mess desserts (like a trifle type thing with raspberry stuff and meringues on top) - do they still do those in stores? I also miss the ginger sponge puddings, they were fantastic, but haven't seen them in ages.

I am also a big fan of puddings Grin

Just flagging that Daylesford is owned and run by Lady Bamford, wife of Lord Bamford, who owns JCB (big Tory/Vote Leave donors). In case that’s important to anyone. I tend to avoid it. In fact Ocado’s co-founder Tim Steiner... ah well you can google his donations history.

Loyal customers of over 15 years here but not huge fans of M&S, and really not liking the social media presence in the last few months, so considering Waitrose instead.

Thanks for that information. I knew about the Bamfords being pro-Brexit but I didn't know about the Ocado connection with Tim Steiner jointly bankrolling the conservative party election in 2019. Bye bye Ocado.

They surpassed themselves this week; they sent a bottle of soft drink, 2 years out of date. This change over is obviously dredging up old stock.

Mollcat · 01/09/2020 01:00

Lots and lots of people on FB and Twitter tonight who have had an email at 10pm cancelling their orders for tomorrow morning, even when the orders were booked weeks ago. Seems like they've had a bit of a shocker. I've asked for details as I have an order coming tomorrow eve, but of course the answers are all cut & paste. Suspect it's Hatfield CFC which has the issue based on where the raging customers are from! Good luck to anyone expecting e.g. packed lunch ingredients for the rest of the week...

Watching with interest.

I’ve done an extra shop to try it out so have ordered essentials such as marzipan balls, Percy pig, couple of M&S ready meals alongside some bread, milk etc we needed

My order is currently being prepared for 2 till 3 tomorrow

Mollcat · 01/09/2020 02:16

@Ontheboardwalk good luck and fingers crossed for you (and me, somewhat selfishly!)

Oooh not good.

I can see the change over causing some issues but it shouldn’t be that bad.
Could it be an unrelated issue I wonder?

lexloofah · 01/09/2020 07:36

I am in the SW, order due 9-10, about 75-80% M&S stuff, full weekly shop

Email received....only out of one frozen item and one size of foil subbed for another so don't panic just yet.

Ontheboardwalk · 01/09/2020 07:47

The pigs have landed!

Just one substitution tikka chicken curry rather than onion bhaji chicken curry, I'll take that

Whether it’s a new in stock thing I don’t know but there are really good dates on the food that’s being delivered later

AdaColeman · 01/09/2020 07:50

Anyone spotted a Percy Pigs van yet?

Sunny360 · 01/09/2020 09:14

My order is turning up this morning and I had about 6/7 substitutions which is more than normal. Guessing it’s just teething problems with the changeover. I’m also going to receive a tikka chicken curry instead of an onion Bhaji curry @Ontheboardwalk!

XJen · 01/09/2020 09:35

I was one of those that received an email late last night for my 9am order this morning saying they couldn't deliver today! No more delivery slots this week. Tesco's click and collect to the rescue then 🙄
The £30 is nice, but I can't eat that!

Onceuponatimethen · 01/09/2020 09:39

We have an order coming today - really hoping it comes as I need it for packed lunches Confused

I’m annoyed that the site is telling me I’ve bought M&S stuff that I haven’t, especially where it’s stuff I would never buy

We only buy high welfare meat eg organic free range pork products and the choice of those seems to have gone down.

TryAnotherNickname · 01/09/2020 09:39

I’ve notice some bonkers price increases from Waitrose to M&S where Ocado di t have a comparable (fine green beans 200g £1.35 Waitrose /£2 M&S) or increases pack sizes and large price mark up, also on v common products with no Ocado equivalent. Along with the Waitrose cat letter which is by far and away the cheapest and best, we are going to have to do a few Waitrose shops, but am keeping the smart pass open for now in case we end up with another lockdown in the winter

Onceuponatimethen · 01/09/2020 09:40

Clearly no senior women at Ocado involved in this timing as why on earth would you pick back to school week to have silvery mayhem Angry

Onceuponatimethen · 01/09/2020 09:40

@TryAnotherNickname are you using wood pellets or clay type?

Onceuponatimethen · 01/09/2020 09:42

Silvery mayhem? I meant delivery mayhem Grin

Onceuponatimethen · 01/09/2020 09:42

As an additional rant we still didn’t get a toblerone!

TryAnotherNickname · 01/09/2020 09:47

@Onceuponatimethen it’s the ultra clumping smell free clay based one. Really does clump and doesn’t leave little clay paw prints, and £4 for 5l. I have 20 of them in the garage stockpiled in anticipation of this divorce! Tried others, no joy or twice the price
