Carrying on from the last Ocado thread that is about to fill up. Still haven’t been given a toblerone yet.

I quite like the Daylesford jug thingies (but we have a pull out fridge, which might make them easier to grab and pour).

Has anybody else seen the posts about them linking up with MOB Kitchen? I'd never heard of them, but I like the look of some of their recipes.

The only occupant of our house that will be distraught at the changeover from Waitrose to M&S will be the dog she is a ddicted to the Waitrose own brand muesli dog biscuits. As we have no Waitrose local to us I have been stocking up for the last few shops! I cannot deal with the big sad eyes if we run out. The is alas no equivalent M&S product.

FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 23/08/2020 19:01

Just a warning to people who have booked a delivery for 31st August, and are thinking of finalising it later. I had booked, and so much Waitrose stuff is out of stock (understandably) but M&S not yet available. So many items unavailable, lettuce, yoghurt, basic items. Managed to get a slot for later in the week luckily.

I've just cancelled my Ocado delivery because so many items were unavailable. I've booked a free click and collect with Sainsburys.

FlamingoAndJohn · 23/08/2020 20:22

Worth knowing @FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich, thank you for that. It’s going to be a bit of a difficult week or so while the cross over happens.

viccat · 24/08/2020 15:55

For the first time in weeks I was put into a queue trying to get into the Ocado website. Shock It was only about 2 minutes but still, wondered why they are seeing so much increased demand again.

FlamingoAndJohn · 24/08/2020 16:00

I tried yesterday to restart my reserved but it wouldn’t let my choose my usual Friday even though I have an anytime pass and I can now place an order any day.
I called them and they said that you can’t have reserved Friday, Saturday or Sunday yet.

Goslowlysideways · 24/08/2020 21:27

I just booked a slot for tomorrow. I haven’t seen that many slots available quickly for ages and ages. And they had loads for Wednesday.

Grin This just made me smile. From instagram. Presumably also on TV?

I've just had an email offering me a free slot for tomorrow. I've looked and there are plenty of free slots going.

Brilliant!!
PickAChew · 25/08/2020 20:48

Yes, their radio ads have been amusing, too.

We've only recently got ocado in our area and I've been making the most of the last minute slots while I find my way around. I couldn't get one, today.

Goslowlysideways · 26/08/2020 06:50

Loads not available in my delivery and no replacements. Really showed me how many Waitrose products I rely on.
The bananas and nectarines I ordered were horrible when I unpacked them. Annoying.

Wolfcub · 26/08/2020 18:11

No delivery slots midweek next week in my area. The only one available was 5.30am. Which I've nabbed Hmm

I’ve just looked for me. Limited mid week slots too. I wonder if they have allowed new people to sign up but with mid week passes.
bookgirl1982 · 28/08/2020 12:32

I'd imagine it's because reserved slots have restarted and these (for me at least) were offered midweek.

PowerslidePanda · 28/08/2020 14:23

For anyone who hasn't seen it - they've put up a blog post saying that bag collections will start again from 22 September. But no mention of whether they'll pay for the bags or any limits on the number they'll accept.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 28/08/2020 15:01

My driver told me that we haven't been charged for bags during lockdown so I doubt very much whether they will be giving any money back. I hope they haven't wasted money buying new bags in recent weeks, as the ones I have stockpiled in the spare room will keep SE England going for some months to come.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 28/08/2020 15:04

I've retained my lockdown habit and as soon as my delivery comes I book another one for four weeks hence, with a skeleton order generated by the scary one-button click thingy on the website, which knows me so well it automatically puts in 2 of anything that's on a buy 2 get £x off offer. Maybe I go for an unpopular time, but I've had no difficulty getting a slot for months now. I can guarantee being at home, though (wfh).

GCAcademic · 28/08/2020 17:28

Just edited tomorrow’s order. It looks like there is nothing left in the warehouse!

XiCi · 28/08/2020 19:04

My driver told me we would get money back for up to 100 bags. Good news they are going to start collecting again. I'm drowning in them!

FlamingoAndJohn · 28/08/2020 19:07

I agree. I had one thing missing from today’s order (annoyingly it was a bag of spinach which crosses 3 dinners for us). But when I was editing there was almost nothing left, not Waitrose but any stuff.
PumbaasCucumbas · 28/08/2020 19:39

I’ve used the Ocado/Waitrose/ M&S thing to review our shopping options. I’m trying a local veg box and butcher meat box next week - still need a supermarket for frozen and household but hopefully less plastic/food miles and nicer food?

PumbaasCucumbas · 28/08/2020 19:40

(If that doesn’t work I’m tempted to go with Waitrose, but the Ocado app is really good)

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 28/08/2020 20:40

Waitrose has so few things. The app is entirely lacking in entertainment. There's a lot to be said for the lost afternoon spent comparing varieties of dried apricot or red lentil.

I'll really miss a few of their products though. Extra v olive oil. Recycled loo roll. Unhomogenised Duchy organic milk ... Two choices: either a rogue Waitrose delivery maybe once a month or I suck it up and either accept Ocado alternatives or commit to new suppliers for those few, particular things
