Ocado priority, tips and hacks and Toblerone

Carrying on from the last Ocado thread that is about to fill up. Still haven’t been given a toblerone yet.

My delivery was missing so much. They even subbed yellow food colouring for blue, I already had blue in the order.

So much missing, now I’ll have to reorder. No freebies for me. Bastards.

I got freebies to review last week, some pasta and a fuel pudding and cat food. The got free special k as i logged out.
I am in holiday early sepember so cant place my first m&s order until mid september

I've had two packets of that free Kellogg's stuff now and I think there's another one due in a later order. I gave them to the food bank. Nobody here eats that kind of thing.

My order today apparently has NO MISSING ITEMS or subs! First time since lockdown started I think!

I’m not sure I’ll continue using them though as I’m not massively keen on M&S’s offering and Ocado were pretty shit during the early weeks of lockdown. I’m probably going to try Waitrose.

It sounds like a lot of us aren’t happy with the Ocado switch from Waitrose to M&S.
I’m guessing they’re doing it because the guy (Rose?) who used to be CEO of M&S is now at Ocado? Sorry if this has already been discussed.

I got 4 or 5 Toblerones free during lockdown but never had anything before or since. I’ve been shopping with them weekly for years and years. Who knows what their strategy for freebies is.

hi all how did you get your faves to be substituted by M&S stuff?

My favourites list just shows the waitrose stuff as sold out.

Also there is no 'extra large chicken' sun for the waitrose version1. There is a marks and spencer one but it's nearly £2 dearer and covered in herbs.

We cook 2 a week at least and my 10yr old won't go anywhere near a herb

Just edited an order and the M&S Extra Virgin Olive Oil (obvs not yet in stock) has been considerately positioned just beneath the Waitrose equivalent.

Haven't bothered to find out but I daresay several familiar products are made by the same producers anyway - and merely carry different labels ...

@actiongirl1978 M&S alternatives are showing up automatically in the favourites list, but only for orders after 1st September.

My favourites list looks normal when I edit this weeks delivery, but different for my 2nd September order.

Ah thats interesting I will try again. I have an order on the 1st but no alternatives are showing.

I did indeed have no subs/missing items but a lot of things had shorter dates than usual. Bananas needing eaten by end of tomorrow! (not that i go by the dates on fruit). Oh well.

I’m due a delivery in the morning and just looking at my receipt the dates are shocking.
Every week my strawberries and use. Y the next day but this week even my stir fry is.

Is it worth requesting a refund on items with such a short date ?

@Yellowbutterfly1 I always get refunds then. I refund anything I wouldn’t have have picked up.

It’s annoying the hiatus caused by de-stocking Waitrose, but having to wait for M&S. Prunes in juice, Lemon Squash, to name a couple. Will have to go shopping for a fair few items now.

Has anyone had trouble accessing the site today? I’ve been booted out and can’t log back in, it keeps instantly saying timed out.

I’ve got an order booked for first week of September and my favourites list has been automatically updated with similar items from M&S, @actiongirl1978, even the “last purchased” dates have been transferred across.

I never did get a toblerone!

I got two free bottles of innocent juice from Waitrose. I’m having a break from Ocado and hoping they’ll miss me enough to give me a toblerone

@mypersona this happened to me a few days ago, only on my ipad, ok on my phone thank goodness as needed to do final edit on my order

I had to reset my password to resolve

No subs and no missing items yesterday but there were definitely more things unavailable to buy in the first place

No subs yesterday!

But still no access to the app.

The app is working for me again, I had been able to use it for a while but got kicked out about four days ago.

No app working for me still but I did happen to notice that I am now worthy of having a delivery whenever I want just like how it used to be.

I haven’t had any email about it , just happed to notice it when I went o line to change an order. Looks like God looked down on me 😂

my app was switched off yesterday....mid edit.....and today I have gone to book future shops and nothing is showing beyond the next 3 days....aaarggghhg
And I didn't even get 1 toblerone......

Got an email from them today:

Since Ocado started in 2001, we’ve made zero food waste our mission. In fact, we’re chuffed to say that just 0.038% of our products are currently wasted, compared to 3-6% for a typical supermarket.

That'll be why I'm getting food that's mouldy on arrival then. If it goes in the customer's bin, rather than Ocado's, it doesn't count towards their waste figures!
