Carrying on from the last Ocado thread that is about to fill up. Still haven’t been given a toblerone yet.

@Wolfcub

My Colombian coffee sticks have been substituted Angry
Cunts.

That is all I have to say on the matter.

FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 08/08/2020 20:11

Ocado will be stocking M&S Marmite Butter....

tootyfruitypickle · 08/08/2020 21:08

Marmite butter? Is this a labour saving hack I don’t know about?

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 08/08/2020 21:20

Recycled loo roll ...Sad

Ridiculous to be sad because I'll miss the familiar packaging. I'm perfectly sure M&S will provide a near identical substitute.

Maybe it's just that life is weird enough right now; I could do without an enforced change in shopping habits. Despite having signed up to Waitrose I'm not sure I'm sufficiently convinced. They don't have enough products to make browsing entertaining, and the app is a bit rubbish. Too much bright white space, too few, and un-enlargeable, photos of products.

Hmph!

FuckyNel · 09/08/2020 13:29

I’ve got my September 1st slot booked with identical m&s items. I’m quite excited actually Blush

DopamineHits · 09/08/2020 15:53

I never got a Toblerone, but I've had a freebie with my last two shops - Cherry Kombucha last time (very nice) and some posh beef flavour crisps this time Smile I never had freebies before, maybe I'm finally on the favoured customer list!

I'm quite excited about the M&S launch. Our nearest one is a real faff parking-wise so I haven't shopped there in almost a year. I'm going to stock up on Percy Pigs in September.

DopamineHits · 09/08/2020 16:11

For fear of another lockdown I have now renewed.

That's the thing isn't it? Power balance is definitely on the supermarket's side right now, plus the Brexit uncertainty will probably lead to January panic buying too, because we are fully aware now that that's what we do... I'm sticking with Ocado until spring at the very earliest. But I'm happy with the M&S switch anyway.

And I've just found Dirty Fries on the site!

Deardonkey · 09/08/2020 17:37

Is the Ocado app not working for anyone else? I wasn’t able to use it today/yesterday.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 09/08/2020 17:53

The app crashed and was shut down at the start of lockdown. (Everyone has had to use the website since then.)

Ocado have begun to bring it back - gradually. So some people have access to it once again, others, like me, are still waiting.

Sertchgi123 · 09/08/2020 18:22

Can anyone tell me whether they are taking the carrier bags back yet please?

Oh and anyone who has a Toblerone going spare, I love them.

DopamineHits · 09/08/2020 19:19

No not taking the bags back yet. I don't understand why it's okay for me to take bags for my delivery drivers hands as I did today, but I can't hand them back... I guess that's what we get for keeping them in our special dangerous viruses cupboards.

I've started using them as mini rubbish bags, I literally have no more space. Even balled up as small as possible they're bursting out of two cabinets.

Sertchgi123 · 09/08/2020 22:13

Thanks @DopamineHits

tootyfruitypickle · 09/08/2020 22:17

I got a free gift today..... !

Some special immune boosting special K...

Would have preferred a toblerone !

Saffronesque · 09/08/2020 23:33

Driver with today's delivery said they would be taking bags back soon. But not old ones. Guessing that they will change bag colour or something to differentiate, especially with the M&S launch.

saffronesque · 09/08/2020 23:36

I've come to the conclusion that I will do a regular Wednesday order with waitrose & fill in gaps at weekend with a little ocado order. Foot in 2 camps if you like.
I was impressed that you could book so far ahead with waitrose tbh - ocado & most supermarkets were traditionally no more than a month ahead.

saffronesque · 09/08/2020 23:40

I expect to be continuing with online shopping longterm.

It was interesting what earlier poster said about waitrose online shopping - and true. There is no sense of excitement with new offers, because it is such a clunky website; promises so much & offers much less. Everything is last century, moving up & down menus. Key info often missing. And so-o-o slow!

DerbyshireGirly · 10/08/2020 04:51

Hopefully M&S undies via Ocado are less likely to have been tried on by strange perverts other people.

XiCi · 10/08/2020 07:08

My driver told me re the bags not to throw them away as you will get up to £5 back so I've packed 100 up and just stashed them.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/08/2020 08:06

My driver told me they'd stopped charging for the bags during lockdown, which I admit I'd not even noticed. Haven't checked if that's right, though. We're using some of the thousands many we've accumulated as rubbish bags for the kitchen bin.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/08/2020 08:09

Totally agree about the Waitrose website, @saffronesque. I'd switch to Waitrose in a heartbeat if the website wasn't as clunky and had the full Waitrose range. It astonishes me that there are lots of Waitrose items you could get from Ocado till now but not from Waitrose online. The local store which I think is where the packers work is quite big so I'd have expected it to have more or less the full range. Ocado's website is so easy to use.

Sunshiney1981 · 10/08/2020 08:20

Is it weird I’m feeling sad about all my lovely Waitrose food going? So much of my weekly order is Waitrose. I love their Duchy organic range. So healthy and so ethical. Poor Prince Charles lol.
I’ve also never rated M&S for food but I’m noticing that they’re selling more organic stuff on Ocado so I’ll give it a try.
I’m also going to stick with Ocado for now in light of the pandemic. I was planning to jump over to Waitrose online but if we do go into lockdown over winter I want to stick with what I know for now and my guaranteed weekly delivery.
Going now to cry into my Duchy organic hummus (first world problems..... 😆)

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 10/08/2020 08:48

Not weird at all, Sunshiney1981, I feel exactly the same. I've found M&S produce - the fruit and veg particularly - somewhat sterile, designed for the supermarket shelf rather than the tastebuds.

But there'll still be other choices ...

Lovelydovey · 10/08/2020 08:55

Not had anything free yet, despite four months of regular and huge orders. Guess I’m still not favoured....

I ended up with so many bags I gave them to a local community kitchen who wanted them for takeaway distribution. I had a whole blue ikea bag full...

Sunny360 · 10/08/2020 17:09

Inspired by this thread I left about 10 product reviews on Ocado... fingers crossed for a freebie one day!
