Carrying on from the last Ocado thread that is about to fill up. Still haven’t been given a toblerone yet.

Vouchers stopped for me when I got a Smart Pass. OTOH, they sent me free things to review for a while. They were very rarely things I'd ever have thought of buying, but free is free, so I happily accepted them, and then submitted reviews on the lines of 'I received this free of charge to review. It was OK but if I'd had to pay I'd have regarded this as very poor value for money'. Amazingly, they kept offering the free stuff anyway.

I often wonder what their suppliers think about the reviews, which are frequently extremely candid. Many a time and oft I've pondered buying something on a flash sale, looked at the reviews and decided against it.

Madcats · 28/07/2020 22:24

I have just found a few of those offers.... ours tended to arrive mid afternoon for deliveries within the next 48 hours (min spend £50, max reward £7 was on the one we had in Nov 2018).

We might have had a smartpass then

Oh happy carefree Ocado days!

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 28/07/2020 22:35

How interesting! I have always had SmartPass + vouchers.

I've never volunteered a single review nor been invited to sample free stuff in exchange for reviews. But I'm ridiculously grateful to those of you amongst the starry elite. I read every single one every time I consider a new product - and yes, it often means the thing stays on the warehouse "shelf". (Though I tend to imagine Ocado products as existing only in an unsubstantiated metaphysical space until the moment they magically appear in a customer's crate.)

Still no app here.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/07/2020 08:17

Anybody can review, PPE! You don't need to have been given the stuff free. I don't do it often for paid for items - mostly when I'm sufficiently keen on something that I want to do my best to ensure they keep stocking it.

Orangecake123 · 29/07/2020 10:05

I placed two or three orders with them in october- but haven't used them since they did send me two £15 off a £60 shop vouchers which I gave to a friend.

I was also offered priority slots 21 days in advance.

I'm not loyal to any company.Grin

Sunny360 · 29/07/2020 10:43

My app says that I cant use it again today! Is anyone else able to use it or have they shut it down again?

Wisteria1979 · 29/07/2020 10:50

Had an email saying they are reopening for everyone so assuming the floodgates meant they had to close the app again. Grrrr.

BentBastard · 29/07/2020 11:35

App working for me. Just did a one click add to my order.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 29/07/2020 12:16
Hmm Sad Grin
Fuss · 29/07/2020 12:47

App been on and off for me all week. Now given up.
Interestingly though it has let me edit tomorrows order despite cut off being 11pm last night.

BentBastard · 29/07/2020 15:32

I may have app privileges, but I don't have late order editing privileges Sad

Sunny360 · 29/07/2020 16:30

My apps working again now... be nice when things are properly back to normal!

Ontheboardwalk · 29/07/2020 21:38

I put an order in at 18:25 yesterday that was delivered tonight at 20:00.

I’ve still got to make my final updates to my Friday order by tonight

Ocado are still actively pushing bottled water, multi buy discounts, lots of canned drink offers to me. I asked the delivery guy if it was getting easier out there and he said no

I reckon they’ve got a load of bulky items gathering dust that they are trying to get rid of

impostersyndrome · 30/07/2020 06:16

I’ve done ok with one delivery a week throughout, having shopped with them weekly for many years, but only after I declared I’m shielded.

And I’ve never had freebies, nor any free samples, though they didn’t put up my monthly charge of 2.99, which is a relief.

Those of you who have the app, where did you get it? I can’t find it on the App Store. I was caught out last missing the cutoff time. I thought I had till the evening for today’s delivery, but apparently not. Very frustrating.

eeeyoresmiles · 30/07/2020 06:19

I couldn't find it by searching the store but did find it and re-download it by going to "my apps" on the store and looking at the ones not currently installed. You couldn't do that if you hadn't used it before though.

Goslowlysideways · 30/07/2020 06:25

No Toblerone still but I got a free Charlie Bighams lasagne with my Waitrose order.
Still no offers from Ocado. September isn’t far away now I hope Waitrose start a smart pass scheme.

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 30/07/2020 08:04

Dang ... Still jabbing that app button. Still getting the cold shoulder.

FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 30/07/2020 12:10

I notice while checking out that in the ‘coupon’ page, you can’t use any new customer rewards! They are obviously so inundated with new customer requests that they don’t need to offer incentives to join.

orangenasturtium · 30/07/2020 12:55

That's right FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich

I referred a friend just before the system went into meltdown at the start of lockdown. Neither of us got a voucher and we couldn't complain at the time as customer services was closed.

I've only just complained about it and customer services told me that they aren't doing refer a friend any more. They did agree to honour the vouchers as they could see on the system that the referral was made when the offer was still available. No free Smart Pass for them though as customer services can't give them out at all any more.

Although somebody can as DM just got a year's free Smart Pass (newish customer in an area where Ocado is relatively new and not very popular).

Fuss · 30/07/2020 13:59

Half an hour early today, and finally everything packed sensibly.

I spent a therapeutic hour yesterday triangle folding all the bags I've accumulated. Loved every moment sad cow
Need to go into the loft later for the several hundred more.

FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 02/08/2020 21:05

I have an order for 10.30 tomorrow and was told that last time for editing was 11pm on Saturday. Suddenly realised at 6pm today I needed some cleaning items. I was able to add my blue loo, and shower shine! Pre lockdown you could only alter a morning delivery until 5.40 the day before!

Noflora · 02/08/2020 22:29

I have an order for 11.30-12.30 on Friday, just logged in and saw I can edit up to 12 midday on Thurs. Yay, at last.

Fuss · 02/08/2020 22:49

My order editing has now officially moved to 5pm the day before my 12.30 delivery.

impostersyndrome · 03/08/2020 05:51

Thanks @eeeyoresmiles, I did try that, but no luck.

Yellowbutterfly1 · 04/08/2020 08:44

I had no idea just how much Waitrose things I buy each week.

I’ve now signed up for Ocado Reserved and they just placed an order on it for the 2nd Sep. When I looked at the order I couldn’t understand why it said totally of about £35 then realised there was a list as long as your arm of all the items they said were unavailable. All Waitrose of course.

Seems a bit stupid that they are obviously allowing orders for September but aren’t listing any M&S items yet for those orders so I have no idea of what I can actually order until the day before delivery.
For example I buy Waitrose cream crackers at around 40p a pack, will a Oacado do something to match the price or will M&S?
