Is anyone taking an asprin a day? Wondering if it will help or make things worse?

MillStone · 23/06/2020 13:03

@Egghead68 great news about your tests! Cab is a good idea Smile

@Lightsabre fab you’re making such good progress. Do you still rest a lot in the day in amongst your activities?

Egghead68 · 23/06/2020 13:16

Oh no @godhelpusall. Hopefully it’s just today.

SheilaTakeABow · 23/06/2020 14:32

Thanks @alittleprivacy, it does seem to be the case.
I know we're all feeling dreadful, but it really is a comfort knowing so many others are in the same boat, and we're not going crazy or 'malingering'.

Lightsabre · 23/06/2020 15:55

@MillStone, yes, the majority of the day is spent resting in the garden or on the sofa with short bursts of an hour or so or half an hour making meals. As soon as I feel tired, I rest.

Lightsabre · 23/06/2020 15:55

Sorry to hear about your relapse @godhelpusall - do you have an idea of what caused it?

MillStone · 23/06/2020 16:33

Thanks @Lightsabre sounds pretty much like my day.

I’m worried about overdoing it and also under doing it. I guess the former is the safer option. The further along this sage goes the more surreal it feels.

Oh God...

godhelpusall · 23/06/2020 17:42

I think I overdid it yesterday. But I feel a bit chills/hot which I haven't felt for ages

isitorisntit · 23/06/2020 17:46

@egghead68 sore breasts? I've not hear of this as a symptom but my goodness, mine are sore, like when I'm premenstrual but all through the month. Second month of this symptom. Do you have any more info?

Kitcat122 · 23/06/2020 18:04

@isitorisntit gosh that's my fear 😱

TheWooisStrong · 23/06/2020 19:57

Still popping in and out.
I’m up to maybe 98% better. My second ECG I assume is normal as the doctor hasn’t been in touch (I was wearing sun cream for the first and the pads didn’t stick)
I’m having a fatigued day today, but that’s mainly due to a late night last night and a DH who woke me up at 6am telling me it was 7am.
I’ve seen the BBC news article about lung injury and I’m trying not to let it panic me. SOB is still an issue occasionally, and I have intermittent chest pain.
I’m hoping that with continuing to pace myself, eat and sleep well, and build up exercise, by the autumn I’ll be fully recovered- we all will.

Tootsey11 · 23/06/2020 21:09

Day 102, what if we are never 'normal' again?

I think I am losing the plot.

Egghead68 · 23/06/2020 21:17

Great @TheWooisStrong! Thanks for updating us.

I’m not reading the stuff on lung damage. My lungs are damaged enough already from a previous virus.

@isitorisntit sore boobs was a late symptom for me - started a few weeks ago. I’ve since seen it listed as a symptom on Facebook groups. I don’t know anymore I am afraid.

Monty6 · 23/06/2020 22:11

@Fishflakes - i saw your comment about hypothyroidism. I have autoimmune hypothyroidism and take levothyroxine. Both medichecks and blue horizon offer private blood tests where you can get antibodies, TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested. We shouldn’t have to go private, but it is the only way to properly monitor thyroid health currently. I can only get TSH monitored through my GP, but that often doesn’t tell the full story. Also always worth getting a copy of the blood test results. The current normal range for TSH leaves many people sick for far too long. Some papers suggest a TSH above 3 is suspicious. It is worth being aware that acute illness can knock thyroid hormones out of balance.

Kitcat122 · 23/06/2020 22:23

Yes my bloods came back with borderline under active Thyroid.

Moodgie · 23/06/2020 22:40

@Countingsheeps Thank you for this. The 4th paragraph is good.
@TheWooisStrong Great news!

Moodgie · 23/06/2020 22:40

@AndsLee How are you doing?

Silvergoldsilver · 23/06/2020 22:49

@moodgie My heart palpitations have really amped up again this week also - very strange!

isitorisntit · 23/06/2020 22:50

I'm. So sick of this now. 102 days today. Pressure in chest has gone from melon to tennis ball to solf ball now, but I talked too much today and the glands in my neck began to swell and hurt, my windpipe has been burning again for 2 days and I feel like someone is squeezing my windpipe. I'm also coughing a lot more today. However, the good news is I've done 10,000 steps the past 2 days.

MillStone · 24/06/2020 07:31

@Countingsheeps thanks for the article, great read and very helpful Smile

Regarding paragraph 4, really interesting. I hope this accounts for our ongoing SOB which intensifies on increased exertion -- as opposed to lung damage.

It would be good to see data which displays people's original symptoms Vs their relapse symptoms.

AndsLee · 24/06/2020 07:39

@Moodgie
Hiya! Thank you for asking after me!
I'm doing ok... The rash on my hands has disappeared, but I am now convinced this was soap burn. Good old sudocrem did the trick...

My partner is here. 6 days in and he is well... I'll rest easier when we are through the 11 day mark. I am fairly confident he will be fine, and we are indeed post viral, as Paul Garner was saying in his most recent article. I don't feel fizzy...

I also have sore boobs, but I guess your breasts are glands, so makes sense. I still feel my underarm glands switch on from time to time.

My last remaining symptom (I class this as something that is more than uncomfortable) is the SOB. It still feels like I am breathing through dust/that my lungs aren't there. This is now concerning me more, because my stomach is much better, and I am not convinced the SOB is GERD related anymore. But, if this were gone, I'd say I'm getting back to normal.

Lovely for you to ask! How are you getting on? FlowersFlowers

How's everyone else doing? Xx

GMB talking about 14 weekers on ITV now.

Very good.

Egghead68 · 24/06/2020 08:41

Great it’s on GMTV. Glad you are getting there @Andslee.

Day 95/96 for me and just my heart symptoms and chest pain are lingering. I don’t need to rest nearly as much and am doing full days of normalish activity apart from vigorous exercise. 17 OK days in a row now.

10K steps is amazing @isitorisntit. I’m up to 6K steps every other day.

How is everyone today?
