Hope this has worked... Welcome all.

@Frankiefree it’s funny you should say that about veins. I noticed yesterday that my calves are completely covered with blue thread veins. They look very weird. I put it down to age but that’s a lot of ageing in a few months.

@Rosesofeyam I think I am similar to you in that I can do most non-strenuous things, just very slowly and inefficiently. My main symptoms now are fatigue, chest pains and a high heart rate. The fatigue is very variable. Yesterday I was flat on my back again but on Thursday I managed a full day’s work and a yoga video (which all might account for the crash yesterday. Must pace.)

@Mittens030869 I hope you got some sleep and feel more refreshed.

Hmm...

Is it just me, or at week 11ish our symptoms are becoming more aligned?

  • tingling/burning sensations
  • slight SOB, still there though
  • aches and pains, muscular mostly
  • headaches
  • new kinda weird achy sternum
  • some skin manifestations (rashes etc)
  • glands either painful or on
  • fatigue

How about stingy eyes?

@andslee I’m starting week 14.

  • morning nausea and toilet rush - that’s been going on for about 7-8 weeks
  • raw/scratchy windpipe or breathing in ‘dust’ at times
  • fatigue
  • red patches on knees that come and go
  • sore hands when waking up (joints), eases of as the day goes but not completely

Sore eyes here, comes and goes for every quite a lot.

Might sound paranoid but small pupils in the morning? They just seem different?

@moodgie was gonna just say...I missed out the all consuming GERD.

Day 69.

Spoke to soon last time, thought I was finally out of the woods but had a couple of wheezy/fatigued days earlier this week so rung GP and have been to hospital on Weds for a chest X-ray. Overall, I’d still say I’m improving but it is painfully slow.

Egghead68 · 06/06/2020 09:19

@AndsLee I had the sternum pain from week 1 or 2 and it’s still ongoing. My stingy light-sensitive eyes have got better (touch wood) in the last couple of weeks. My glands hurt only intermittently. No rash, although did have finger blisters and now have thread veins. Otherwise I match your week 11 list.

Hi everyone, just a quick update on DD, she had a load of tests in hospital on Tuesday, including covid (this time). She is now 3 months in and her cough got very bad last weekend. Tests all looked ok, doctor believed she was unwell - convinced most, I think, by the fact she has barely been outside in all this lovely weather. Stack of antibiotics prescribed, which seem to have sorted the cough but not the other ongoing symptoms (raised temperature, lethargy, brain fog most consistent). She complained of her chest feeling ‘buzzy’ the other day, does that sound familiar? She also seems to have short periods during the day when she will seem much better then crashes, even if she hasn’t exerted herself when feeling ok, anyone else find that?

Best wishes to everyone still struggling and please post any recovery stories as I think they would help a lot Flowers

Morning everyone - Week 12 today!!! After feeling almost better from week 8 to 10 relapsed about 10 days ago with burning chest and sternum and quite bad sob on walking and at times randomly. Getting tired very easily, glands up in neck and armpits. Awaiting chest x-ray and blood test. I was back to work full time this week which does not help.

Best wishes to your daughter @sleepwhenidie. Sounds like she’s having a really bad time of it.

I’ve tried to upload a picture of the skin on my lower legs to show the thread veins. Not sure if they will show up.

Interesting article. Shows the lack of help and advice for people.

Also he had the don't bother to call us back unless you're turning blue experience. Quite a lot of people on mumsnet have dismissed this as an urban myth but I think it was definitely happening back in March.

Seems like some of the rationing of health care in the UK happens by pretending you don't think the patient is actually unwell.

Happens in maternity too where the ward is full so they pretend you aren't giving birth and should just pop home for a cup of tea. Then act all surprised when the baby's head appears.

In late week 2 (mid April) I was close to passing out when standing because I couldn’t breathe.

It was a Saturday, so I called 111 instead of my GP. The agent requested an ambulance.

A paramedic phoned 2 hours later...

After a quick chat with the standard “any pain in neck...” questions, I was told they wouldn’t be attending because I could speak sentences and didn’t have blue lips or fingers.

I was told to sleep more upright to allow fluids to settle ... and space my paracetamol equally.

This is when I bought an oximeter!

So. To date I have:

  • sent 3 emails to the FM's office
  • sent 2 emails to Dundee University
  • this morning I sent an email to Ed. Uni.

Infectious Diseases dept
  • sent an email to NHSBT

I am basically asking what is being done for the "long termers", now lockdown is easing. No-one has responded so far.

My concern is...
If this virus hasn't cleared...we are aware that plasma treatment could assist with this. If we are being overlooked, how do we access this?

godhelpusall · 06/06/2020 11:12

@AndsLee .that is my concern too. We need to be able to find out if the virus is persisting and have treatment if it is. But right now we are being completely ignored. I guess we don't compromise statistics do we don't matter.

I have had a terrible headache since yesterday lunchtime and feel a bit dizzy. Bit migrainey bit like a hangover Confused

It’s good to know that others have the veins too.

Another question. Has anyone found that their Covid symptoms are far worse when they have their period?

What a great article @GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit thank you for sharing. Shocking. And truly shocking what you were told @MillStone .

Well done with your activism @AndsLee . I've written to my MP too.

I'm feeling very mentally low today, probably because I didn't sleep very well. My current annoying symptom is my oesophageal discomfort. I feel like I want to burp but I can't, feels all blocked. Has anyone else had that? I'm now thinking it's another GERD symptom so back on the omeprazole. On the positive side, breathing and heart rate are okay.

I'm so sorry that your daughter's still poorly @sleepwhenidie 💐 .

Here's the thing folks...
Has anyone actually had a proper diagnosis that this is GERD? I mean, based on proper examination? I mean, it's likely it is...but...

@Egghead68 Thank you for asking, yes I slept fine. I did have sleep problems a few weeks ago because of my coughing and chest pain, but I think my exhaustion kicked in and I've slept a lot recently.

I'm sorry about your pulled muscle, I have that sort of thing happen, and I agree with you that it's because of being out of condition. Thanks

@MillStone I went to A&E early on (I am clinically extremely vulnerable and had been told to do so). They told me only to come back if/when my “breathing was extremely laboured” or I had “very severe chest pains” and then only after speaking to NHS111 and my GP first (not sure how I was supposed to speak!)

Thank you for posting the article @GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit and for your activism @AndsLee

@AndsLee

My worry is if we go back in to lockdown too.

Any services (tests and support etc) that have only recently reopened will possibly close again.
