egghead yay,go you. So pleased.

Day 100
Other than a blip at the end of last week when I had a massive flare up (diarrhoea, sore throat, dizzy, headache, flare up of existing conditions.)

I have been better in myself.Still taking everything slowly and not over doing things.
My asthma has ramped up due to the weather so SOB and chest pain are back and my SATS have been lower. I am awaiting a call back from GP. Probably more steriods.Sad

I also have the dusty breathing.
It feels like fine dust/sand in the air.
I had a shower earlier and the humid air was making my breathing really hard.
I think my lungs have become so sensitive. Even more so than usual since being ill.

I am so glad that most of you are starting to feel better.
I hope everyone else gets better soon.Flowers

Moodgie · 26/06/2020 11:37

@Rosesofeyam I like idea of sensitivity, maybe that’s what it is!

Rosesofeyam · 26/06/2020 12:00

moodgie I'm finding that since having this virus things that never bothered my asthma before triggers an asthma attack/SOB.

I'm sensitive all over just not my lungs. Hot and cold water. Bumping myself lightly causes extreme pain. Sensitive stomach/digestion. Sensitive skin.
I'm having to second guess things, be more careful. IYSWIM.

On the down side GP phoned back and I'm now on yet another cause of steriods.Fourth lot this year. Sad

alittleprivacy · 26/06/2020 13:18

@Rosesofeyam I think my lungs have become so sensitive. Even more so than usual since being ill.

I've read that's common after a lower respiratory tract infection like Covid. I never had any issues with hayfever, dust, etc. But I'm extremely sensitive to them this year. I don't think it's usually permanent but can persist for a year or two while the respiratory system heals.

Norugratsatall · 26/06/2020 13:33

Afternoon all.

Hope everyone is continuing to improve and the heat isn't adversely affecting you all.

@Egghead68 - great to hear how you're steadily improving! Cycling 30 miles in this heat is awesome, well done. But remember to pace yourself.

I'm also steadily improving - chest pain has gone and less noticeable SOB. but still so exhausted, can do very little really. My body feels weak. I did manage to upload a picture of myself holding a piece of paper showing no of days ill and hashtagging long Covid, to the 1 in 20 Facebook page so we'll see what comes of it.

Hope everyone looks after themselves in this heat!

Lightsabre · 26/06/2020 14:30

I seem to have developed a mild hay fever. Itchy nose and sneezing first thing in the morning and late at night.

KatySun · 26/06/2020 17:00

Ah, that is interesting about hayfever, mine is dreadful this year.

I have triggered a bit of a relapse here with doing too much - mainly relating to two Zoom meetings and one phone meeting in the one day. Chest pain has re-surfaced and I am exhausted. By the end of the last meeting, I was beginning to feel like I was losing my breath mid-sentence again, and now I have stabby pains in my back Angry. Fourteen weeks now.

That said, I did have a reasonable run of days before that since last weekend, I was managing to sit at the table rather than on the sofa to work and I started to weed my driveway (a horror at the moment). So it seems to be the talking that does it.

Lightsabre · 26/06/2020 18:28

Shall we start a Covid 9 Weeks thread?

Ernieshere · 26/06/2020 18:31

I think most of us are week 14 ish now Sad

Moodgie · 26/06/2020 19:12

I’m at the end of week 16 ffs.

Whatapickle78 · 26/06/2020 19:25

Interesting what you say about talking too much being the trigger.... I’m really finding that too. Two phone calls is my limit. Then my voice starts to go a bit and I just feel totally zonked. However I do seem able to browse the internet on my phone pretty much indefinitely... not a good thing either!

isitorisntit · 26/06/2020 19:57

Hello! Interesting that your hayfever is worse. I asked for a repeat of omeprazole and the pharmacist from my surgery called and talked it through (it was prescribed at the same time as my second antibiotics (doxy)). I explained about the burning windpipe and chest and said it's so hard to tell what hurts and what doesn't. I had the burning windpipe/lungs Sun-Thurs again. Then I explained that my (normally awful) hayfever hasn't been too bad at all this year. She was surprised as most people have said it's been a lot worse. She thinks the Dr should try me on a brown inhaler (has booked me a phone appt for Monday). Thing is, I was prescribed a blue one that made no difference. I have a brown one here, unopened (it was left here). I'm wondering if I should give it a go. I mean, I know I've not been prescribed it yet... Could it do any harm???

Egghead68 · 26/06/2020 20:10

Hi @Moodgie - I was referred for the echo and 24hour-ECG because my heart rate was persistently above 100 (and I had chest pain and raised troponin). Apparently they don’t worry too much if your heart rate fluctuates but they do if it’s persistently high.

@norugratsatall brilliant that you are improving!! If I typed that I cycled 30 miles yesterday that was definitely a typo. I meant 30 minutes!! No ill effects so far.

@isitorisntit as an inhaler veteran I would say the brown inhalers are reasonably harmless (low dose inhaled steroids) and worth a try. It will take a while to make a difference though.

@Rosesofeyam I’m so sorry you are on your fourth course of steroids. They can make you feel so rubbish.

Hope everyone is ok in the heat.

Norugratsatall · 26/06/2020 21:06

@Egghead68 Oops! Yes sorry, I read it as 30 miles! Wishful thinking I suppose.... still really good though! 😂

Week 14 here too! But really think (hope!!) I'm on the home straight now.

Do we need a new thread?! Sadly.... 😞💐

TiddleTaddleTat · 26/06/2020 21:08

@Egghead68 whew! I'm relieved it was 30 mins rather than 30 miles. I think the latter might have been a stretch too far just yet!!

Kitcat122 · 26/06/2020 21:13

Hopefully this next thread will be our last 🤞🤞

alittleprivacy · 26/06/2020 21:14

@Egghead68 If I typed that I cycled 30 miles yesterday that was definitely a typo. I meant 30 minutes!! No ill effects so far.

Well now I'm going to have to ring my mother and tell her I was wrong about your epic cycle, as I was telling her all about your amazing progress a little while ago!!!!!!

Sorry to disappoint!! Grin

Meercatmama · 26/06/2020 22:15

Hi
Just thought I would add to the good news stories. For the person who said about suddenly finding they can work and it has become easy I had that on Monday. I was working and suddenly realised that it had started to flow instead of being a struggle. I would say I am at about 95% of what I used to be. I am actually enjoying the things I am doing and although when tired I get the aches under my shoulder blades but no shortness of breath. The aches in joints are getting less and the cough is slowly improving to the point I actually notice when I cough and think Oh have not had that in a while. On Monday night had a strange episode when it felt like electricity going down my arms to my fingers and tingling like mad. Almost like when you get a nerve trapped. It really hurt for about 10 mins and then went. Since then nothing.

So glad to hear many are making improvement and for those still in limbo your time will come. It just takes ages. Also pleased to see the coverage on TV and the media about the struggles we have had to be heard. Hope you all have a lovely weekend

Whatnext2018 · 26/06/2020 22:26

I also thought was 30 miles 😂 I was like ‘Holy shit, I don’t even do that when fit!’

isitorisntit · 27/06/2020 00:28

@pickle done 👍
