Which shop will you be visiting first?

With non essential shops now planning to open on 15th June, where do you plan on visiting first?

For me, it's John Lewis! I'm 26 weeks pregnant and starting to purchase bits for baby.

None. No shopping here in Scotland for the foreseeable. Going to do a big H&M online shop for the DDs and new shoes will be needed at some point. But nothing else. Will just have to make do. I've never been a recreational shopper and can't imagine it being anything but a chore until we're back to something nearer normal.

ssd · 27/05/2020 00:13

I think we'll all be shocked at the difference a day at the shops looks like now. I can't imagine it'll be relaxing and leisurely, there will be a queue if people at the door so you'll feel like you can't hang around.

wheresmymojo · 27/05/2020 00:18

None.

I don't think it will be a very nice experience plus one thing I've loved about lockdown is realising how much I don't need all the material crap and how it all just keeps us working more and more to keep up with it.

The gift shop at Alton Towers for 40th anniversary hoodies for us all. We are missing it so much. I have no interest in going to town and queuing for clothes shops when you can shop online!!

sestras · 27/05/2020 00:33

Primark, TKmaxx, house of Fraser, next, it goes on and on

ineedaholidaynow · 27/05/2020 00:35

Cafes in shops aren’t going to be open

Bramblebear92 · 27/05/2020 01:29

Coffee shops (that's a while off still), McDonald's and Greg's. Grin Other than that probably just Waterstone's, H&M and charity shops.

Oh, maybe TK Max. I actually moved to somewhere without a Primark so I've fallen out of love with it and not that bothered now.

"Smyth's toys according to my DD"
Smyth's toys have been open by me throughout so I presumed all branches were open. I think they remained open on the basis that they sell bicycles so were allowed to as cycle shops could open. They had a climbing frame, slides and swings outside it a couple of weeks ago.

managedmis · 27/05/2020 01:55

Shoes for DS, a new photo frame and a pedicure

LiesHumansTellThemselves · 27/05/2020 02:49

Well, I am in Sydney so a bit different. But my favourite cafe has just advised me that they are open at full capacity next week so I have arranged lunch with a friend.

So exciting!

rawlikesushi · 27/05/2020 06:24

I won't be bothering. I've been ordering online and have enjoyed not spending money on the sort of unnecessary extras you pick up while browsing in the shops.

I don't think it will be particularly pleasant either, with queueing and masks and one-way systems.

Maybe once I can combine it with meeting a friend for lunch or coffee.

Irnbroothenoo · 27/05/2020 06:29

I’m looking forward to browsing. Don’t need anything in particular as I order online usually

KatherineJaneway · 27/05/2020 06:30

Tbh it's restaurants that I will be lining up for. Everything I've needed I've bought online.

timeforawine · 27/05/2020 06:35

A shoe shop, my daughter is outgrowing all her shoes now. Needs trainers, sandals and shoes 🤦🏼‍♀️

Potentialmadcatlady · 27/05/2020 06:37

None because we are one of the apparently forgotten by the government shielding families

Tigger001 · 27/05/2020 06:42

Clarks to get my sons feet measured, but I still won't be going to the shops for a while

Barkingfuckingdogs · 27/05/2020 06:44

Only tkmaxx. Hate shopping with a passion at the best of times and I get a burning rage on the very rare occasion I go to a big supermarket, with all the queues, 1 way systems, movement police etc.

ememem84 · 27/05/2020 06:48

None. I don’t need anything.

I did a next order for the dcs summer clothes a couple of weeks ago. I did forget shoes for ds though. So need to measure him and do a shop again

pomegranatefizz · 27/05/2020 06:55

Oliver Bonas
Home Sense
Some of the local independents who are crying out for people to visit when they're allowed to open!

okiedokieme · 27/05/2020 06:57

There's local shops if I need anything, I'm not bothering with queuing! I'm not big on browsing for clothes, I prefer online.

Hanamuslim · 27/05/2020 07:01

I had been shopping in asda for clothes whilst doing the odd food shop, when I couldn't get a delivery. But its limited and for a supermarket I find them expensive unless they're having a sale on.

I cannot wait to shop in primark and to Maxx when they open but I will wait a while first because it will probably be chock a block in the first couple weeks. I need new shoes desperately and they're my go to for casual pumps and trainers. Plus they will be trying to shove all stock in the sale so I will be there by hook or by crook!

Also can't wait for my favourite buffet restaurant to open. Satay skewers here I come, and by the bucket load!!!!!!

okiedokieme · 27/05/2020 07:01

For those saying opticians - they are already open by appointment, went to specsavers last week, very organised.

Scruffyoak · 27/05/2020 07:03

Primark but I am dreading it Shock

Winnipegdreamer · 27/05/2020 07:06

I miss primark and homesense! Wish they had online stores! I hate shopping at the best of times so can’t see myself going now!

Also Ikea!

one thing I've loved about lockdown is realising how much I don't need all the material crap and how it all just keeps us working more and more to keep up with it.

I can really relate to this. I feel like I don’t want to bring anything more into my home IYSWIM.

No shade on those who can’t wait to go shopping Smile I’m just surprised that I actively don’t want to.
