When you bring it home?

I have been doing this but I forgot last night after getting something at local tesco, now I'm terrified I've brought the virus home

I have never wiped shopping down. We have not had coronavirus (as far as I know.) I would think the risk is miniscule.

ShaniaPayne · 21/05/2020 17:11

no. I haven't wiped down any of our shopping at any point in the last seven weeks and we're all absolutely fine.

Lynda07 · 21/05/2020 17:12

I never have. My things are delivered. I discard excess packaging and sanitise my hands, that's all.

Bluntness100 · 21/05/2020 17:13

I’ve never wiped my shopping or any delivery down either.

ssd · 21/05/2020 17:14

I think it was on here I read people are wiping down their shopping

I have health anxiety and don't know how to stop the panic over this

I’m sure you did read it on here op. Sadly we have people on here terrified to leave their homes or even open their windows in case it comes in.

cyclingmad · 21/05/2020 17:15

No never have and not fallen in but sure someone will come along and say well you could be asymptomatic etc...

vodkaredbullgirl · 21/05/2020 17:17

No

gluteustothemaximus · 21/05/2020 17:20

Yes, we do. It can live on surfaces so we do a quick wipe with dettol then wash hands.

Bluntness100 · 21/05/2020 17:21

I wonder if anyone has ever been proven to have caught it from their shopping,,,,🙄

RaspberryToupee · 21/05/2020 17:22

No. I haven’t wiped my shopping down at all since this started. I’ve also eaten a chicken wrap from the takeaway in its packaging. I think I’ve also forgotten to wash my hands when we’ve handled deliveries. Neither of us have displayed any symptoms of coronavirus.

The risk is minuscule from shopping or deliveries. If you are managing everything else, keeping socially distant and not seeing friends of family in close proximity, then your overall risk is really low. If nobody in the household is vulnerable, it would probably also be good to reassure yourself that it mostly affects those with underlying conditions. I’d also stay away from triggers (news, maybe MN/FB) if you can.

DivGirl · 21/05/2020 17:22

I'm vulnerable and I don't wash my shopping, my friend is shielding and neither does he.

Shelley54 · 21/05/2020 17:23

We've never wiped anything.

sourcreamnchives · 21/05/2020 17:23

Never have

NoHardSell · 21/05/2020 17:24

Nope

Pipandmum · 21/05/2020 17:24

Nope. Risk is tiny. Just wash your hands after unpacking.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 21/05/2020 17:26

No and I never have done.

ivykaty44 · 21/05/2020 17:27

I unpack shopping and put away, wash hands and clean kitchen surface where everything was placed.
They haven’t yet found a positive colleration between packaging and the virus
I’m living with someone vulnerable and I do clean toilet flushes, door knobs everyday routinely, wash my hands regularly

Lolly86 · 21/05/2020 17:27

Never wiped down any shopping Smile

Waxonwaxoff0 · 21/05/2020 17:27

Think of how many supermarket workers touch shopping all day. We haven't had an abundance of coronavirus infections in supermarket workers.

dementedpixie · 21/05/2020 17:28

I have never wiped shopping or deliveries.

ToothFairyNemesis · 21/05/2020 17:29

I do but only because I am shielding. Otherwise I would not. I have a shielding g friend who has ordered Dominos and isn’t worried.
The risks are tiny.

Mintjulia · 21/05/2020 17:29

No, I never have.

I bring shopping home, unpack it all and then wash my hands. The same with the post and parcel deliveries.

DonneWithThis · 21/05/2020 17:32

Nope - and DH works in a supermarket...
