Morning munchkins.

Been awake since 5 so decided to use the time productively for work . Try and fit as much as I can in so then I can be free for DD later and hopefully avoid the shitshow that English was yesterday.

penguins I hope today is a better day. His breathing definitely doesn't sound nice, but you did give me a giggle. Reminded me of a kid some years ago..

Kid: miss! Miiiiss! MISS!

Me: what's wrong ?

Kid: He's...He's breathing! Next to me! It's annoying me miss.

I got about 5am as well.

I have been sat here contemplating how much dogs are aware of.

I mean I cant go to the loo alone and both like to have look down while I trying to flush it. Do they wonder why I dont wee in the garden? Do they understand I am having a wee in the toilet?

Do they know they are different to us? Do they wonder why we only have 2 legs, or can go in the fridge and they cant?

I think I fell down the rabbit hole!Grin

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 12/05/2020 06:18

Oh wow peggy you woke up very philosophical this morning. So many questions...not enough coffee. Grin

It was the cat that woke me. The bastard can get his bags of treats from various hiding places then brings them in the bedroom and paws, bites and jumps at it making a proper racket because no matter how clever he is, he's lacking opposable thumbs.

So I had to wake up , give him treats and tossed and turned then... needed a wee, then needed to brush my teeth, then needed a fag at which point i just said fuck it
I'm getting up.

Peggysgettingcrazy my dog is frightened of the toilet. I often flush away the cat's leftovers when they are too grim even for the dog (he doesnt mind if the cat has only sucked the jelly off). The dog follows me into the toilet but as soon as he hears the splash he backs off.

He doesnt understand why the cat is allowed to use the litter tray and not get told off but he isnt. We used to wonder why there was a puddle around the litter tray when the dog got caught short in the night until DD caught him trying to aim a wee into the litter tray.

If the cat does a poo in the litter tray the dog apologises.

So many questions...not enough coffee

That's exactly it!

I need to prep for a SLT call this morning. Weekly update. Last week we were told its the same people asking questions and they are expecting other people to ask questions. Like we are children.

But also don't ask questions that are only specific to your team. They have to be general questions. Well I don't have any that are general. My department is unique in the business.

Nothing that's applicable to us, is applicable to the rest of them. So as usual I will be laid on the sofa, with my speakers on mute, watching TV. I listen to the first section which is update. Then thats it.

The rest is 'one of my staff, hurt his ankle and then coughed twice .....should he be isolating' then they are told to 'take that offline'

I laughed my arse off last week. My boss said we need to contact our staff furloughed and non furloughed to check in. Make sure they are OK, show we care, listen to their concerns. I am a manger and I didnt need to be told to check in with my team.

But that twat hasn't contacted me, to ask how I am. Not offered support of check I mentally OK. So I don't really pay attention.

Going to ply myself with several cups of coffee, and prepare myself! Grin

Peggysgettingcrazy · 12/05/2020 06:31

@GnomeDePlume little pup is obsessesd with the toilet. Tries to climb in it. She nearly fell in once.

She always sneaks in there when she thinks no one is looking. Also obsessed with the bath.

The oldee one likes to be in there with you....but happy to not inspect the contents of the loo.

I feel enormously for people who are suddenly having to home school. I'm thinking about home schooling the one on the way. I'm thinking about it now, while they're -7 months, not 2 weeks before I have to do it. And if and when I do it, I'll have access to home school groups and tutors and dance classes and swimming classes and music lessons and friends to help me (hopefully the world will be normal shown by then). I can take them to museums and parks and zoos. And if it's not working, I can always accept it's not working and send them to school!

What parents are being asked to do now is not that!

110APiccadilly · 12/05/2020 06:38

I mean, I might not need all of the tutors and classes and stuff at once, but they'll be there if I do.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 12/05/2020 06:40

Peggy I remember asking my team leader if he was ok, as you do. It was a genuine question but because we're not very close(as in not at all) I didn't expect a pretty long list of everything that was wrong in his life, pretty big things as well. Took me a few minutes 'till my brain adjusted into "how to deal with this " mode.

@PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock I did that once. Called a colleague for some information, asked how he was.

I then found out his set up at hime, his parents set up, his oarents list of medical problems, and update on how the parenta are coping, an update on how his wife is coping wfh, an update on how his boss isn't coping that well, a run down of all the extra duties he is doing and his routine and a detailed explanation about how his weekend went.

It took an hour to get off the phone. Shock

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 12/05/2020 06:55

I ended up printing a particular picture that I thought might give him a giggle/encouragement. Funnily enough he still has it in his office.

I got emails from SLT about messaging, calling etc if we need a moan or we're worried or struggling etc. but I don't feel comfortable with it and don't have that kind of relationship with any of them. The people that I did , left. I have trust issues anyways, and some things that happened before all this just reinforced that it's better to pretend everything is hunky dory and find my support elsewhere.

Just saw that on Facebook. Love the 'but don't shake it all about' bit.

Really chuckled me.

Morning all.
Working today long shift with sfa to do. Hopefully it wont drag too much it will . Might end up cleaning like a maniac to.pass the time😄

Early starts all round hope work is good for you.

I am so pleased i am not home schooling my kids. Ds2 can get on with it himself (with the odd moan) and i just check.up he is doing it on time which he is No way i could be teaching chemistry or physics!!
Watched a crap film last night 'Remains' or something i think. Kept watching to see if something was going to happen to pep it up, it did but it was just as crap and the end was ridiculous. Should have just given up and watched something else.😀

Aww cutie pie , I'm sure she won't share it with anyone unless they pass her a nice
treat or throw a ball for her .

Far fetched, ridiculous and rather boring in most parts. So no, not good.

Morning fellow Bananians and our esteemed leader.

I'm trying not to worry about Furlough being reduced to 60 percent and lockdown remaining until end of September. My industry is dependent on other industries being operational in order for us to work. I literally can't cover my living expenses etc on that much income. Certainly no cash left for gin (which might be a good thing).

I've got this horrible sick nervous feeling in my tummy which I'm trying to ignore. I keep checking job boards and applying for stuff as a back up but I guess everyone else is doing the same thing!

Anyway, that aside, the sun is shining and you are all still here.

Pinkginhelps · 12/05/2020 09:02

Thanks Peggy. The cocker pic made me smile....
