Gnome....its proper shit. Luckily, it didn't last too long for me.

I think my boss is coming out of this less of a dickhead.

CrowCat · 07/06/2020 12:55

Eyup gang, just checking in and hope everyone is ok. Migraine keeps hanging in there. I'll call my GP tomorrow. Today, however, is a do absolutely nothing but wear pjs and eat random crap day.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 07/06/2020 13:05

Hello everyone.

Awesome storm last night. All the lightning and thundering.

Nice and sunny today so we're enjoying the outside, where DD rediscovered the joys of mud cakes.🙈

Hello everyone.

Not sunny here (maybe Welsh Gov really are about to let tourists come here now the weather's broken?) Probably a good thing though - the grass is still looking decidedly yellow.

GnomeDePlume · 07/06/2020 20:59

penguinsbegin I am sorry.

Nothing much here. We treated ourselves last night with burgers from 5 Guys. My first ever. It was nice but oh my it is a lot of money for 6 adults to have posh burger and chips! Excuse was that the heating element in the oven had decided to go pop.

STBDSiL is heading back to uni town to clear DD's and his rooms before the lease is up at the end of the month. He has been here for the whole of lockdown so it will be a bit strange. He and DD were due to marry in a couple of weeks but Covid put an end to that. They are still planning to marry ASAP, just need the restrictions to lift.

Trevsadick · 07/06/2020 21:31

@penguinsbegin I am sorry. I hope you are OK we are here if you need to talk x

Morning murderers. First day of jury service today. I hope that there won't be too much hanging around. Can't imagine how it will work with social distancing... Interesting to see if nothing else

Trevsadick · 08/06/2020 12:07

Morning all.

Well my week off is off to shit start. Called the hospital for dp (since he has almost no hearing and cant hear people on the phone) to see if his scans can start again.

They said we had to go back to our gp, and go through referral all over again.....to keep waiting list times short!

Ffs.

But he can go get his hearing aid fitted tomorrow. Which is some good news at last!!!

110APiccadilly · 08/06/2020 12:31

Trev With my statistician hat on, that sounds like manipulation of data to make them look better. If you've got the energy to do it, complain to the health board. I'm pretty sure they shouldn't be doing that.

Trevsadick · 08/06/2020 12:37

110APiccadilly oh yes definitely. They can then claim that their wiatling list times were better than they were.

I have placed a call to the gp. He is reay good and really wants dp to be monitored. Going to see what he says, before I do anything else.

Willow2017 · 08/06/2020 13:34

Trev
Hope your gp is going to kick up a stink on your DHs behalf. Do they seriously think people that have been waiting months for appointments are going to have to restart the whole thing and wait months more?

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 08/06/2020 15:31

Oh Trev that is so shit. As far as I remember it's something quite serious as well that needs proper monitoring isn't it? They can't play pass the fecking parcel with people's lives!

OP posts:
CrowCat · 08/06/2020 16:27

Afternoon chaps, sorry about your DP Trev! Your GP does sound like they're on the ball with it so fingers crossed!

Called my GP about this continuous migraine and no one was available to speak to me today. Call back tomorrow at 8.15am. Awesome.

Lidl was 100% back to normal today. They've got rid of security in the door, stopped the queuing system and they're not limiting the amount of shoppers allowed in at a time. No one was even social distancing and it was packed. The guy on the checkout did tell me though that as of 29th no one will be allowed in without a mask! Err.. isn't that a bit late?

Trevsadick · 08/06/2020 16:57

spoke to the gp. Its not quite what the hospital said. They have got rid of them off the list, technically, but we don't have to go through refferal again. The gp will be booking him direct with them when it becomes available.

However, still no sign of him getting his scan yet.

Odd though, that I rang about his hearing aid, and got given an appointment for tomorrow. They are giving the appointments as people call up. What if people don't think to ring and chase??

@PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock its potentially serious. Its monitoring a problem that, if it gets worse, could cause fluid build up on his brain.

Apparently, that doesnt make it serious enough to warrant a scan yet.

But like I said, at least he has his hearimg aid tomorrow. So that's good. Its a big weight off for him.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 08/06/2020 17:02

Crow that sucks, just keep going at them.

Trev I thought I read something on other threads but all I could remember is that he needs monitoring. Hopefully a scan will be available soon.

GnomeDePlume · 09/06/2020 05:52

It does seem that there is an assumption in the system that everything that isnt Covid19 can go on pause. As though any pre-existing conditions are only considered in relation to Covid19.

Crow and Trev I hope you get some proper attention quckly.

DS and DD have had their supermarket hours cut. Fine for DD as she still has uni work to deal with and will soon be heading back to uni town to be with DF.

Uni is another field of education still trying to find its way. At least at the start it is going to be online rather than face to face. Both DD & DF have reported that lots of their felow students are rethinking their courses and looking to defer for a year. These are going to be lean times for unis as I can see a lot of first years will also be looking to defer their entry.
