I think I am owed some sort of 'Tact and Diplomacy' award after yesterday for not shouting at my boss.
My work involves a lot of tight reporting deadlines at this time of the month.
Despite knowing this boss decided to construct a stupidly complicated spreadsheet. Could I 'just' fill in all the details. No pressure but it needed to be done by the end of the day. Finally finished at 8pm. Data comes from multiple sources, has to be cross checked, layout of spreadsheet doesnt take into account layout of source data so fiddly to copy formulas etc etc etc)
Now I will have to start work in a few minutes so that I can start what I should have been doing yesterday (which is actually normally done by my furloughed assistant).
'Ooh, I do appreciate it' bleats my boss. I dont want to be 'appreciated' I want to be sodding well listened to. Covering my work, my assistant's work and random 'urgent' requests from my boss is making my blood boil.
Lots of lip service has been paid to not making additional requests for reports when we are on skeleton staff but each new request is always a special case. Boss says I should push back on any additional requests but she is the one making the additional requests.
Been told that my assistant cant come back for at least another month for, reasons. Apparently me stuck doing 13 hour days at my desk isnt a good enough reason to bring him back.
Thank you for listening, I needed to get that off my chest. Right, time to go and start shouting impotently at my laptop!
Willow2017 no comfort at all but DS (another Asda picker) got paid someone else's money in the first month, told manager immediately, got thanked for his honesty, got paid correct money for second month. They will 'hopefully' get first month's pay sorted in the third month. He isnt holding his breath!
