well done your Ds. What a great friend he is. Hope he gets to see his pall soon.

Thanks. He is back to his usual self.

Sat eating breakfast with him and he stuck his finger up my nose...cause it was funny 🤷‍♀️

He is seeing him tomorrow so we are all good.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 04/06/2020 17:30

Twat today at pickup.

I was moaning I was cold(got cold in the morning, particularly feet and couldn't shift it) and he said I should be doing more house work ,that will warm me up.Hmm I nearly (smoker's) coughed on him!

Willow2017 · 04/06/2020 17:38

You should have twatted him with a text book Princess😄
There's always one smartass isnt there?

CrowCat · 04/06/2020 18:42

Trev your DS sounds fab 😊

What a shocker of a day. Can't he doing with migraines like this every verse end!!

Turns out exh had been messaging my DB telling him to tell me to unblock him and is it fair on him that I won't answer my phone etc and my DB has said that 'crow is probably off with the guy she's been chatting with..' wtf??! I TOLD him firstly, in confidence, and secondly that it was probably a non starter anyway because I was seeing some twatish behaviour already - and we hadn't even met yet!!

Gahhh!!

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 04/06/2020 18:45

Can you take anything for them Crow?

I actually kinda like DB's response. "She's too busy shagging to deal with your whinging you twat!".Grin

CrowCat · 04/06/2020 19:03

Well he certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons! He can't stand my exh so I can see why he'd say it 😂

I take soluble codeine and ibuprofen which eventually works but takes most of the day! I'm only just starting to feel human again.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 04/06/2020 19:25

That must be annoying. Are they a new thing or have you always had them?

OP posts:
CrowCat · 04/06/2020 19:47

I've had them since I was 11, but I only used to get maybe 2 or 3 a year. They were always manageable so the GP never bothered prescribing anything more than painkillers. They kicked off gradually again around 2 years ago and have built up to round about 1 a week lately. Will definitely have to get in touch with my GP if possible.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 04/06/2020 20:29

So DD's school rang to see if I can pick her up early tomorrow. With not even a day's notice.. that was a resounding NO. She was like "you understand about staffing issues, you work in a school". Yes, precisely because I work in a school I can't randomly fuck off in the middle of the day.Hmm

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 04/06/2020 20:32

crow can you have a phone appt or something? Is your surgery open at all? Such an increase isn't good.

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 04/06/2020 20:43

Princess
Thats ridiculous, ws someone wanting away early and they thought you could just feck off early too?

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 04/06/2020 20:53

I suspect so, and it might be so it's easier to deep clean .

Basically the year groups that are back do only half a day, but keyworkers are normal timetable. So I guess they've been ringing round to see if they could leave early too.

Ironically if they had rang yesterday, or at least let me know this morning I could've sorted something out.

I said I'd try and sorted for next Friday (and probably every Friday ) but OH is adamant I shouldn't bother and let them sort it. 🙈

CrowCat · 04/06/2020 21:06

Ooh princess bit crazy that they think working parents can just organise an early pick up at the drop of a hat!

Our surgery isn't open but I might be able to get a phone consultation.

Willow2017 · 04/06/2020 22:05

Oh Lordy I just found out that one of my colleagues is a dementor!

I dont do FB unless its for work (because I have to) so have been recieiving updates from them...full on "if theres a 2nd wave then its not because of DC its because you went to the beach etc etc" memes, "Shops arent open yet its ok to send kids into school????" Praising NS Shock The whole 9 yards. And I thought they were such a down to earth sensible person too. I will have to just pretend I havent seen any of them when I see them next. I am not getting dragged into that crap. I am doomed!

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 04/06/2020 22:10

Crow definitely try. Wonder if it's situational or something else. Or the obvious 5g killer waves.

Willow I have found that a lot of people I really like in real life are absolute twats on SM. So now I add as few as possible.Grin

GnomeDePlume · 05/06/2020 06:38

I think I am owed some sort of 'Tact and Diplomacy' award after yesterday for not shouting at my boss.

My work involves a lot of tight reporting deadlines at this time of the month.

Despite knowing this boss decided to construct a stupidly complicated spreadsheet. Could I 'just' fill in all the details. No pressure but it needed to be done by the end of the day. Finally finished at 8pm. Data comes from multiple sources, has to be cross checked, layout of spreadsheet doesnt take into account layout of source data so fiddly to copy formulas etc etc etc)

Now I will have to start work in a few minutes so that I can start what I should have been doing yesterday (which is actually normally done by my furloughed assistant).

'Ooh, I do appreciate it' bleats my boss. I dont want to be 'appreciated' I want to be sodding well listened to. Covering my work, my assistant's work and random 'urgent' requests from my boss is making my blood boil.

Lots of lip service has been paid to not making additional requests for reports when we are on skeleton staff but each new request is always a special case. Boss says I should push back on any additional requests but she is the one making the additional requests.

Been told that my assistant cant come back for at least another month for, reasons. Apparently me stuck doing 13 hour days at my desk isnt a good enough reason to bring him back.

Thank you for listening, I needed to get that off my chest. Right, time to go and start shouting impotently at my laptop!

Willow2017 no comfort at all but DS (another Asda picker) got paid someone else's money in the first month, told manager immediately, got thanked for his honesty, got paid correct money for second month. They will 'hopefully' get first month's pay sorted in the third month. He isnt holding his breath!

Trevsadick · 05/06/2020 07:40

How can schools be open for key workers, then randomly close early? If you are a key worker, how can you just drop everything?

And when did 'kids cant walk about' move on to the banned list. My 9 year old goes to the shop.......is that no longer allowed?

How bizarre!

@GnomeDePlume your boss sounds like mine. The one causing issues, then telling you its your fault for doing extra work. Telling you, you should push back.

So frustrating. I cant believe you still don't have your assistant back. My life has massively improved since having the team back. I hope it happens quickly for you.

So I didnt get the job I interviewed for. But in good circumstances. There was a good bit of the job I wasn't sure about. I wasn't sure i could actually manage geh childcare.

So it was by mutual agreement. They have asked that I let them check in with me on a monthly basis as they want to try and find a role for me. So thats good.

I have another telephone interview today. Its just nice that people are even interested.
