Princess I think as with all things people are nervous/worried by change. As soon as anything starts to get in a routine whether it is PPE or just getting up and going to school it will become normal.

Not wearing PPE will then seem strange (aaahhhh!!!! I can see Miss' mouth!)

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 02/06/2020 20:29

I think PPE is a very personal choice and it'll depend so much on someone's circumstances. I don't know if the school demanded it (that would make me feel uncomfortable) or if it was available and most staff felt more comfortable wearing it.

DD had a great day , cane out skipping and chattering and can't wait to go back tomorrow. That's a massive relief for me.

We have so many projects planned, had an awesome day with the kids and did lots of steps and even some exercise according to my fit bit. ATM life is really good.

Still bugs me that I'll be late every day though.. I've been early for the past 5 years.Grin

Princess that's brilliant news! I'm so glad your DD has settled straight back in. That must've been weighing on your mind. And it seems like a positive experience for you too!

Willow2017 · 02/06/2020 22:50

Princess It sounds like both of you had a great day at school. Glad its all going well for your DD, what a relief. You sound like you had as much fun as she did. Grin

Couldnt get my bloody paint in Homebase, cant order it either they arent taking orders. Arghghg.
Had to order a scientific calculator for ds2 on line as well as no bloody stationary shops open yet and none in Asda, took one look at the queue for Tesco and we both said 'sod it'.

Trevsadick · 03/06/2020 06:34

Morning all.

Its absolutely pissing it down here. I reserved the garden so its good but I hope the forecast changes and we get sun again soon.

Glad things are going well for those that are back at school and for the kids. Its so nice to hear peoples lives getting back to normal.

I have decided when the the weather is decent I am going to spend a day a week working in mum and dads garden. It's like a little holiday haven. I want some normality back to. Its just just so nice to hear others stories of getting some of it back. Even though its different.

110APiccadilly · 03/06/2020 06:41

Morning all. Glad to hear things are going well back at school for people.

We went over to my friend's garden yesterday afternoon and had a great time; brilliant to see them.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 03/06/2020 07:50

Morning all

Willow I did! I love the kids , they make me laugh and it's lovely that the ones we have have settled in straight away, are happy ,comfortable and confident. Plus, without the pressure of teaching them and the high numbers(some of our classes have 32 children) we get to know them and their little quirks so much better.

Trev I hope you do get your bit of normal back. Shame about the rain . It's bound to come here too, I can smell it in the air.

110A are you going back?

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 03/06/2020 12:15

Hi all.
After a dull start the suns came out again. Rained off and on last night despite the heat. At least pots were watered twice!

Trying to muster up the motivation to clean the car out its filthy!
I am aching all over today so doing contortions in the car isnt enticing!

Trev sounds lovely hope it happens soon.
110A sounds good too are you doing it again soon?

CrowCat · 03/06/2020 12:36

Afternoon everyone! It feels like some semblance of normal is returning? I certainly hope so. It's raining so that's definitely more normal for us northerners 😂

At least my garden has had w good watering. That's enough now though, I'd like the sunshine back please. I've managed to start cultivating a lockdown tan and that's new to me so I'd like to keep up the momentum!!

No killing today. It's a house cleaning, admin type of day.

Willow2017 · 03/06/2020 16:37

Grrrr am pissed off with work. Got a letter and part 2 of my P45 in post saying they couldnt process it because they need part 3 as well. I originally took in part 2 as part 3 has 'for employee' or something on it. They asked for part 3 so i took it in next shift. It appears they have misplaced it and trying to blame me. Wait till i go in tomorrow😠

Its wine o clock!!

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 03/06/2020 16:41

Ouch Willow hope it gets sorted out.

I'm shattered..130 active minutes . Way too old and fat to be playing football with the boys.Grin

Exh really doesn't like being blocked, bless him. Angry emails saying I need to unblock him on my phone he needs to call me and who is this person I've been chatting to during lockdown and and and.. I've told him that anything he needs to say over the phone he can say via email 🤷🏻‍♀️

He does not like not knowing my business that's a fact!!

Not a clue how he got wind of the guy I was talking with but he's certainly not impressed! Moot point because I blocked him too 😂

Crap news willow, admin is a bastard when your employer can't sort themselves out. Enjoy the wine, I think I'll partake too 🍷

Willow2017 · 03/06/2020 17:03

Piss up in a brewery springs to mind in that place for just about everything Crowcat!!!

CrowCat · 03/06/2020 17:12

Willow sounds like it! My DD1s retail place could be described the same - and has been by me many times!

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 03/06/2020 18:04

That really sucks Willow . It's frustrating enough with normal things, but particularly so with things like P45s. Especially when you have been careful and diligent with it all.

Crow he might not know and just fishing, or his ego is that big that you obviously couldn't care less about him unless there's another dick(literally and metaphorically) i volved.

I'd email back to his man bit with "which one?" But I'm a bit of a twat.Grin

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 03/06/2020 18:24

I agree with Princess he us maybe just fishing trying to trip you up. His ego probably needs you to have someone else to justify your lack of interest in him. Poor little man how can you not be gagging for him?

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 03/06/2020 18:40

I would completely understand gagging at the thought of him though.Grin

OP posts:
CrowCat · 03/06/2020 19:25

😂😂😂 much gagging at the thought of him actually. Also I'd quite like to gag HIM.

GnomeDePlume · 04/06/2020 05:41

CrowCat I visualise him like Violet Elizabeth Bott "I'll thcream and thcream 'till I'm thick".

Trevsadick · 04/06/2020 07:03

Morning all!

Crow I am so sorry he is still a cunt. Often people think when you leave, it's done. Its over. But it never that simple. You deal with it so well.

I had a shit day yesterday. My exh only knows the vague area I live in. He has moved house again and is less than 2 miles away. He still doesn't know where I live but, its pissed me off. I hate that when i do shopping locally he could pop up.

Then last night the whole George Floyd things really hit ds. Not because my family is bame. But because his best friend is from Pakistan. He has already seen it at school. He defended his friend, the other boy went for him and he ended up in a fight. But he didn't realise how bad it was it. I am so proud of him for defending his friend. But last night he just couldn't understand how George Floyd death was allowed to happen, or how wide spread it is.

The realisation, that we have priviledge because we appear white, was an eye opener for him. He doesn't think of us as white and one side of my family and bame.

In the end I settled him in my bed and we watched some videos about why its important we stand up and are counted. And some funny videos, till he fell asleep.

I do think that lockdown has made it worse. I am going to call his friends mum and arrange a walk.

That may help.

But today is a new a day. Sound slide yesterday was rubbish for a few of us. Today will be better! (My attempt at optimism Grin)

110APiccadilly · 04/06/2020 07:39

Morning all. Yes, we will definitely be seeing our friends again (and we have some other friends lined up to see). We're being flexible with the Welsh Government's "5 mile rule" though unfortunately we're not convinced we can be flexible enough to get up to my parents' yet!

Willow my HR department once "lost" a copy of one of my personal documents and then miraculously found it again once I mentioned Data Protection. Might be worth a try?

Crow I reckon your ex was just guessing (or can't imagine how you could ignore him if you didn't have a new bloke). I have a colleague whose ex is like that and he just makes stuff up to see if any of it's true.

Trev all I can say is good on your son for caring and for sticking up for his friend. I know I've worried more about some of my friends the last few weeks because I've not been able to see them so meeting up might help him (and I'm sure it'll be good for both of them anyway.)

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 04/06/2020 12:35

Afternoon all.
Waiting for some proper rain so I don't have to water my plants. Yes, the levels of laziness are very high.

OP posts:
CrowCat · 04/06/2020 14:45

Afternoon, chaps. Dreaded migraine has floored me again 😞

Willow2017 · 04/06/2020 15:10

Trev well done your Ds. What a great friend he is.
Hope he gets to see his pall soon.

110A Well they didnt lose it they just sent it to HO knowing it was only half there because "we send them away as soon as we get them in as there were so many" Just why would you do that knowing you didnt have the other part? Then they sent the other part!!! So i gave been told to wait till its returned then hand them both back in and they will send them off again! Meanwhile my tax is fucked. I give up! Plus i had to leave early today as over my hours! Wtf happened to "you can get all the overtime you want to make up your hours" i was told at interview?? I cant live on the crap hours i am on. 😤😤

To add insult to injury had a soft tyre to deal with. Thankfully someone pointed it out to me while i was sitting in my car finishing my coffee before i left. It started spitting rain when i got the pump out car but thankfully not much. Sun shining but spitting off and on.

Crow hope it goes pdq.
