Morning people!

I think I am going to spend the day emailing Trev! I need to know the technique for cleaning my desk. Do I do it left to right. Is it a 'wax on, wax off' technique, thats best. Ds might cough once and I need advice. One of the dogs is also going to cough.

I actually felt sorry Trev. When he started the MD basically told him to learn the business and get on with it. No direction of where to start, no help. I did help him alot. I started a few months before him. It was bloody hard.

But all sympathy went when he was laughing about people's holidays been cancelled. He was convinced his holiday was safe because it was to the US.

I get holidays, arent the most important thing. But laughing at others while boasting yours was safe, was just shitty behaviour. Then it became clear he wasn't going and he was shitty for days.

Anyway, my kill number must be small this week. Barely left the house. But did do the shopping. Got a hair dye. Going to dry my hair and put my extensions back in at the weekend.

I am going to see my best friend tonight. We worked something out. I can meet her in the park, to walk the dogs and stay 2 meters away from her. But i can't do the same in her garden. I get that. But her garden actually backs straight on to the grass of the park. Its odd that we can do social distancing in the park. But can't if we do it 20 ft away in the other side of her fence, in her large garden. Which is odd. Wouldn't be going there anyway as dp is still staying there.

But just feels weird that we can do it, on one side of the fence, but not the other 🤷‍♀️

Thepigeonsarecoming · 14/05/2020 05:39

Morning Pegs, Trev does seem like a wanker, although maybe he’s just trying too hard 🤷‍♀️

He does sound like he’d actually enjoy you overwhelming him with emails/calls though!

I have sometimes been guilty of querying health and safety assessments, when I've been annoyed by certain over-zealous people. As someone who works in statistics, I tend to ask for evidence that suggested outcome really would be "almost certain" if no one takes mitigating action.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 14/05/2020 08:53

Morning all. I've done so little killing I don't think I can even be called a leader anymore.
Between cold weather, homeschooling and working from home I only ventured to take the bins out. I'm an exemplary frother without the frothing.Grin

Pinkginhelps · 14/05/2020 09:29

Princess.. I hope you licked the bins at the very least.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 14/05/2020 09:34

Fuck no! You should see the state of our (communal) bins! Whatever is on there would kill Corona anyways.

I have seen green shoots of returning MN trenchant good sense. A poster was getting very cross because M&S ready meals she had bought had a lot of salt and fat in them.

Evidence for the prosecution included a pie and a lasagne from the gastro pub range!

There were some quite witty comments and very little agreement with the OP.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 14/05/2020 10:23

Oh jeese I saw that thread last night. Completely ridiculous and sensationalist as was the thread title and the drama over salt.Hmm

How do these people function day to day?

OP posts:
GnomeDePlume · 14/05/2020 11:50

The responses were quite funny.

Killing strictly at a minimum today. I'm sat in the middle of a field and mostly I can hear birdsong.

I might take a walk round my allotment and shout at the plants to get growing.

Hi all, today is the killing spree day. I need things for bbq and more wine and other random crap.

Smile aside from bottoming my house and half heartedly tackling the garden, I feel like the most I've done during lockdown is up my alcohol tolerance too 😂 and completely lose all tolerance for exh and morons in general 😂

Hurrah for hugs! DS and DD1 have both asked if hugs are back on the table when we meet up next and it's absofuckinlutely YES!! Enough is enough now.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 14/05/2020 12:58

How is DD1 feeling Crow?

OP posts:
CrowCat · 14/05/2020 13:20

Princess DD1 is back on top form, luckily whether it was covid or otherwise it was mild and she's great now, thanks for asking. Enjoying the last few days of pjs and Netflix in isolation before she goes back to work on Monday 😊

Willow2017 · 14/05/2020 13:43

Hello fellow yellow citizens.

Today has been non killing so far (although ds1 may be the first casualty if he doesnt move outta bed!)
Sitting out back step for a rolly and coffee. Just put washing out in bright sunshine. 5 mins later its cloudy and blowy😠
Will be killing later as have to go goe bread and milk, those non essentials, bitch that i am.

Have had a mad spurt of enthusiasm and cleaned out a kitchen cupboard and drawer. Now all my spices are in the drawer and other stuff in tidy cupboard. I am easily pleased no?

I have just about given up on most threads on here. The bitchiness continues no matter what the subject. First we had everyone who leaves the house is a murderer now its ok to set up.a garage business taking up half the street and creating noise all day every day with numerous people coming and going all day! (And its not even his normal job) Bet they would be bloody complaining if it was thier neighbour. With the inevitable "dont be a grass" from an apparent adult! My tolerance for people who live thier life like its a bloody gangster film is non existent. I wouldnt want the noise and fumes from motorbikes and cars and being blocked in my street neither.
Glad the hugs are going as planned. I get plenty from my ds2 and even ds1 will give them if i grab him🤣 But i really want to take us all to visit my aunt. She is 90 and my only close relative and we visit regularly. She is going stir crazy too as she was always out and about at her various groups. She fears she will stiffen up completely!

Right what unsuspecting cupboard can i attack next?

110APiccadilly · 14/05/2020 14:22

Glad your DD is doing well @CrowCat

I'm planning to make up for working till 7 last night by skiving off early today and doing lots of exercise in the rather lovely sunshine that there is right now where I live. (It has basically been nothing but sunny since lockdown. Possibly the weather knows that no tourists can get here; as it likes to make sure they get rained on.)

Am waiting for a Welsh government minister to be photo'd visiting their parents so that the guidance can be hastily changed again and I can then visit mine.

CrowCat · 14/05/2020 15:18

Lidl was as depressing as expected. Huge queue to get inside and no fucking flour for the 8th week in a row. People in full PPE happy to barge into DD2 and I. Arseholes

Consequently DD2 is stressed and in her room playing roblox with her best mate on FaceTime, I'm day drinking in the garden while the sun shines, and my washer is flooding the kitchen but I may as well let it get on with it cos it's not showing any signs of stopping so I'll just mop up after. Meh and fml.

The threads on MN are getting more and more ridiculous and I'm sick of trying to engage with those idiots so I'm just gonna hang out with you guys.

Smile that's what I've been doing. Tesco, Sainsbury's and Spar express shops have had their customers decimated by me and DD2 over the last few weeks. Unfortunately my local Spar was unusually badly stocked hence the horror of Lidl 😂

Right at the beginning of the lockdown I ordered one of those gem/diamond bits painting thing. It arrived today and uhmm... it's harder, more fiddly and more boring than i thought. Plus the bits not always lining up drive me bonkers. Grin

But ofc, like the puzzle, since I've spent the money it needs to be done .

Peggysgettingcrazy · 14/05/2020 18:24

Oh my friend does those, even before lockdown. They look lovely when she has finished them.

I find bigger supermarkets better, here. The smaller local ones are awful. I drive 20 mins to the massive Walmart asda, no queues and decent space inside.

However, which ever one I go theres always a price, getting to close. And 99% of the time they are the ones wearing masks. The ones not wearing masks seem to keep their distance.

Low killing day today, I think. But since my team have started coming back I actually got my lunch break and dyed my hair. So I might have killed a small number of people just because ya know.....hair dye!

Oddly, my boss appears to have congratulated me today. Which is odd in itself. But he congratulated me over someghing that was a natural consequence of covid (someone deciding they didnt want to resign). Felt like he congratulated me for starting Covid....just to keep this team member. Odd man.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 14/05/2020 18:36

Peggy 😱

Maybe you DID start COVID! We know who to blame now.Grin

Lots of my friends are doing that ask your kid about Covid questionnaire on FB.

It did made me giggle because all the toddlers with older siblings... said the siblings started it.Grin
