Support thread for those who've had Covid symptoms or post-viral fatigue for at least 7 weeks/49 days or longer.

Day 58 here & I have managed to go a whole day without chest pain, just slight wheezing today.

Gate-crashing as “only” on day 46/47. I’ll qualify soon though!

I have another ten minutes to go before I reach Day 49.

I need to look back at the last thread to catch up on what you said about enzyme levels.

And well done @Arewehere I'd give you a pat on the back for that achievement but...

@Gunner30 thank you. I'm on day 43+ of the virus. I've been starting to feel better. The throat symptoms etc. have all started this afternoon. Thankfully I have an electric blanket. If I hadn't had the virus I'd think I was just coming down with a cold but my chest has started hurting again..

@Dandyish I was too fatigued to notice any grammatical errors!

I'm 7 weeks in now. I've felt massively improved all day. I really hope I didn't overdo it. I felt so energetic I could have been on my feet all day. But we all know that way lies relapse. So I rested lots and lots between bouts of activity. Fingerscrossed I wake up in the morning and haven't gone backwards.

Good morning, I found this which is an interesting read that reflects our drawn out experiences. Hope you all had a reasonable night. Brilliant article. And he's saying what none of the drs are saying- it isn't post viral.

@emoojoo I just forwarded that article to a few people, it's brilliant.
I had to send it in two groups, one saying look. This is us! Isn't it great to be recognised. And the other just said. This is what I've had. I would have liked to have added you arse!

I'm Day 40 too so am gate crashing as the recovery stories give me some hope.

Reading that article is a relief. I had to go to A and E last week as I had an exceptionally painful calf and chest pain. This had come on suddenly but after the rest of my obvious symptoms had abated. I also thought that the neurological symptoms were simply a flare up of my Fibromyalgia. I'm wondering now if it was still the virus. I have also been really down these past few days, this is usually a sign that I'm coming down with something.
This Coronavirus group has been so helpful. I've found that there is no support from those recovering, this group has been an immense source of help.

Day 49

Didn't sleep well. I'm not sure if it's post viral or my asthma.
Tight chest,wheezy,SOB,lungs feel stiff. Still have aches and pains everywhere.
The palpitations are getting less frequent.
The pain in my chest area is not a pronounced. I'm still finding it hard to deep breathe.

Even with all these symptoms still I'm definitely feeling more me.

I think at long last I'm winning the battle.

Thanks for the article, @fedupofbed. A few of my family members said they a saw a segment on the news this morning with those people talking about their symptoms so it’s great that reports on longer recoveries are increasing!

I’m on day 45 now and am slowly understanding my exertion limits and trying to stay positive but always fearful of the dreaded dip as the chest pains are still all over the place. Hope you are all having a good morning.

Hi everyone I’m dropping back in after appearing a few weeks back. DD (11) is still not better and I’m despairing about what to do with her. Three calls to gp, first advice keep an eye, 2nd led to a&e where they performed a load of tests, declared her fine to go home (‘most likely covid but because no admission required, no test), then beginning of last week she had antibiotics in case of secondary infection. No real change, she’s saying she feels awful, doesn’t want to get out of bed, raised temperature (38.4 yesterday, 37.1 this morning), chesty cough, headache, feeling of being blocked up, tummy dodgy on and off...same as it has been for 7 weeks, save for the odd few days when she seemed much better. She is so sad and fed up . Don’t know if I should push for a test now.

Am I right I’m thinking everyone else on the thread are adults and you’ve had severe symptoms earlier on?

@sleepwhenidle I think most people on this thread are adults and have not been admitted to hospital with their symptoms (although a few have). I think that most people’s symptoms would be classified (hollow laugh) as “mild to moderate”. I am so sorry your daughter is still suffering. I don’t know whether an antigen test would be accurate after 7 weeks.

@Dandyish I hope you are feeling a bit better. My question on the last thread was just whether the doctors were concerned about your mildly raised troponin and what they thought was causing it.

Hi, I just wanted to drop in as saw some comments on underarm pain on the last thread.

I have had this on and off for about 10 days. I’m day 56 now.

I’m doing dry body brushing which is meant to help and generally more movement, so I walk twice a day (10/15 mins max) and I do yoga. This has definitely helped over the last 3 days. I do have what I think is costochondritis and maybe something else in my chest that still hurts so I am being careful. I don’t do anything that gets my heart rate up yet but gentle stuff now really seems to help.

Hi, have any of you long-timers suffered with confusion, and if so, did it just go? Did you get any medical help with it?

As I mentioned on a previous thread, my dh has had the virus for weeks - on about day 47 today.

He has had the usual temperature, SOB, lung pain, symptoms were never that bad but just wouldn't go, have kept recurring every day or other day. Was prescribed antibiotics twice, once for a leg infection that mysteriously appeared about a month in, then the following week some more antibiotics for a chest infection.

Last night, he suddenly got a new symptom, confusion. He seemed quite out of it and woozy. I called 111 for advice and they wanted to call him an ambulance but he refused as it was midnight by this point and he wanted to sleep. He's going to call the GP this morning as still woozy.

Has anyone else had this? Could it be connected with heart issues (he's had chest pain)? Or an infection? Or something neurological?

Day 51 for me here, does anyone else still have mild, cyclical symptoms, like having CV all over again but they disappear within a few hours? I can get a few hours of coughing, then nausea, then loss of smell and taste, then all back to normal within the same day. Or sudden headache with all my sinuses inflamed - normally this means a massive sinusitis for me, but this one just disappears in a few hours.

Also, have any of you been in hospital for treatment? I know babdoc had on the other thread - anyone else?

If so, how did that go?

@myguy acute confusion/delirium can be caused by an infection so he really needs to be checked out urgently imo.

I am suffering from low level chronic brain fog/confusion/memory problems throughout this illness which I put down mainly to fatigue and general malaise (as well as underlying menopause).

There is also evidence that covid can have direct neurological effects (including possibly direct cognitive effects) in some people.

Had a bad chest pain all night again, it feels like it's got my heart in a firm grip. It's so painful and my chest is juddering and gurgling and I have pins and needles in my left arm... I really think I need to go to A&E now but I'm so scared...
