@HilaryThorpe good luck with the house purchase.

StrangeLookingParasite · 17/11/2020 22:52

I know it's necessary, and of course I'm doing all the things (sanitiser, attestation every time I leave the house, masques everywhere) but it's just really getting to me this time.
We're booked to go up to the alps for New Year. I hope we get to go. I really, really need something to look forward to.

So yesterday they reported 45 000 cases.
Except that you can find in small print that we actually had 12 000 new cases. The rest were antibody tests, so people who have had it.

If they count the 45K then that will mess up the incidence rate though - Macron said he wants it under 5K, didn't he? And this will also affect the quarantine requirements and travel restrictions other countries have imposed.

It's settled to about 20,000 a day now. In a few days that 45,000 will be off the 7 day average at least.

Just seen this has been reactivated.

Definitely nothing like Lockdown I around here.
No gendarme patrols, no roadblocks, lots of people not wearing masks, no distancing in supermarkets... In light of that, I, too, have gone all mega rebel and started cycling along a totally deserted country lane beyond the 1km perimeter. Shock

The Conseil d'UFR at my university are the most batshit crazy optimists ever, and only accepted last Friday that we couldn't do exams onsite (13k students? no problem), so now they are scrabbling to work out how to do them online without mass cheating and/or the system crashing. 13k is only my UFR: there are 70k altogether, so logging on during a 2wk exam period and doing time-limited exercises should be a doddle.
If they'd been realistic and agreed, as lots of us said, that we needed to plan ahead a couple of months ago, it would perhaps have been less of a huge shitshow.

Same here, been quite a different lockdown from the last one! Have moved house and lots of trips out and about. Waiting for Emmaus to open so i can get rid of lots of furniture. Waiting to see what Macron says on tuesday i believe so i can start to think about christmas.

13k students onsite! Wow!
