I can't see any reason why I wouldn't. Has anyone got any concerns about it?

I will

Fallsballs · 01/05/2020 17:26

I’d like to know is behind it/owns it first.

YouReallyAre · 01/05/2020 17:26

Yes I will

EffieIsATrinket · 01/05/2020 17:28

Definitely.

Hagisonthehill · 01/05/2020 17:28

How does it work if you're and NHS worker or do I ignore all the patients with Covid who have the app.If I turn it off at work I would also miss any staff that become infected.
If they could develope faster testing that wouldn't be a problem but one staff member could close a department for a few days while we arrange testing and await results.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 01/05/2020 17:32

No. For numerous reasons, some of which are explained in this article: www.businessinsider.com/cybersecurity-experts-uk-government-contact-tracing-surveillance-2020-4?r=US&IR=T.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 01/05/2020 17:34

Probably not. I'll take the same approach to it as I do for my personal need for PPE or testing.

Mainly because in my normal life I don't have close contact with anyone other than DH for more than 5 minutes.

So I would be wasting analysis time.

JacobReesMogadishu · 01/05/2020 17:42

My initial reaction is yes, why not.

But then what difference would it make? If I get an alert that I’ve been in contact with someone it’s too late to do anything about it. It would just raise anxiety. Maybe you’re better off just acting like everyone you meet out the house could well have it and keep your distance?

PeachOrchid27 · 01/05/2020 17:45

No

LtJudyHopps · 01/05/2020 17:45

JacobReesMogadishu the difference is you then know to self-isolate and therefore do not spread to any more people. Thus keeping R as low as possible.

Runningfar · 01/05/2020 17:57

I must admit that I don't really understand how it's all going to work, but I presumed it would be along the lines of. If you ve been in contact with someone with Covid then you isolate, therefore keeping the R low, you might even be eligible for a test.

BirdieFriendReturns · 01/05/2020 17:58

Nope.

Eeyoresstickhouse · 01/05/2020 17:59

TheWordWomanIsTaken · 01/05/2020 18:00

maddy68 · 01/05/2020 18:00

Yes

starfishmummy · 01/05/2020 18:02

No. I have only been in contact with dh and ds and ds hasnt been anywhere either. So no point

JulietTango · 01/05/2020 18:02

Yep

halfthesun · 01/05/2020 18:03

Yes

JacobReesMogadishu · 01/05/2020 18:03

Ok, if it improves self isolating I’m all for it. Hopefully if I have to go back to work soon it will keep beeping at me and I can keep telling my boss I have to go back into self isolation. Grin

Bubbinsmakesthree · 01/05/2020 18:05

I was speaking to a colleague in China in early March who was talking to me about the contact tracing apps used over there and I thought it was the kind of wild thing that could only happen under an authoritarian government.

Two months later I’m like “yeah sure thing why not?”

Firef1y72 · 01/05/2020 18:05

I will, but as soon as the need to over I will delete it and if necessary buy a new phone if I feel it cannot be fully deleted

Runningfar · 01/05/2020 18:09

No. I have only been in contact with dh and ds and ds hasnt been anywhere either. So no point

So will you be staying in lockdown until there's a vaccine rolled out?

OP posts:
GoatyGoatyMingeMinge · 01/05/2020 18:11

No

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 01/05/2020 18:11

Absolutely not.

GoatyGoatyMingeMinge · 01/05/2020 18:12
