New thread for those having longer symptoms of Covid.

OP posts:
Countingsheeps · 03/05/2020 15:59

Thank you @Egghead68 I hope your symptoms resolve themselves too and that you don’t have any lasting damage xx

godhelpusall · 03/05/2020 16:00

@fedupofbed just to say I had the horrid doom feeling on waking. It's gone now (touch wood) - I think it was actually a later thing for me

fedupofbed · 03/05/2020 16:02

@baroqueandblue that's great you're making progress, good to hear.

@Countingsheeps I'm glad that you're home. What a relief with your tests, and makes a real difference I find if you have a sympathetic doctor.

@Crayfishforyou I would definitely take frustration and boredom as a good sign! Make sure to take it very slowly though, the school stuff can most definitely wait.

fedupofbed · 03/05/2020 16:09

@godhelpusall not just me then. I find it one of the worst symptoms, and also find it a barometer for how I feel for the rest of the day. Good to hear you don't have it any more - gives me hope that it will eventually leave me too.

JackJackIncredible · 03/05/2020 16:11

I’ve lost track of days, day 52 maybe? I was in a small room with someone for an hour, who was found to be CV positive.

Can’t get my sats above 90-91%. Temp fluctuating between 37.7 and 37.9. I’ve been treated for a secondary infection and I got so much better. This sucks.

Moodgie · 03/05/2020 16:14

Sending hugs to everyone.
Felt OK this morning. Now I feel like a cold coming. #anditkeepsongiving

emoojoo · 03/05/2020 16:26

@godhelpusall just going back thru today's thread, and hadn't answered your q earlier sorry - no I've not been tested. My GP seems convinced I've had it and am in post viral stages .
Also I spotted on today's thread someone mentioning chills/tremors coming back (was it @pinkoneblueone?) and wanted to add that I've had these back this week too. Hope everyone doing ok this evening.

fedupofbed · 03/05/2020 16:32

@JackJackIncredible I'm sorry you're struggling today too, especially with the SATS. Maybe you should get checked out again?

godhelpusall · 03/05/2020 16:32

@emoojoo it's just whether you would still show a positive test. Who knows with this virus? It's not as if anyone is testing us to find out.

emoojoo · 03/05/2020 16:41

@godhelpusall it would be interesting. Although I've read somewhere recently that patients with 2nd positive tests (was it in S.Korea?) being due to the tests picking up dead virus cells and not distinguishing between live and dead virus cells.

Tangledyarn · 03/05/2020 16:56

@JackJackIncredible Sorry you are struggling still, its quite difficult to manage with pre existing stuff isn't it? Is it worth a contact with your gp/consultant?

My asthma has been bad this weekend but it's hard to know whether it's ok enough to leave it and it will gradually improve or whether to start prednisolone.

Dorual · 03/05/2020 17:03

@JackJackIncredible sorry you're feeling unwell. Are you worried you'll be reinfected from the person you shared a room with? I thought you tested positive?

fedupofbed · 03/05/2020 17:08

I just found this resource on the Slack group - it's a website set up by Asthma UK and British Lung Foundation for post covid breathing difficulties with a specialist helpline (office hours). Not read it properly yet but looks useful.

Tangledyarn · 03/05/2020 17:31

@fedupofbed That's helpful. I just did the questionnaire :)

Porcupineinwaiting · 03/05/2020 17:39

@fedupofbed. Really useful, thanks.

Egghead68 · 03/05/2020 17:46

@JackJackIncredible I’m sorry you are having a bad day. Are you able to see a doctor again? You must feel lousy with those sats.

JackJackIncredible · 03/05/2020 18:01

@Dorual
Sorry I wasn’t clear. I believe I initially caught covid from a health care professional who treated me in March. Less than a week later, I started spiking temps of 39.5 plus and received contact from Public Health that I’d been exposed. I was just summarising my journey as I know there are newbies. I’m shielding so hopefully not come into contact with anyone else.

JackJackIncredible · 03/05/2020 18:02

Thanks all, I’m just very tired. I’ll call my GP tomorrow if I’m no better.

Dorual · 03/05/2020 18:04

Ah OK thankyou @JackJackIncredible

Were you both wearing masks out of interest?

JackJackIncredible · 03/05/2020 18:37

@Dorual

This was slightly before it all kicked off, so neither of us were. I since found out the healthcare prof had caught it off another patient who had been to Wuhan and not advised anyone of his/her symptoms!

alittleprivacy · 03/05/2020 18:38

I just found a channel on youtube from a yoga instructor recovering from Covid. I've only skimmed her videos but she says she's finding the recovery process very challenging and has devised some meditations and gentle routines to help.

Crayfishforyou · 03/05/2020 19:53

I have had such a good day.
I've gone for a little walk, I've not been crippled with dizziness all day. My pulse has largely behaved itself, only a couple of little wobbles.
I'm just terrified it's all going to come crashing down with another dip.

Egghead68 · 03/05/2020 20:44

Such a lovely feeling when you get a good day isn’t it @crayfishforyou? May you have many more.

Crayfishforyou · 03/05/2020 20:50

@Egghead68
For the first time in over 30 days I've walked up the road and back.
I've steadily got better since my dip on wednesday, I just can't bear another one. The worst one was last weekend.
Underlying the peaks and troughs I am getting stronger. I would just like to just be better now.

fedupofbed · 03/05/2020 20:53

@Crayfishforyou yay that's wonderful!
