New thread for those having longer symptoms of Covid.

OP posts:

@dorual I don't know, I don't think so. I was pretty fit before. And during exercise I used to feel good when my heart sped up. Now it feels awful. It does it if I stand too long too but not as high, more of 105/110

I hope your temp goes down. It's probably your immune system finding some dead virus and throwing a tantrum.

NotAnotherUserNumber · 01/05/2020 21:57

@CanIdoItLater

Glad to hear you are doing so well today! Thanks for posting, it helped to make me more optimistic.

Dorual · 01/05/2020 22:05

Scared about this stupid low grade fever back. Whhhyy?

Moodgie · 01/05/2020 22:07

Anyone still having breathing issues this far along? Not shortness of breath but more like a constricted feeling? Hard to describe.

alittleprivacy · 01/05/2020 22:08

@fedupofbed that's great about your heart rate. Must be such a relief. Can I ask how many days you've had the cardiac symptoms for? Have they been there all along or quite recent?

I started noticing heart palpitations on day 12. I hadn't been wearing my smart watch while I was sick but I charged it up and reset it to check my heart rate every 2 minutes instead of 5. And it was just absolutely nuts. I'd check when I felt the palpitation and could have a heart rate of up to 169bpm, when I'd just be in bed doing nothing. I use the Cardiogram app, which gives you a graph of your heart rate for every day and my graphs have been insane. Huge random spikes for no reason. My heart rate up and down all the time. Today's graph is the first time in a very long time that it has made sense.

emoojoo · 01/05/2020 22:30

@moodgie yes I get a constructed chest type feeling on and off, mine is helped by burping a lot, much to my 2 ds amusement. I take rennies/gaviscon to hit.
@dorual I've had low grade fever on and off all through this (now day 41) and it was 38 this morning so I asked gp when she called - she seemed to think it was caused by the body dealing with some post viral inflammation - I've had loads of GI issues this week. She's told me to keep taking paracetamol.

emoojoo · 01/05/2020 22:31

Sorry I mean constricted not constructed and help not hit! Phone keypad went funny

Moodgie · 01/05/2020 22:31

Thank you @emoojoo. I’ll give gaviscon a go now.

Tangledyarn · 01/05/2020 22:37

I walked round the block at teatime. Which turns out is too far as have been breathless and had palpitations since. Also had to use my inhaler an extra time (on top of the double I am already using it) Very frustrating but at least now I know I guess!

emoojoo · 01/05/2020 22:42

@Moodgie also I found out hand on shoulder and circle arm helps release (do both sides), stand straight and bend round to the back with torso, as does lying on back stretched out with arms above head, and also tucking knees to chest and rolling on back. (I've had a lot of burp trouble!) - hope it helps for you.

fedupofbed · 01/05/2020 22:45

@alittleprivacy so quite a while then, must be a relief after all this time. My rising heart rate and palpitations started quite late. I'm really bad at tracking all my symptoms but it's probably only last 7-10 days ago that I first noticed.

@Moodgie yes my breathing feels very restricted still, hate it!

@Dorual every day without fail my temperature gradually rises to about 37.8 (day 62)

Dorual · 01/05/2020 22:52

Thanks all. After nearly 20 days without a hint of a fever though.. now it starts back up? Also slight cough back too. Should have known something was flaring up after my dizziness this morning :(

Lightsabre · 01/05/2020 22:56

@Moodgie, start of week 6 for me and I have a very tight chest but unfortunately am still very short of breath on activity. It's awful and no one seems to have an explanation. I have developed a raw windpipe again this afternoon.

Moodgie · 01/05/2020 22:57

@emoojoo Thank you, will try all these. @fedupofbed Thank you, and I hope you feel better soon, as I hope for all of us on this thread.
Spoke to my neighbour today as saw him outside, he’s on 4 weeks now but been venturing out for two weeks, so not as bad and us, but says he still has throat that feels inflamed and his breathing is still off - felt fobbed off when calling up, told at one point it was a throat infection. Makes you wonder how many people like us there are out there.

Moodgie · 01/05/2020 22:58

@Lightsabre Thank you and sorry to hear that. Throat and windpipe have been really annoying here the last two weeks.

user34254356 · 01/05/2020 23:02

@crayfishforyou my pulse does exactly the same when climbing up the stairs. I'll be interested to know what your GP says as mine is just not interested in helping or listening to me

OverTheRainbowLiesOz · 01/05/2020 23:09

I tried the Gaviscon and my throat feels a bit better so I'll keep taking it and hope for the best. Whether I've got THE virus or another virus, it is really dragging on.

Kitcat122 · 01/05/2020 23:22

@Moodgie I am better feel good. Back to work But still have restricted lungs and sob when walking fast or up hill.

Moodgie · 01/05/2020 23:30

@kitcat122 So glad to hear that. My restricted feeling doesn’t seem to be linked to activity.

Wingingit15 · 01/05/2020 23:38

Eurgh so fed up. Had two better nights and today back to burning itchy lungs and waking . Have two under fives and an a single parent with zero help, this is really getting me down. Do I have post viral covid ? Is this something else? Am I ever going to feel normal again 🥺

Lightsabre · 01/05/2020 23:47

Sympathies @Wingingit15, that must be so hard. I don't know how far in you are but if it's over 3 weeks, it's very likely inflammation of the respiratory passages. Hot drinks and paracetamol help. I use Vicks vapour rub too.

alittleprivacy · 01/05/2020 23:50

@fedupofbed so quite a while then, must be a relief after all this time. My rising heart rate and palpitations started quite late. I'm really bad at tracking all my symptoms but it's probably only last 7-10 days ago that I first noticed.

Chest wall inflammation can cause heart palpitations and they definitely coincided with my costochondritis symptoms. I'll definitely be wearing my watch everyday now. I think that normal heart function will be a good sign that the inflammation is coming down and that a genuine recovery is happening.

Wingingit15 · 01/05/2020 23:59

Thanks , I think I’m about day 45 ish. Am now in cycle of being scared to sleep in case I don’t wake and my tinies find me 😕

pinkoneblueone · 02/05/2020 00:03

@moodgie yes day 54 was my most recent breathless day it as days 52/54. It was awful hubby has it now too :( he's 3'days behind next
