Why aren't the Met Police stopping the public congregating there for the2nd week in a row ??

SkelingtonArgument · 24/04/2020 17:48

I’m “the rest of the country” and I don’t hate Londoners

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 24/04/2020 17:53

The rest of the country doesn't hate Londoners.

bigchris · 24/04/2020 17:53

Knew someone would pick up on that Grin

Okay that aside , any other comments ?

OP posts:
bigchris · 24/04/2020 17:54

It's worse in London , so if the police aren't taking it seriously there why should the rest of us ?

OP posts:
HappyHammy · 24/04/2020 17:55

Its the same in lots of places with people clapping and standing near each other even in hospital carparks

Inkpaperstars · 24/04/2020 17:55

I don't think those people particularly represent Londoners.

PumpkinP · 24/04/2020 17:56

Why can’t they just stop this ridiculous clapping then?! There’s no need for it. The first time was nice but stop it now.

PerkingFaintly · 24/04/2020 17:56

Oh fuck off with your divisive, goady, thread title.

Really.

MNHQ can delete me if they like, but I've had enough of this goady crap.

bigchris · 24/04/2020 17:58

Agree with PumpkinP, its not really working any more is it ?

OP posts:
joystir59 · 24/04/2020 17:58

Can't stand the effing clapping banging and fireworks. Meaningless! How could anyone join in with this nonsense!

bigchris · 24/04/2020 17:59

@PerkingFaintly not goady at all, whatever that means , it's trending all over Twitter, it is an honest question, why have the police let it happen 2 weeks in a row ?

OP posts:
TJH130 · 24/04/2020 17:59

There was a video on Twitter from St Helens hospital. They were all standing close and it was a mass gathering so not just London.

bigchris · 24/04/2020 18:00

Also agree with @joystir59

OP posts:
bigchris · 24/04/2020 18:01

A hospital is different surely, or do you mean the public travelled to the hospital to clap Shock

OP posts:
Drivingdownthe101 · 24/04/2020 18:02

I don’t hate Londoners at all, but the congregating on Westminster bridge is absolute fucking madness.

notangelinajolie · 24/04/2020 18:08

It is an actual disgrace when there are people gasping their last breath just a stone's throw away.
Thank goodness the vast majority of people in this country are not as selfish.

Inconnu · 24/04/2020 18:08

I honestly don't understand why you would hate someone just because of where they come from / live.

And if you didn't want people to pick up in that, why put it in your thread title? Hmm

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 24/04/2020 18:10

I'm with you op, I really hate Londoners..

(Not really...)

Tho this clapping shit is bothersome now, not just London, but all of it.

Support the NHS by getting it funded properly. Support key workers by getting them raises. Support local businesses by using them. Clapping does absolutely Fuck all.

bigchris · 24/04/2020 18:14

Exactly notangelinajolie

True thread title probably ill judged

had just read the furore on Twitter and it's not complimentary about London just now

OP posts:
bigchris · 24/04/2020 18:14

The news is often London centric which doesn't help

OP posts:
MonkeyToesOfDoom · 24/04/2020 18:16

Seems, at times, the whole of England is London. Up here in the northeast is like a different country.

bigchris · 24/04/2020 18:17

It's getting to the point where London should be in lockdown, and some other cities but not the whole country , people are staying in , missing families, losing their homes , jobs etc but in the capital where it is most prevalent the police have let for 2 weeks in a row crowds congregate in the exact same place !

OP posts:
bigchris · 24/04/2020 18:17

My point exactly @MonkeyToesOfDoom

OP posts:
BakedCam · 24/04/2020 18:18

You speak for the rest of the country?

Your thread title is a classic example of poor comprehension.

Chienloup · 24/04/2020 18:21

You "knew someone would pick up on" a statement which is more than half your thread title? Obviously.
