Why aren't the Met Police stopping the public congregating there for the2nd week in a row ??

I'm in Newcastle so you're most likely right, thick as Grin

Chienloup · 24/04/2020 18:23

I don't hate Londoners. The 100 or so people on Westminster aren't representative of 9 million Londoners, you goady wazzock.

bigchris · 24/04/2020 18:23

Chienloup

You don't have to click on it .....anything to say about the actual subject ?

BakedCam · 24/04/2020 18:23

You're most welcome. Grin

I love the North East and its people.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 24/04/2020 18:23

Alternatively, let's hear it for Wordsworth ... I had to for my Eng. Lit. so you call can too Grin

Earth has not any thing to show more fair:
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty:
This City now doth, like a garment, wear
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie
Open unto the fields, and to the sky;
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.
Never did sun more beautifully steep
In his first splendour, valley, rock, or hill;
Ne'er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep!
The river glideth at his own sweet will:
Dear God! the very houses seem asleep;
And all that mighty heart is lying still!

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 24/04/2020 18:26

I'd suggest reporting your original post tho op and asking MN to change the title. I asked them to, bit they might need your say so. 👍

bigchris · 24/04/2020 18:27

Sadly it's not silent ,bare or asleep, or wasnt last night

Love wassock, need to bring that word back into modern vernacular

I am in London. Haven't stepped out of our house for over a month.
Can't understand why this public clapping is allowed. Defeats the entire purpose of 'stay home, save nhs'. Our neighborhood has been clapping from their balconies, windows, gardens and doorstep. Don't get this weekly clapping if it results in situations like the one you stated.
Don't hate people living in London though.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 24/04/2020 18:29

DGRossetti

Was that about London?

Where's the lines about the drugs, crime, property prices, pollution and homelessness issues? They in verse 2?
😝

bigchris · 24/04/2020 18:30

Agree lockdown! It needs stopping if people can't contain it to doorsteps

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 24/04/2020 18:30

Will do @MonkeyToesOfDoom and thanks for being nice !

That's the first time I've been called that on MN... 😂

Lovinglockdownlife · 24/04/2020 18:31

It was rammed at Sunderland hospital

LouMumsnet · 24/04/2020 18:38

We're just bobbing on here to let you know that the OP asked us to edit the thread title so it's a bit less fighty controversial. We agreed that was a good idea.

Hope that helps, @bigchris Wink

Peace and love. Flowers

Namechangervaver · 24/04/2020 18:41

Right, I need to know what the thread title originally was. It's pretty confusing without knowing 🤷‍♀️

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 24/04/2020 18:41

Awesome thanks MN...

Now we can really rip the shit out of Londoners and no one will notice.. 😝😂

SunshineCake · 24/04/2020 18:42

Just because some people aren't following the rules doesn't mean you don't have to or shouldn't Hmm. You dying won't really show them!

1forAll74 · 24/04/2020 18:43

I think that the clapping gatherings,are now a bit of an escape from homes, an outing as such. Not all the people. but those who have traveled to go to certain clapping places, and of course with their phones to record everything. I wonder if people are going to be clapping and banging things until Christmas and beyond.

TitsInAbsentia · 24/04/2020 18:44

I'm a Londoner. I hate the people that congregate on the bridge to clap...virtue signalling twats, should be at home/near home/doing as their told but no, let's make it a spectator sport...

HeIenaDove · 24/04/2020 18:48

I wonder if they will go for the hat trick next week.

bigchris · 24/04/2020 18:50

@MonkeyToesOfDoom Grin

Helena - it'll be a disaster for the met police if they let it go on again next week !
