@Lightsabre

Thanks for your reply, hope you're doing well. It sounds like you're making good progress with the walking. Any news on your test result?

My breathe has improved but only slightly and it's still debilitating unless I'm laying on my front or leaning forward. I couldn't walk for 5 minutes.

I had a course of Doxycycline in the first week or two for my chest, and a course of Amoxicillin a week or two ago for an ear infection.

I had some pretty thorough tests at the hospital yesterday and a good chat with a DR, so off the back of that I'm not sure my GP would prescribe Doxy over the phone(?). I'd happily take them though.

@tangledyarn @musicposy @egghead
Thank you!
I've just got off call from gp. She is 99% sure I have COVID and says I have all the symptoms. As my sats and breathing are ok she doesn't think antibiotics needed. She said to take the 4 x doses of paracetamol regularly every day, take my electrolytes drink, lots of fluid, rest. She said they are finding lots of patients are going on and on with awful pulsating up and down symptoms, and she said they are realising that they are going to have to look after these type of cases for quite some time to help us get better. She says the longer cases are not common but she has 6 patients with over 35 day symptoms and recurring relapses. She's calling me again on thurs. So a reassuring call but rubbish nonetheless as this thing seems to just go on and on. Hope everyone is doing ok and best wishes to allThanks

MyBeloved · 28/04/2020 09:11

Hello everyone. I'd say I'm roughly 3.5 weeks in. Symptoms are now coming and going but had a really bad night last night and got very scared.

Can anyone tell me which digidoc app they downloaded please?

Wishing you all well.

Kitcat122 · 28/04/2020 09:18

@Millstone I'm still here with chest pain and sob week 7😩.

emoojoo · 28/04/2020 09:28

@Crayfishforyou Sorry to hear about the cough, that must be tough. I've only had a little cough during this which has not been troublesome, but my ds14 has had a worse cough. I get flushed cheeks at the moment each time when my temp goes over about 37.5 last night I had a bit of red rash all over while the temp was 37.7. My ds12 started on 15th March with red face and headache, his face still flushes quite regularly since then.

MillStone · 28/04/2020 09:34

Hi @Kitcat122

How awful, sorry to hear that. Does your posture or position make it better or worse?

Lightsabre · 28/04/2020 09:35

@MillStone, expecting the result today which I think will be negative as I took it on Day 29ish. Also had the private antibody test which was negative so there is a distinct possibility that this isn't Covid for meSad even though I've had a lot of the classic symptoms. Seems like your GP is on the ball with the meds. Did they do bloods at the hospital? Mine have all come back generally ok - high Ferritin and low Vit D so have started a supplement.

Meercatmama · 28/04/2020 09:36

Hi
Now I am really fed up Day 44 and woke up with pains in my chest, the cough still , a slighty stuffy nose. my right arm aching ( could have slept on it) and generally feeling tired although I have had over ten hours sleep. Took my heart tablets and the antidepressant and although I can feel the right side of my chest being a bit heavy seems to have calmed it down a bit. So fed up of this as I have again taken a backward step. I am going to take it easy today and deal with the shopping when it is delivered and try and do some work for school online. No household chores for me only what is necessary between me and the husband as no one is going to see.

Lightsabre · 28/04/2020 09:36

@Crayfishforyou, you might need another antibiotic.

onlinelinda · 28/04/2020 09:42

I was at my most miserable between days 26-32 as it just kept coming and going. I then had a mini overnight blip on day 38 and have been fine since. Day 44 now and well, so I'm hopeful. I have been warned to take it easy to avoid relapse, and to build up exercise slowly.

MillStone · 28/04/2020 09:48

@ Lightsabre

All the best with your result if you get it back today :)

Surely it has to be Covid! Maybe your AB test drew a false reading. They are taking a bit of heat for being unreliable.

Yes they took my bloods again at the hospital. I explained I'd had some 10 days earlier at my GP, but they did repeat tests anyway, plus a few extra to look for specific problems.

They also did a chest / heart Xray, ECG, Listened to my chest and took blood pressure and Oxygen etc.

emoojoo · 28/04/2020 10:13

Update, my go just called back and having spoken to colleagues has made me a clinic appointment for this afternoon - have to take a stool and urine sample with me and also get blood tests. Will report back Confused

Crayfishforyou · 28/04/2020 10:16

I've spoken to my very lovely old school sensible GP.
She has prescribed me some doxycycline and is going to ring me back next week, and every week to check on my progress.
She sounded a bit pissed off that A&E wrote me off with anxiety. A&E told me it was foolish to have a pulse oximeter when I didn't or never had the virus as it just fed anxiety. GP disagrees, and says it's really useful, which helps me not feel like a neurotic mess. And that I had clearly had covid 19 and it might take a long time but I will get better.
She just doesn't know when.

godhelpusall · 28/04/2020 10:17

Wow @emoojoo it sounds like your gp is doing her job properly! I feel bizarrely envious. Hopefully nothing serious but some answers would be good.

Crayfishforyou · 28/04/2020 10:18

@emoojoo
I hope you get some positive answers at the clinic.

I didn't have a cough at all before last week, and it still isn't as bad as it was with swine flu, that was ALL cough.

Lightsabre · 28/04/2020 10:19

@MillStone, you've been so well looked after! I've had to pay privately for the same tests.

Just got my results back and it's negative which I was expecting as I took it around Day 30. Glad of that and know now that I'm experiencing secondary infections/post viral symptoms. My only big worry is that it wasn't Covid all along and now I'm at risk again.

Kitcat122 · 28/04/2020 10:23

@Millstone I sleep fine. Back at work and feel good. Doing all housework, kids etc. Just STILL have the chest issues. Been stuck at the same point for 10 days. Can't complain as better than most just frustrated and alittle anxious at times about getting better. Can I ask what the hospital doctor said about your chest symptoms? Xx

mumlurker · 28/04/2020 10:28

Glad to see many of you are getting medical attention, though I have to say I'm a little jealous. My GP checked over my lungs and basic stats but has been really hesitant to look further into things and seems a bit bamboozled by me taking so long to get better.

Day 46 here and after a good week last week chest is weird and painful again. I have to just sit/lie still because the slightest thing sets it off. Glands also very swollen and windpipe burning. I wake up every morning with a sore throat but it seems to ease off over the day. Legs screaming out for exercise though!

Lightsabre · 28/04/2020 10:31

@mumlurker, could it be a secondary infection?

Joeaj23 · 28/04/2020 10:32

Test result came back today - negative
No surprise given it was done 47 days after symptom onset

mumlurker · 28/04/2020 10:34

@Lightsabre

It's possible. GP thinks it's post-viral - either way, her view seems to be I'm young and healthy otherwise so just have to ride it out!

Egghead68 · 28/04/2020 10:36

I spoke too soon earlier. Relapse day for me today (day 38/39). Chest pain front and back, extreme fatigue and facial (sinus?) pain. Am only working in 10 min bursts and going to bed in between. A colleague who is further on than me said she still gets off dats like this.

Egghead68 · 28/04/2020 10:37

Odd days not off dats

Moodgie · 28/04/2020 10:43

@mumlurker Same experience with the GP.
Also same having sore throat and burning windpipe. Add to that the morning runny tummy and nausea.

Dorual · 28/04/2020 10:48

Having an anxious day today. When are hou past the risk of cytokine storm? Surely you're at risk however long you're battling inflammation from this illness?
I ask because my Ferritin level has raised despite being anaemic in February. It hasn't raised a lot, but enough for me to think it's the virus and not diet caused.
