It would only work if 60% of the population dowloaded it.

Would you?

It’s a strategy that has worked in various countries. It’s silly to just say ‘oh that couldn’t possibly work here so let’s not try’.

We don’t have many options! As another posted listed this is one option, the others aren’t great!. I have no idea why people are dismissing it without even seeing how it would work here and what has been developed. This is one way out of this crisis and could avoid repeated lockdowns. Surely it’s worth exploring.

Not everyone has access to a smartphone that could support the app. If it becomes compulsory I will just disobey the law regardless of the consequences. I have an obligation to uphold the rule of law but not to the extent of a law that ignores that rule of law.

The aus government have released something similar or are about to
No way in hell will I download.
I don't keep Bluetooth on anyway. Don't trust how my info will be stored and used after or during this, don't trust I could truly delete the app, don't trust what I'd have to allow access to when downloading the app.

If they made it mandatory, I'd leave my phone home, even just walking to shops

Apart from what I said earlier that Matt Hancock has been in talks to sell our NHS data and access to our smartphone data including camera feed to a company with dodgy Russian, Chinese and Saudi stakeholders.

This govt is incompetent and I have to assume they will be incompetent in protecting mine and my children’s data.

Other options are widespread testing, temperature testing at airports etc
Using that data to control the spread and track the virus

If they make this mandatory I will just use an old phone with no contract daily.
Use my main phone for work only.

I have no intention of downloading this app because it is open to abuse by the government and by the contractor that has developed it.
