What would you choose it to be?
I reckon most MNers will vote for hairdresser.
I want swimming pool.

And you?

Garden Centre

Mummyoflittledragon · 12/04/2020 05:45

MrsEB
You can get doggy clippers on eBay. They don’t work well on long coats. As your ddog has already been trimmed, these will just give an even look.

Blueblackrose · 12/04/2020 05:54

For me it is the dump and garden centre.

For those wanting paint I believe that whilst Wikes click and collect is in essential items, you can get more including paint with home delivery.
Round here Argos which are inside Sainsbury's are still open (though i don't think that is right).
Believe it or not The Range is open- poor staff.

RingtheBells · 12/04/2020 06:08

The tip and garden centre, we have managed to get quite a bit of diy stuff from Wickes click and collect, paint we got from Amazon and F&B

thunderthighsohwoe · 12/04/2020 06:16

@mangocoveredlamb Yes, we’ve got some from H&M but they seem to be designed or rather long and skinny toddlers; the smaller size were alarmingly snug on her and the larger size are so long that we’ve had to tie them at the side to stop them getting in the way of her climbing 😂

OhamIreally · 12/04/2020 07:52

Swimming pool and Pret. Sick of making my own food and miss just grabbing a salad, eating at my desk, no kitchen to clear up. Coming home to a nice tidy home that's had no-one in it all day.

Twattergy · 12/04/2020 08:17

Lovely local cafe to have a leisurely shakshuka and mint tea. Can't believe how popular the tip is as a choice on this thread! Shock

MysteryFrog · 12/04/2020 08:19

Ikea!

HettySunshine · 12/04/2020 08:21

Bookshops. I so miss wondering around on my lunch break and reading the backs of books and charting to the book sellers!

pastapestoparmesan · 12/04/2020 09:36

Charity shop to get rid of all the stuff I’ve cleared out
Hairdresser
Nero’s
I don’t like shopping, so other than that I’m not bothered.

Oliversmumsarmy · 12/04/2020 10:04

Not a shop but would love the tip to reopen. Even just got one day to get rid of the rubbish we seemed to have accumulated

CompleteBarstool · 12/04/2020 10:06

Caffe Nero!

I don't need anything from any shop really but I want a Neros' large skinny latte Smile

ILikeyourHairyHands · 12/04/2020 10:13

Everyone who's hankering for garden centres, lots of places are delivering, Sarah Raven is still sending out plants, Crocus are selling their entire range still, and smaller specialist nurseries are selling specimen plants and all the stock that was meant to be going to Chelsea and other shows. Have a Google!

Itwasntme1 · 12/04/2020 10:21

My local garden centre is delivering. I have spent an absolute fortune😊.

Had my neighbours not decided to recreate some horrendous disco and karaoke club in their back garden yesterday I would have had a blissful day of gardening.

The80sweregreat · 12/04/2020 10:42

Itwasntme, do you live in essex?
Some people over the back to me started a disco / karaoke yesterday afternoon! It was only about an hour though.
I wondered if it was shut down as it ended quite quickly.
Good luck with the garden today( in peace I hope! )

AlfieandAnnieRose · 12/04/2020 18:38

@Tolleshunt just read that Next website will be reopening this week

StrangerDays · 12/04/2020 18:47

I'm not missing any shops but I'm really, really missing hiking. Our nearest area for hiking is a 10-minute drive so we haven't been since lockdown.

Walking around our dingy, local streets full of people not bothering with distancing is horrible. Big drug problem in our neighbourhood, and everyone is out with friends/family, mopeds zipping up and down...errrrg.

StrangerDays · 12/04/2020 18:51

@Itwasntme1 I feel your pain! I heard the entire 3-hour Skype chat my neighbour had with (who I assume was) her friend. Did you know Helen is pregnant and it's probably not Mark's baby? She started singing Bat Out of Hell at one point.

Not the point: how does her wifi reach her garden when I'm lucky to get signal in the kitchen?

YeOldeTrout · 12/04/2020 19:03

When DC were little I would have said a good playpark or playground.

Coffeeandcrumpet · 12/04/2020 19:17

For all the people saying the tip, did you know you can still get a skip? We have had a productive weekend filling a skip with all the crap in our house and garden.

For.me it would be Hobbycraft, or the range - I know its open but it's not essential so I won't be going even through I would love to.

BarbaraofSeville · 12/04/2020 19:21

Yes, but the tip is free at the point of use, skips cost £££s and many people are having to cope with spending more on their shopping due to lack of choice and offers combined with loss of income means that many don't have the money to pay for a service they've already paid for and is not currently available to them.

EasyLifer · 12/04/2020 19:24

Laura Ashley and Debenhams, there are probably good reductions as they call in the administrators. I got so many bargains in BHS when they were closing down.

jojobar · 12/04/2020 20:21

I've decided I need to get a skip for all our assorted shit... for me I find I can generate a carload of crap for the tip over a weekend. But it takes me longer to fill a skip and because you can only have them for about 2 weeks I normally end up having to 'prep' stuff before I get one and then I've got stuff piled up everywhere!

Also agree skips aren't cheap, I think about £130 last one I got. Whereas the tip is only a mile from my house, so the time and cost in getting there is minimal.

maggiso · 12/04/2020 20:27

Chiropractor! ( I’ve locked my back up- normally the chiropractor can sort me out - but it’s closed! And hairdresser.
