What would you choose it to be?
I reckon most MNers will vote for hairdresser.
I want swimming pool.

And you?

Oh I just looked and saw they're not open. I thought my mum said a friend of hers had been, maybe she just meant she'd been in that area.

LucyFox · 11/04/2020 21:22

Garden centre Pleeeease

HelloDulling · 11/04/2020 21:23

@bananafish, you know what, I’m really good at doing my own nails-who knew, it’s been a decade-but even so, they need doing so often compared to gel polish I’m still despo to get back to the salon.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 11/04/2020 21:24

@LuxuryWoman2020 Poundland is open. We have a retail park here with Tesco, Iceland, wilko, pets art and Poundland all open.

SanFranBear · 11/04/2020 21:26

My hairdressers... was overdue before we locked down and it is ridiculous now! I dyed it between and that's looking shocking too so I need the works!

I will definitely be going in as soon as I'm 'allowed'

amazedmummy · 11/04/2020 21:27

We were gearing up for DS's first swim before lock down so I'd like the pool to be open.

mummyje20 · 11/04/2020 21:31

Genuinely soooo upset that I didn't go swimming before lockdown. I'm now 34 weeks pregnant and can't imagine anything nicer than a swim 😵 and baby will be here before pools are open again so no chance after either!

RozHuntleysStump · 11/04/2020 21:32

Book shops!

CoodleMoodle · 11/04/2020 21:33

Primark, definitely. The DC need new summer clothes and I love nothing more than a mooch around in there. I'd have to go on my own, though!

Poundland would be my second choice, for stocking up on cleaning and craft stuff, sweets/chocolate/little toys, and storage. They also do clothes (via Pep & Co) so I could get some things for the kids in there. Not as much choice as Primark but good enough.

@Anniecott I'm also a hairdresser who is salon based. Think we are going to be inundated. The last couple of days before we closed I was doing so many phone consultations and how tos. Busy right up to close with cuts/colours etc. Regular clients have kept their normal bookings and we have a list of clients to call as soon as we open. Also, I suspect we will be dealing with a lot of dodgy fringe trims and home colours gone wrong.

As for shops...I desperately want a Costa and a trip to the garden centre.

APurpleSquirrel · 11/04/2020 21:34

Garden Centre or a local ice cream parlour that only opens in the summer & does amazing ice cream.

Lovebb · 11/04/2020 21:34

Pub

PickAChew · 11/04/2020 21:34

B&q. Our decking is rotting and attracting wasps. Never mind the fear that someone will put a foot through it before the summer is out.

And yes, the website is up, but decking isn't available.

We are two days away from our planned weekly food shop, so just being able to pop to coop or M&S for a loaf of bread, something nice for lunch, some chocolate, wine and some flour for Yorkshire puddings tomorrow would be ideal. Maybe something nice for breakfast. I know bread would probably count as essential and we can go out for essentials but it just doesn’t feel important enough.

However, I also want to go to Ikea and buy a desk chair - my dining chairs are not comfortable for sitting on for 8 hours. I’d also like to go the tip/charity shop. All this free time on my hands and can’t get rid of any of the crap if we did sort the house and garden out. After a day of IKEA and ferrying stuff to the tip. - the only way to end that day is with a meal at the local tapas.

LHMBF · 11/04/2020 21:37

Definitely hair salon. I get it done every week usually.

Ozzfest · 11/04/2020 21:37

Nail salon... desperately
Dunelm / Matalan .... missing my mooch round both
Superdrug for make-up mooches
MacDs...was never fussed before but now I can’t have one, I really want one!

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 11/04/2020 21:39

The garden centre near us which has a cafe, has clothings, knick naks and gardening stuff. Ideally it should also have a dog groomer and hair dresser too

Gigia · 11/04/2020 21:40

Hairdressers then beauty salon for lashes/nails. I will be making appointments as soon as the lockdown is lifted.

NeverSurrender · 11/04/2020 21:44

Barbers. My six year old son is looking like a Gallagher brother. I don't even have any hairdresser scissors or clippers to do it myself and not sure he'd let me - he's quite precious with his hair!

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2020 21:48

Garden centre (well, my local nursery, I don't need the random stuff the big 'garden centres' sell)

wherethewavesarehighest · 11/04/2020 21:55

Anywhere that I can just have a browse. No carefully planned shopping list in sight.
Can't wait for the charity shops to open back up. I think after this they'll have some pretty good stock with all the clearing out people are doing.

Spied · 11/04/2020 21:56

TK Maxx

My back is really niggly. I normally go every 6 weeks or so to keep it in shape.

KimchiLaLa · 11/04/2020 21:59

Zara. I just want to pop to Zara to mosey around.
