Day 24 or 25 here, I think.

Feel more like myself on the whole, but seem to have developed blisters on the inside of my nose - what madness is this?! It’s like bloody whack-a-mole. As soon as one symptom subsides, another pops up out of nowhere...

BreathlessCommotion · 20/04/2020 17:01

Hmm. Well I'm allergic to ibuprofen. I rested for a few hours, dozed a bit and feel a bit better. Not perfect but not as bad.

I've not phoned GP yet as I don't see what they can do really. Same as 111. I kind of figure unless I blue and can't breathe, need oxygen, there isn't much they can offer.

RickyBooth · 20/04/2020 17:11

I agree about GP and 111 but just wanted to see if I needed antibiotics as the gurgle is a little alarming. But looks to be ok as of now. And the bloody burn is annoying. And yes this is like the worst virus ever just when you think your on the mend another thing pops up

BreathlessCommotion · 20/04/2020 17:14

It is scary making that noise. Helpfully I'm also allergic to penicillin, so lots of antibiotics are no good for me either. I wish it would be over with.

RickyBooth · 20/04/2020 17:18

Strange thing is today I am so hungry could eat and eat first time in weeks iv felt that way. And yes I wish it would be over with also

Taffyapple8 · 20/04/2020 17:27

My ginger has come back with force this past week. 2 weeks prior to that, I could barely get a piece of toast down me. Now all I'm thinking about is my next meal! The whack a mole comment hahha! I've developed a huge mouth ulcer which I always do with viruses. Hopefully this is the final stretch x

I hope everyone on this thread is OK but of you are struggling to breathe @mrspmummy or anyone else, dial 999, it IS a medical emergency

Mamia15 · 20/04/2020 19:05

To those who had a sore throat as part of Covid - what was it like? Since this morning my throat has been getting worse and it now really hurts to swallow.

RickyBooth · 20/04/2020 19:22

@Mamia15 It was very dry on first day then felt like there was a lump that would just not go away started in nose then worked its way down throat. that's what it felt like for me but others have had different.

Goatymcgoaty · 20/04/2020 19:27

@BreathlessCommotion I think you are the first poster who has describes exactly what I experienced. The high pitched noises coming from your throat as if you’ve had 40 cigs on a night out, plus rattling in your windpipe? Do you have sudden episodes of breathlessness where you can’t get air in?

BreathlessCommotion · 20/04/2020 19:30

Yes and today I hadn't really done much, worked at a desk and home schooled at a table. But the chest pain and breathlessness was quite extreme.

I would phone an ambulance if I needed to. When I was younger my epiglotis swelled up after an allergic reaction, and they very nearly had to do a tracheotomy. So I know I'm not near that point at the moment.

It has calmed down again with rest. Then went to supermarket and it has got a bit wheezy again.

Goatymcgoaty · 20/04/2020 19:39

Sounds familiar. I only had breathless once on day 9. The burning upper chest came a bit later, but was mild. It was more of a burning windpipe than the lungs. I also had a mouth ulcer like @Taffyapple8, and some odd roaming pins and needles.

The worst longest lasting symptom by far was a sore throat and feeling of lump/swollen neck. Lasted ages.

No idea if it was the virus though, or something else.

Ernieshere · 20/04/2020 20:24

Goatymcgoaty What day are you on now? My throat is awful today.

MyBeloved · 20/04/2020 20:32

Evening all.

Those who are asking about a sore throat, mine was one sided and only lasted a day or so.

In terms of feeling like you've had a night on the cigs, can completely relate. I still feel like this on day 16.

Fatigue, yep, still comes and goes but more present than not. Been in bed most of today.

And old alberto the elephant is still making his presence known.

Goatymcgoaty · 20/04/2020 20:53

@Ernieshere i think about day 15.

The throat was the most constant symptom. Also a small constant cough. Not a barking cough, more of a throat clear over and over a million times. Kind of a cuh cuh cuh cuh over and over. Other symptoms came and went with no real pattern, most odd. Got through loads of packets of tunes.

Elzbells · 20/04/2020 21:01

I think I'm pretty much over the worse, feel like myself today. Left with a huge mouth ulcer, a tongue that feels itchy and too big for my mouth and like someone else said the inside of my nose is covered in tiny scratchy blisters.

Still have a lingering one sided sore throat when I woke up but it's gone over the course of the day. This was my first symptom and looks like also my last.

Crayfishforyou · 20/04/2020 21:12

Day 21
I'm going to pop over to the 40+ thread now.
But what started as a terrible day has ended with me feeling pretty good. It's been one of my best days really; managed to hang some washing out, did some home schooling, did the dishwasher.
That's the most I've done in three weeks!
Its not day by day for me with this bug, its hour by hour.

MrsPworkingmummy · 20/04/2020 21:34

@RickyBooth thank you for the support and reassurance

RickyBooth · 20/04/2020 21:54

@MrsPworkingmummy hope you start to feel better soon. its hard with kids I know iv got one with special needs. And its hard to explain what is going on but hang in there try to keep as calm as you can.

BreathlessCommotion · 20/04/2020 22:09

A friend of mine who works in a clinical role in the NHS (but not directly covid related) has made me promise to ring 111 of my breathing gets bad again. Although it seems so pointless if they say they can't do anything unless you are blue.

@MrsPworkingmummy hope you get some rest. It's horrid being scared when you are ill. As if the symptoms aren't bad enough!

Sweetie60 · 20/04/2020 23:39

Started with the virus about 4 weeks ago (GP diagnosed, not tested). Slight fever, sore throat, coughing, mild SOB. Left with two odd symptoms. Whenever I walk the dog, my heart rate is about 20-30 bpm higher than it normally is (according to my Fitbit). Anyone had this and know how long it will go on for?
And the second one is a bit weird - breathing in and out, feels like I'm breathing menthol (feels like I've just cleaned by teeth or swallowed a load of Vicks). My GP is flummoxed. Tried ABs in case of secondary infection, but they didn't make any difference. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Bouledeneige · 21/04/2020 00:26

Hi folks - i hope you don't mind me joining you. I'm in my mid 50s with no underlying health conditions apart from being overweight. I think I am on day 14 (as is my DD). Mostly my symptoms were mild up until day 10 but since then they have been worse. Mainly, hot and cold temperatures, headaches, sore throat, aching ribs, legs and shoulders, pins and needles in my legs and dizziness. Occasional stabbing stomach pain and feeling a little breathless. Very tired. Some days are worse than others. Its making me feel a bit miserable as I can no longer manage my daily walks and struggle with chores. And some days, like today, barely able to get out of bed, slept a lot. I don't feel really dreadful though so feel bad not to be working.

blueangel1 · 21/04/2020 00:57

Oh, the "zingy nose" feeling! Not quite like menthol for me, but I know exactly what you mean. I still have it a bit, but it was worse when I lost my sense of taste and smell. I'm over 4 weeks on now, and nearly all of the symptoms have receded now.

Notpanickingjustyet · 21/04/2020 06:32

Hello, just checking in. Day 11 and have had 2 good days. Just feeling tired now.
