@Gunner30 , please don't think I was doubting your symptoms. I wasn't. I was trying to say it is interesting to have a slightly different trajectory on the thread. God knows, my own symptoms have been odd enough, as I've had low temperature rather than high.

godhelpusall · 13/04/2020 11:09

@Gunner30 that's interesting- the pains could be lymphatic. I hadn't thought of that. Was it under the ribs? Did the dr agree that was what it was? Not that I place much faith in the gps- they are having to guess as much as we are. Mine said it was muscular but I've barely had a cough.

godhelpusall · 13/04/2020 11:12

@everythingisginandroses well I suppose it's because there's this big fear thing built around, and a narrative of blame (well they weren't social distancing properly etc) so if you tell people they either try to deny it (no test?!) minimise it, or seem shocked.

Standrewsschool · 13/04/2020 11:27

Welcome Gunner and all the other newbies.

Porcupineinwaiting · 13/04/2020 11:32

Day 26 In general, I am feeling better each day. Rely horrendous bout of acid reflux last night but this is a weakness of mine anyway, so I'm not too surprised. No more roast lamb dinners for me for a bit, back to soup and crackers!

Gunner30 · 13/04/2020 11:33

@onlinelinda - Don't worry, I didn't think take, but agree that my symptoms were a bit different. Just hope that we are both starting to get better, though it does feel like a marathon. Look after yourself :-)

@godhelpusall - The pains are more on the rib and just below the bottom of the rib cage. The doctor couldn't say for sure, as he couldn't see me to check. However, he agreed that the lymphathic system does try to fight infection, so the pains would make sense. I've found water, hot showers (lots of steam) and deep breathing exercises have helped. Good luck and hope the symptoms die down.

Gunner30 · 13/04/2020 11:34

Thanks @Standrewsschool

longshot · 13/04/2020 11:56

@gunner30 it’s interesting about the lymphatic system.

I’ve had loads of bad rib pain almost felt like swelling rather than just pain (bottom left rib in particular) and pains in my arms and arm pit but also a lot of pleuritic type pain. Shooting around my heart and into my shoulders (nice)

Main symptom now on day 34 is back ache, tiredness and general chest heaviness but less pain. In myself I am starting to feel more normal but still and can breathe ok but don’t feel up to doing much other than sitting around and reading! Might attempt a stroll later.

WorriesomeDad · 13/04/2020 12:02

@TheWooisStrong that’s really good to hear. Thanks for sharing, think I just need to keep hearing stories like yours to have faith that there will be an end to this!

Moodgie · 13/04/2020 12:04

@longshot
Glad to hear you are better. Is your breathing completely normal now? I think you were very much like me yesterday with breathlessness.

pinkoneblueone · 13/04/2020 12:08

@Gunner30

This sounds like how my husband has been for the last 30 days his has been slightly different to mine and he has been so so tired with it.

WorriesomeDad · 13/04/2020 12:10

Glad you are starting to feel better too @longshot and really hope it continues for you, it’s been a long haul!

everythingisginandroses · 13/04/2020 12:13

@godhelpusall Yes I know what you mean. We caught it pre-lockdown and live in a hotspot so we don't feel judged by anyone (wouldn't care if anyone did, TBH), but we have mainly been waiting for people to check in with us rather than actively telling them. People have been nice, but there have been a couple of "OMFG!" type reactions which haven't been helpful. It's a respiratory virus, not the Black Death!

everythingisginandroses · 13/04/2020 12:16

Oh, and yes, it's irritating when you get the vibe that people don't really believe you, or seem surprised that you're not 100% yet. Best to be tolerant: no-one knows much at this stage.

Standrewsschool · 13/04/2020 12:33

Sometimes I feel a slight fraud, because I haven’t been really, really ill, but my ‘mild symptoms’ have lasted than the seven days, and the mild symptoms have taken it out of me.

stayathomegardener · 13/04/2020 12:35

@Casino218 could you just say you are phoning for a prescription?
The receptionist will have to pass that on surely as 111 wouldn't be covering that area.

Update on Muriel who is about day 40 and still doesn't realise her crazy bug may be Coronavirus.

She had actually improved so much recently she had started doing a few bicep curls with a tin of beans and some leg exercises!
Had a setback yesterday afternoon with headaches and one sided lung pain. But trajectory is definitely upwards.

If Muriel can keep going it's positive for the rest of us, she is pretty frail and is on steroids for an autoimmune condition.

@Gunner30 could the rib pain be costochondritis?

godhelpusall · 13/04/2020 12:49

@Standrewsschool I feel like this too. In fact I think some of my worry is that it's not been bad enough yet, so it's in the post. I really wish I could do a test that said it's gone so I can start to move on.

everythingisginandroses · 13/04/2020 12:49

@Standrewsschool I think the 7-day thing is guff for a lot of people. I felt at my worst between days 8-12, and I am highly suspicious of the govt advice that you are not infectious after 7 days Hmm I am pleased to hear about people who say they have had it very mildly, but a bit jealous if I am honest! Envy I normally shake off bugs very quickly, so this has been surprising and at times dispiriting for me, but these threads have a good source of support Flowers

WorriesomeDad · 13/04/2020 12:50

Inspirational stuff! How are you feeling these days@stayathomegardener?

godhelpusall · 13/04/2020 12:51

@everythingisginandroses except that if you watch the tv it is like the Black Death! That's why I won't have it on in the house, it's like a roll call of death. Not helpful!

Egghead68 · 13/04/2020 12:52

Is Muriel OK with her photo being posted?

everythingisginandroses · 13/04/2020 12:59

Yeah, I know @godhelpusall There is an element of sensationalism, but also because we are not testing they have no grasp on how many people are staying at home with symptoms like ours and recovering. I cried the other night after watching a horrible report from Ecuador, and DS (11, also symptomatic) has been getting upset about the deaths reported here. Best to avoid or minimise news for now Flowers Brew

Moodgie · 13/04/2020 13:03

How many of you are still having breathing difficulties? I know @WorriesomeDad has said today he is very much like me. I think I’m about day 39.

pinkoneblueone · 13/04/2020 13:09

Anyone day 33/36 still breathless coughing more than they were before and getting the return of a sore thoat at all?
