i’m sorry you are having a really bad night I hope that it passes soon I found distraction the best thing.

WorriesomeDad · 11/04/2020 03:28

Hi @Lovelesslily, with you. What position are you sleeping in? I was advised to sleep as sitting up as possible. Often found the whole jerking awake thing happened the flatter I was.

Although that said I’m not having a great night after the best one in ages last night. Keep getting nightmares then waking up short of breath and fast heart rate again despite being propped up. Think it’s sleep apnea.

baroqueandblue · 11/04/2020 04:18

@Lovelesslily hope you've managed to get back off to sleep by now and have a better sleep for the remainder of the night. Likewise @WorriesomeDad

I've woken up feeling overheated and short of breath; panicky, basically Sad First time this has happened to me so intensely since coming down with this wretched thing. Day 27 now. Not fun. Also congested/stuffy nose which may well be pollen allergy for me at this time of year. Will wait a while and then take some antihistamine I think. I've put some healing affirmations on to reassure myself and eaten some biscuits Biscuit

And the rib/back pain is bad enough again to make me think twice before going from lying to sitting, etc. Just hacked up some mucus, a bit greeny-brown but not too dark. Trust me, I'm not so confident suddenly about taking the cephalexin Blush Might give it half an hour and if I'm still feeling anxious call 111 and explain what's going on.

Touch wood, but feeling less panicked as I sit typing and digesting the biscuits. Got my paper bag just in case. Anxious fizzing in my chest and diaphragm. I think I'll be OK but am so disappointed. Pretty much 4 weeks and still not right.

Thinking of anyone else who might be struggling through the night Flowers

pinkoneblueone · 11/04/2020 05:05

Day 35 (recalculated) due to sick child and hubby I am trying to sleep but it’s not happening woke twice gasping for breath In less than an hour. Had a few puffs of my inhaler noticed a bit of chest pain and achey shoulders again. Tried sleeping sitting up but leaning back slightly is making my breathing feel worse. Oxometer on us all is good despite my son sleeping on his back. We have had Kerrang radio playing as background noise as my son had too and realise he’ll have heard the death tolls which is not what I wanted when he’s feeling so awful. I hate this all. Has anyone further along noticed a reduction is symptoms, day time was good for me yesterday but it’s been a day since my last feeling rotten day. Was hoping they would be more spaced out than this.

mymoonmyman2020 · 11/04/2020 05:55

Hello all, wasn’t too sure where to post... not at day 30 yet and seemed to have massively improved at day 14ish. But have woken up this morning with strange irritated breathing sensation (like room is dusty) and dry/abrasive throat (needs to be cleared all the time). It feels like I’m back to square one :( :(
Feeling quite nervous and panicky that it could be ‘back’, which probably isn’t helping. Did anyone else much better for a week and then have symptoms return ? Hoping this is just a blip but I’m really scared :(

Thinking of all who are still suffering, it’s such a horrible persistent illness 💐

TheWooisStrong · 11/04/2020 07:10

@mymoonmyman2020 I found this illness came in two phases, I had a couple of days in the middle where I felt a bit better, then a chesty relapse.

I’ve woken up today feeling better again. It’s been a long illness but I’m definitely on the way back to normal. 4 weeks plus from start to finish though.

longshot · 11/04/2020 07:27

Good morning.

Day 32 here.

A bad night, palpitations kept waking me and I generally feel terrible. I feel like the last 4 days I’ve taken a turn for the worse after being quite a bit better.

Is anyone else following this pattern? I’m actually quite scared now that I am going to end up in ICU after posting on here last week that I didn’t think that would happen any more.

My heart rate is really fast on and off. I’ve just taken paracetamol and hoping I might be able to get back to sleep for a bit. I also feel so hot but don’t have a fever.

Meercatmama · 11/04/2020 08:04

Good morning After a rough afternoon yesterday went to bed early Woke up this morning pain in my right rib gone but feel a bit chesty at the top of my lungs but not as bad yesterday Day 29 for me. Sorry some of you had such a rough night but we are getting there it is just a long hard road to full recovery Two steps forward and one back each time. I have decided to do just what I need to do and rest as much as possible Husband who is on day 13 and I do what we can when we feel we can. He is binging on box sets and films

pinkoneblueone · 11/04/2020 08:17

@longshot my husband was told by the doctor this is all post viral now and that it’s very much a monitor the situation now. I’ve found checking sats and peak flow eased my worries on the breathing issues

Lightsabre · 11/04/2020 08:19

@baroqueandblue, the pollen count has been high all over the country so some of the symptoms could be related. I wake up with a sneeze or two - happens in the evening also but I had the same last year so know those particular things are related to the pollen rather than the virus.

Casino218 · 11/04/2020 08:19

@Isnitorisit sorry probably got name wrong. Stop the Brufen. It can have an anticoagulant effect which is why they were not recommending it with this virus. If your mucous membranes are inflamed anyway it might make them bleed. Just take paracetamol.

longshot · 11/04/2020 08:23

@Lovelesslily I’m sorry you had such a bad night, sounds very similar to how I have been last night. Not fun. I’m on day 32 but generally until a few days ago my nights haven’t been that bad but that seems to have changed. Just trying to hang in there and hope things pick up soon.

Monty6 · 11/04/2020 08:24

Morning all, i am new to this thread, but am also (hopefully) recovering from suspected covid 19. Currently day 31.

Rough timeline:
Day 1 - started with mid-upper back ache and some chest pains
Day 2 - slight fever symptoms (up about 0.5-1 deg on normal)
Days 3-5 - chest pains and low-grade fever continue, also evil sinus type headache. Chest pains a combination of more continuous burning discomfort and sharper intermittent pains.
Days 6-7 - breathing difficulties - i had some chest wheeziness, but the most scary part was the feeling of a severely constricted throat. 2 nights with very little sleep, i found the pulse oximeter helped to reassure myself that i was getting enough oxygen
Days 8-21 - generally improving, but with good and bad days, main symptoms continued fatigue and tight and intermittently painful chest. Only mild cough throughout.
Day 22-29 - not sure if i overdid things, but went back downhill again. Significant fatigue and some days with returned low grade fever and sinus type headaches.
Day 30-31 - feeling of more energy again (relatively) - trying not to overdo it.

Like some on here i have been on the ravenous end of the spectrum. We think my whole house has had this one. Curiously my normally regular period came a week early, which may be a coincidence, but i have seen a couple of other people mention it.

In case this is of interest to some... you can get private bloods done (to check iron levels and things like that) through companies like medichecks and blue horizons. I have autoimmune hypothyroidism and this is the best way to monitor my condition as the NHS will often measure only TSH, which is next to useless when you are being treated and is not ideal as the only test for diagnosis. It is worth bearing in mind for those of you with CFS and fibromyalgia type symptoms that, amongst other things, it can result from undiagnosed or sub-optimally treated thyroid problems. Thyroid problems are often also associated with vitamin and mineral deficiencies like iron, b12, folate and vitamin d. In case you want to learn more there is lots of useful information on the thyroid uk website and forums.

Porcupineinwaiting · 11/04/2020 09:21

Morning all. Day 23
Last night I had my first nights sleep since this started. Its still in me, still have the buzzing feeling, but (touch wood) better each day. I am still taking things incredibly easy in the hope of staving off any serious relapse. My friend an her dds all had the 2 week version and "recovered" over 10 days ago now and they still get an occasional bad day, even after a when week of fine.

Porcupineinwaiting · 11/04/2020 09:22

whole week

pinkoneblueone · 11/04/2020 09:37

I am so glad you finally had a good sleep.

Meercatmama · 11/04/2020 09:41

My cough seems to have returned not massively and feel a little breathless now and then but I am managing to get up and do some things like load the dishwasher. I think I overdid it in the previous 3 days when my husband was ill and we had the paramedics out. We have kind of settled into a routine of trying not to overdo it and making sure we rest. We are not normally like this and are always busy so particulary my husband is finding this very trying

pinkoneblueone · 11/04/2020 09:42

My boss has the 2 week version as did a colleague I am sick of hearing ‘are you still ill?’ I am not sure we can stave off any relapses I think it follows a bit of a pattern of I’m honest we are on wave 3 in my house

pinkoneblueone · 11/04/2020 09:43

@Meercatmama my husband is too but he has a liver condition to content with too. I hope you have a better day today

onlinelinda · 11/04/2020 09:45

Day 28

My last 36 hours went like this:
Chills and shivers
In bed
2 x different strong antibiotics
Chills subside lunchtime and afternoon
Itching reaction to one antibiotic , and off it again
Bed
Sleep well
Chills.

I'm learning to live with rinse and repeat.

My lungs are clear although they feel smaller and more constricted, possibly because of all this lying around, or maybe it's just fatigue.

longshot · 11/04/2020 09:50

Is anyone experiencing heart palpitations/ racing heart throughout the day and night and NOT on antibiotics? Just wondering if the amoxicillin may have made me develop this symptom as I’ve only had it since starting on them.

mumlurker · 11/04/2020 09:58

@longshot

I've had the heart palpitations at random times of day, but i'm not on medication.

Feeling pretty down today. Had 12 hours sleep(!), woke up and instantly knew it would be another day in bed. I've never experienced fatigue like this before.

Has anyone experience post-viral fatigue before? Is this normal? My head feels like lead, I can hardly sit up!

pinkoneblueone · 11/04/2020 10:01

My son is feeling this atm longshoremen and currently not on antibiotics

Meercatmama · 11/04/2020 10:01
