@thenewaveragebear1983 I have the same problem with bags but my excuse is they breed in the cupboard ,we put the reusable bags in the boot of both cars and still forget about them and buy more,my cupboard must be worth thousands

StormCiara · 08/04/2020 09:08

Ooh @thenewaveragebear1983 that’s advanced. The curiosity would be too much for me though!

Sickoffamilydrama · 08/04/2020 09:47

@moolady1977 love the bats.
My mother in law would absolutely love your bedroom, she's really into her wicka to.
It looks like a lot of dusting though but it will be really satisfying once done.

I did our landing and bedroom blinds which took about 4 hours but they look like new although I am never buying slatted blinds again if/when we move house.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/04/2020 10:18

Mustard/vinegar/salt/pepper/ketchup/brown sauce/worcestershire sauce/soy sauce=ambient.

Mayo/salad cream=chilled condiments.

Agree with SparklingBrook (above).

Only salad cream and mayonnaise go in the fridge.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/04/2020 10:21

*There has to be an academic thesis in this surely.^

Or at least a paper in a top journal. You start on the literature review. I'll get going on the methodology.

If I do the stats can I be an et al?

Letsdoanamechangeagain · 08/04/2020 10:26

I also folded my bags for life into neat triangles.

I have an abundance of things I need to do, but no. Doing origami on my scrunched up shopping bags was more important apparently

Shinyfloors · 08/04/2020 10:31

Yep, dust and mess building up but I have tidy bagsConfused

Kuponut · 08/04/2020 10:42

I never put the spices in alphabetical order - I use the big letters on the front to make rude words like any true mumsnetter should do.

OchonAgusOchonO · 08/04/2020 11:44

@SchadenfreudePersonified - If I do the stats can I be an et al?

Absolutely. I'm happy to go for a medical style paper with at least 30 authors.

HalfDutchGirl · 08/04/2020 12:02

Well so far today I have learnt about ambient condiments (who knew!), stripped my bed and washed the duvet and spent time looking longingly at the grass willing it to grow so that I could mow it again.

My light relief came in a conversation I had with a very deaf old chap I'm doing shopping for, he asked for apples, I asked what sort and his reply was 'the round ones'!!

Loving this thread btw!

I am seriously considering Disney plus. It has come to this...

Skirting boards all been wiped down and window blinds. Brushed the cat, with treat enticement. Shaved my legs, cut my nails, and cut my fringe yesterday. Need to change bedding now.

You make wrapping Paper for your dogs birthday

MarshmallowManiac · 08/04/2020 13:08

I have washed every window in the house (inside and outside), and every window ledge. Also washed and shined my front door/letterbox/knobs and scrubbed my bbq. I have straightened my pantry cupboard, and now have a pile of ironing that I have to confront. I need (after this is all over) to send off my book to some publishers, [which I always put on the back burner], and put my MANY bags of photos into albums. Then I can rest. Grin

Lllot5 · 08/04/2020 13:14

I’ve sorted out cupboard in the spare room. My books were already organised. Im no good at baking.
I’m currently washing cushion covers and a panel thingy that covers the cupboard under the stairs.
I’m still working though so I don’t know why I’m joining in!! Shows how much time I spend at other people’s houses drinking coffee.

ClientQueen · 08/04/2020 13:23

I found an unopened bottle of lucozade in the back of a cupboard that expired in 2015. Oh the shame ...

EightNineTen · 08/04/2020 14:20

I cleared out and cleaned the car so that I could start filling it with bags of stuff for the charity shop whenever they reopen. Four so far!

MarshmallowManiac · 08/04/2020 15:25

Oh and I almost finished a Netflix series that I have been trying to finish for ages.

keeptheaspidistra · 08/04/2020 17:51

I've dusted my house plants Grin

LisaD76 · 08/04/2020 18:00

We have cleaned our house top to bottom including cleaning and rearranging cupboards in the kitchen and utility, sorted all my daughters old toys and clothes that were in a spare room ready for charity ... and some were toddler toys- she is almost 12!! Went through my wardrobe and drawers and cleaned and rearranged, today I baked an ultimate chocolate cake and the oh painted the utility, I might have to pull out some knitting and crochet to see me through till I’m back at work now

mbosnz · 08/04/2020 18:02

When your daughter wants to spend quality time with her mother, having a nice walk in the sunshine - nicely combined with a bottlerun of far too many empties!

Chocolatestain · 08/04/2020 18:02

Not much achieved in the way of housework. Lockdown for me has been finding unexpected joy in the weekly drive to Sainsburys. Obviously there’s nothing joyful about being actually there (until the day I find a bag of flour on the shelves!) but getting in my car and driving somewhere - all on my own - is exhilarating.
