There is only one reason for a patient being transferred to ITU. And that is because their life is potentially at risk.

Sincerely hoping he makes a full recovery.

This is bloody terrifying. Hope he recovers Maybe this will finally shut up the 'It's just flu' and 'Unless you're over 70 and have underlying health conditions it's not a big deal' brigade.

I really hope he makes a quick recovery, his poor family, especially his pregnant fiancée, what an awful time for them and for our country.

Does ICU mean ventilation?

Reading between the lines, there does seem to be some concern that may be necessary.

Doubt even the PM would take an ICU space at this time if not required for the most advanced care, particularly as the PM has been so keen not to "be" ill.

I think he's been really good during this crisis. His leadership style of 'can do' positivity underlined with gravitis i think is just what the country needs at this time. I really hope he gets through this.
