Oh Boris no 🙁

OP posts:
CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 06/04/2020 23:30

Did anyone else just watch Trump's address? sounds like Boris is going to be the guinea pig.

What now?

PleasantVille · 06/04/2020 23:30

I think Boris must be on a vent. Just my gut instinct , hope they are way off beam but something is definitely not right

What do you mean by not right? Who is off beam?

As has been said many times he'll be getting the same care as all the other patients in the ITU in that hospital, we don't know the specifics and that's understandable.

MissEliza · 06/04/2020 23:32

@alloutoffucks my parents had a family friend who was a plastic surgeon. He performed cosmetic surgery in private hospitals but had the same opinion as your friend.
My dh had a routine operation in a private hospital a few years ago. He was supposed to be discharged on the same day but had complications with the catheter and had to stay overnight. I felt the nursing staff on duty couldn't cope with overnight stays. He also had a bad reaction with the tramadol prescribed. Again the nursing staff seemed to lack confidence in dealing with it and we waited ages for a doctor to appear. I really didn't like leaving him there.
If I had a serious condition, I'd want to be in an NHS hospital.

Mrsmadevans · 06/04/2020 23:32

I meant my gut instinct was telling me something wasn't right. Nothing to do with him being in ITU & if l am really honest ever since he was diagnosed l felt as of this was going to happen. I nursed for 38 yrs and a lot of what l did depended on observation. I think l must have subconciously recognised he was very poorly. Poor man .

Toothsil · 06/04/2020 23:34

I really hope he pulls through. This is just awful.

pucelleauxblanchesmains · 06/04/2020 23:37

The thing with people saying "oh he has access to the best care"... there isn't really a lot of care they can give him other than what they're giving everyone, given we don't have a proper treatment yet. Hoping he pulls through.

doubleshotespresso · 06/04/2020 23:38

@SomethingOnce I think you're right also in South London and heard a lot of activity, but then we have had a lot in the wee small hours in the past few days too. Something very much out of the ordinary most definitely...

GabsAlot · 06/04/2020 23:39

i actually felt sick im no tory dont vote for them but this is terrible and poor carrie as well

Mummy0ftwo12 · 06/04/2020 23:39

Trump has just said in his live address that two companies in America have got some promising results, that they have offices in London and have spoke to Boris's doctors today and are 'ready to go' - I interpret that as being they have a promising treatment.

alloutoffucks · 06/04/2020 23:39

@MissEliza Glad your DH is okay and interesting to know that your surgeon friend thought the same. If medics think that, then they are probably right.

alloutoffucks · 06/04/2020 23:42

@Mummy0ftwo12 I would love that to be true, but Trump has a long history of making it up as he goes along.

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 06/04/2020 23:42

I interpret that as Trump talking a load of shite.

Iateallthecookies000 · 06/04/2020 23:45

I can’t sleep, I know it’s sad but I feel really sorry for him. I think tonight will be important.

Ilovemypantry · 06/04/2020 23:49

@Mummy0ftwo12

I don’t believe a word that comes out of Trump’s mouth I’m afraid.

Dickorydockwhatthe · 06/04/2020 23:49

Dreading waking up to sad news. Also feel for Kate karraway and her husband who's in ICU and alot the other effected families xx

SomethingOnce · 06/04/2020 23:50

I don’t want to go to sleep for fear of waking to bad news.

BigChocFrenzy · 06/04/2020 23:50

Bloody hell, the British PM should not be a guinea pig for those drugs Trump is pushing

If Trump gets it himself, he is welcome to try them out

Ilovemypantry · 06/04/2020 23:52

@Iateallthecookies000

I can’t get to sleep either, I feel so sad for Boris. Let’s hope and pray he improves tomorrow.

starlightgazers · 06/04/2020 23:52

I think it's highly unlikely he'll die by the morning.

starlightgazers · 06/04/2020 23:53

Highly likely he'll improve by then though either. It generally takes a few days to play out from this point.

unique1986 · 06/04/2020 23:53

Quickly reading about Boris love life. He seems to have done very well with the ladies. Many affairs and women flocking around him. Now with woman half his age.
I always got the impression hes be useless around attractive women.

MarshaBradyo · 06/04/2020 23:55

I really hope he pulls through

starlightgazers · 06/04/2020 23:55

Something very much out of the ordinary most definitely

Yes, it's called a pandemic. Stop with the conspiracy shite.

starlightgazers · 06/04/2020 23:57

I've actually met him (work related) - he is very charming and charismatic. Fatter, older looking and shorter than he looks on TV though.

SomethingOnce · 06/04/2020 23:59

Everyone looks taller on telly Grin
